Congratulations! Is understandable why she converted as her husband and the rest of her children are true blue Singaporean, hence it really make sense. Her family probably making good money thus can afford comfortable life in Singapore such as having a nice condo & conti car. Some of us may opt to stay in Malaysia especially for those who aspire to run business or have bigger family business back home in Malaysia then it may be a good idea to remain in Malaysia. Cars and house is cheap in Malaysia and true enough there are alot of freedom as well as better business opportunity compare to Singapore (Singapore is not SME business friendly, they only friendly to those huge business). I can imagine now my life in Malaysia with no stress and have a stable business, driving from Ipoh to Penang to have lunch then on weekend driving from Ipoh to KL for shopping with my A250. Just maintain my PR & HDB (just rent out 2 rooms) in Singapore until they refused to renewed my reentry permit haha...life in Singapore is always stress like running a rat race and everyone is just too busy to keep up with the joneses as well as trying to stay ahead or outrun one another (kiasu- afraid to lose out) & kaisi (scared die). Some convert because of meritocracy & fairness are simply naive. Life is simply unfair, even in our own family we are being treated unfairly at times.

May Ng I apply Singapore Citizenship somewhere in 2019 I suppose to wait for one year about 12 months, then came COVID. ICA did not process or no news then somewhere in November 2020 ICA call and asked me instead of my husband as sponsor used my son. Then I follow accordingly I found out that ICA had approve my application but ICA did not contact me or advice me . I happen to login to ICA to check my re entry permit and found out. May Ng, do ICA contact you or have to wait for letters from ICA? Please advice. Or i need to contact ICA ?

It wasn't complicated, it wasn't lengthy for me. Pretty straightforward actually. It's just that it isn't transparent so many people who got rejected did not know why. That is the only not straightforward part. They do not use point system like some countries where you know you qualified or not. I wouldn't want to state publicly why some hot rejected but if you search online, you might see some patterns.

After stage 2,do we need to renounce malaysia citizenship within 2 month or can be delay? Will complete stage 2 in 25oct but got a japan trip on 21Dec 23. Able to made it for the trip? 😂

It was recommended not to make traveling plans for 2-3 months from the date of this letter for Stage 2. Seriously, don't think too much about the tours, just choose the ones that fits your time or location.... surely you will learn something about each your unless you are really passionate about certain topics, seriously, I couldn't give a hoot, I chose whichever that was most convenient.

May Ng Borang K and Form MY=RN1, do you make appointment to collect the forms or just drop by to collect the form , I try calling Embassy and hold the line for almost an hour no reply.
