My Struggle With Adderall Addiction

I hope this helps someone who's struggling with this stuff. Adderall originally changed my life for the better, but eventually turned into a full blown addiction. I wanted to tell my story of getting off the drug for good.
If you're taking a generic adderall script and it's making you sick, you're not alone. I got off adderall because my generic had begun to make me sick.

I started doing drugs since my teenage, got addicted to Crack. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Crack addiction actually destroyed my life. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 4 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them

I would like to know from those who have solved PTSD and anxiety, if they have solved it definitively and how to understand what quantity of psilocybin to take and when, for how long. And can you really heal without having an addiction? Thanks to everyone for helping me understand, I want to understand if it's something that can help me solve the problem (I have c-ptsd)
@MichaelDavidson-qi7ts
@MichaelDavidson-qi7ts Месяц назад
From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,

Quitting alcohol 7 years ago is the best thing for me. When I couldn’t fall asleep without getting drunk. I knew it was getting bad. Addiction is hard. Even with sugar I struggle with. Not because it has made me fat, but I feel like shit when I eat sugar. But I overall I feel better when I don’t eat a ton of sugar. It’s dopamine what your brain is chasing. You just need to find cheap and healthy ways to chase dopamine and still be in reality.

I too am a former alcoholic. I quit cold turkey when my daughter asked why all I did was drink beer, I'd crack a beer at 430am when I woke up and not stop till 10pm when I went to bed. I was a very functional alcoholic. When a 5year old points out all dad does is drink, it cuts deep. That moment I realized I needed to stop, not for me but for her. Been almost 3 years. I still have one or two a week but thats when we go out for supper on Friday night. The first month was the hardest. The withdrawals were horrible. If my supervisor didn't know what I was going through she would have fired me day 3. She knew and was very supportive. I had alot of people on my side when I was getting sober. But the #1 supporter was my daughter. Anyone can do it, some need more help than others

@@stevenkast89 I can tell you as a daughter- now 25 years old, my dad also was a very bad alcoholic he got sober when I was 9 years old & I still remember it all like it was yesterday. I was & still am so proud of my dad. Alcohol withdrawl is no joke & he suffered tremendously but made it to the other side for not only himself but for his family. He worked so hard & sacrificed so much to take care of our family & worked long HARD hours. He was a welder. He like many boilermakers, fell into alcoholism & drank to survive on the job. He got help & hasn’t had a drink since 2008. My dad is & always has been my bestfriend, I never forgot all the sacrifices he made for our family & all he went through. Reading your story almost made me cry bc I understand & your daughter will be so proud of you for getting your alcholism under control. Wanted to tell you from a daughter’s perspective it will truly mean so much to her. Wishing you & your family nothing but the best in the future.🩷

I really appreciate your video and candor. I've been off amphetamines for almost two years after a long, addiction to them. I thought it was a perfect tool and for a long time, it was. But yeah, its was just fucking with me and my life too much. Some personal stuff happened with my wife and i decided that i was done. Two years later, I'm doing okay. I recently got promoted to a supervisor at my job. I'm way happier in my life. The biggest advice i can give is to accept the death. You are not ever going to be the same person without Adderall. I am a different person on Adderall. I'm way more into music and mixing. But without it, its been hard to find that person again. But I'm trying to get to know the new person i am without it. Some of it sucks but some of it has been great. Good luck out there.

I’m currently taking 60mg’s a day, I work part time at a restaurant and I’m in college full time along with a clingy girlfriend. I’ve was on vyvanse for 5 years and switched to adderall last year. I don’t remember what it was like to feel myself off of the meds. The last time I went cold turkey I almost lost my job due to my lack of performance and a 0.01% of motivation to even get out of bee. I hope to get off one day, the thought is also truly terrifying. I’m 23 years-old uncertain of my college degree, but I would delete myself if I was stuck minimum wage. As I am not even earning enough to get buy, with an adderall addiction that is awaiting to tear me apart one day…. I guess it’s the joys of life

Those uppers are tough man. Dangerous game! Unmedicated ADD here also, and I tried Kratom as a “natural” alternative to adderal. At first, miracle drug, my life is changed forever, this is what it’s like to be normal! 3 months later I’m at triple the dose and I can’t force a smile unless I’m freshly dosed. The challenge really starts when you stop because now everything seems boring or underwhelming compared to your high phase. We are here for you Jimbo.

