just to clarify for people in the comments, the water pump seized just general wear and tear so when that happened the car overheated and alternator belt was rubbing on the water pump pulley and there for the belt snapped because it got wore down. Also the red light means the battery isnt charging because the belt snapped. :)

For the people saying your engine is running rich at 17+ fuel ratio. For every gram of air used in