I love this comment because I also got addicted to kratom thinking I was “drinking coffee “ like the promoters on the Internet say, and it totally fucked up four years of my life. Kratom is straight from the devil and will I know that sounds very dramatic, but I say that because there’s a lot of misinformation, and it’s basically like legalized heroin to some degree and it really takes peoples lives down, but they go into it totally unsuspecting, and it’s very addictive in my lived experience
@SAMEntalhealth
@SAMEntalhealth 3 месяца назад
A lot of people don't realize this in America or canada, but in Thailand the Muay Thai fighters would chew the leaves of the Kratom plant and have that painkilling property with euphoric energy before they fight, so in America and Canada the way Americans train and Canadians they want to believe they will get to that level of Thailand Fighters but realistically it won't happen because of what I just said @@whitneyw.7919

@@whitneyw.7919it's not straight from the devil everything is useful if you are responsible and are not susceptible to addiction, Kratom has taken me out of depression episodes that I felt like I was going to literally commit suicide but I only took it that day and I would wait months and months and months until I ever took it again if I had another major episode of that serious

Wow Jimbo, I commend you for making this video. I've been a subscriber for years. Since the C4 and ZFG days. Its hard to come out and talk about addiction. But I feel this video might just help someone out there that is struggling. I was addicted to opiates for about 15 years. It started with a car accident in 2003 when I was 18, they prescribed me oxycontin. then through pain management clinic shenanigans I moved on to a 10 year $100/day heroin habit. But I got myself out of it. It wasn't easy. I gave up more times than I can count. But I hit that moment of "I've got this" and made the decision to live again. I have been clean 5 years now. Take it one day at a time. It will get easier. I promise. I'm happy for you.

Been addicted to opiates (oxy, then heroin, now fentanyl) for almost exactly ten years now. I legit still struggle with it bro. Addiction SUCKS, and it can be a rough road. But with some support, and a positive outlook on life.. you can without a doubt conquer that addiction and make it your b!tch. Number one is being transparent with the people around you, it’s so hard to be honest about your addiction, and openly talk about it. So congrats on doing that part. It looks like you’re taking accountability which is huge. Anyways, I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you. Good luck to you on your road or recovery Jimbo. These pills are so toxic and like you said, they make you feel good and build you up but in the long run, it’s not worth it. It had such a psychological hold on me that I was still had thoughts that it had helped me, even months after my last manic episode. It caused psychosis in me 5 distinct times over the course of 7 years. At one point, I was prescribed 90mg of instant-release a day, filling 90 days worth at a time. What started as a miracle became a nightmare.

Jimbo as a diagnosed add and ADHD person going med free for almost 10 years now (prozac and concerta in my case) it's rough getting off meds especially going cold turkey to stuff. It's rough but at some point it's just needed because meds can sometimes just stop working. Keep up the good fight and just take one day at a time and don't be afraid to branch out to other things if you feel burnt out on one thing

you are SO real for this and i wish you the absolute best. i was struggling with this for all of 2023. i never really had issues with taking too much, or my meds "not working" until i switched from brand name to generic and my god it is horrible out there. i have a long history with mental illness and they got me playing roulette with my psychiatric medication every month. being told by doctors that there's no difference between brand name and generic "tHeY sHoULd wOrK tHe SaMe" ok but why am i falling apart at the seams and spiraling into the worst depression i've had in years all of a sudden?? i'm a lil over a week off meds and not getting things done sucks but it does feel better than the seemingly random push and pull my medication subjected me to monthly. like top 10 anime betrayals of all time

I am mind blown at how similar our stories are. Even the same time frame. Leading up to last September I started struggling and having to take 3 hour naps during the day even after taking adderal. I went 5 days cold turkey and after losing the will to live I realized I had to do a taper. I miss the adderall still because of how productive I used to be. But I am so glad to finally break the addiction and will never ever go back to it. Life with ADHD unmedicated is difficult but better than being addicted to a medication

I sympathize with you Jimbo. I've had an addiction to PH for a couple years now. I relate to the negative thoughts and decision making that you mentioned at 8:00. I hope you can forgive yourself and move past this!

Keep it up ! I took Adderall for one week for an examen and getting off of it give me depression, anxiety. no drive ! only for one week of taking adderal in small dose so imagine for a few years ! Adderal is like a cheat code but for the long run it have a lot a negative impact. It's normal to feel a little tire, you need good sleep , etc . Keep it up, you got this

Hey brother your story really resonates with me. I feel for you and I know the pain. I'm a little bit older but I have been documenting my journey on RU-vid for several years now and RU-vid has made it all but impossible for my channel to grow. As a fellow addict and someone trying to spread harm reduction and save lives I asked that you possibly could share one of my features on your community I need someone to give me a break who has the ability to help get my channel seen by a bigger platforms larger audience - I've done my whole channel while homeless with no electricity or heat charging my phone at random places standing outside your room in the Michigan freezing Winters using the Wi-Fi and I've got several hundred videos I put so much work into it if you would do this for me I would be so grateful much love brother and thank you for sharing your cards.

Thank you so much for posting this video!! It definitely helped me a lot! A lot of people are struggling with this, and in denial that they’re basically addicts, myself included It’s also really downright immoral That companies are now targeting ads to people for what is really speed and Listing a whole bunch of symptoms that honestly everyone has one or two Symptoms, making them get Adderall prescriptions that after a few months or years really start fucking up their lives. To do that explicitly for money is just really immoral in my opinion. It’s not that far from being a drug dealer with the way they conducting business. At the same time though I do think adults should be able to do the drugs they want, so not advocating healthcare providers should be paternalistic. Just don’t think pple realize it can really screw w your life

Thanks for the free content brother. Adderall also built me up to eventually work 80 hour weeks and workout at least 2-4 hours a day and one meal every other day, but the crash is bad. There’s no such thing as a biological free lunch. Life is boring af now tho. Less work less workouts and not much else. Happy ur doing well

I was on it for 18 years. It took me becoming a mom to realize that I did not have a healthy relationship with it. It has been almost a year since I have been off of it and it has been hard but worth it. Excercise, healthy diet and sleep is the best way to help with ADHD.

I'm an addict with 6 years of sobriety, and while this sounds like some severe dependency and abuse, addiction is a bit different depending who you ask - a bit more fundamental. Either way, dealing with it is extremely difficult. Withdrawal from any medication or drug is extremely crappy, despite how much addicts and drug abusers like to compare and claim X is worse than Y. (I was a heroin and cocaine user, a long with meth, crack, benzos... Basically everything lol) I'm glad to hear you got through the worst of it, just make sure you work closely with doctors and be as honest as possible and ask as many questions as possible etc. Good luck man.

i was on adderall from the ages of 12-19(im 33 now) and a couple of years ago i was struggling to find motivation at work and at home to do basically anything so i had this thought of "maybe i should go get a script again and that might help" im glad i didnt but im also kind of on the fence still. ive learned to focus my ADD over the years and can manage pretty well but there are still things in everyday life i struggle with. organization and motivation are the main two. but if they are messing with scripts and flip flopping like you say i guess ill just hold out and try my best to stay off and find a different way. thanks for the info!

I was diagnosed in 2022. I was 43. I'm glad to hear these stories because my instinct was it wasn't going to end well if I started down this path. I still feel a bit on the fence on it all but I took a few different meds and they didn't help me much anyway. I just stopped eating and sleeping so had to come off them anyway because I lost my mind and became delirious and had hallucinations. The withdrawl after a couple of weeks was pretty intense. I was pacing around and ranting the first day I didn't take it.
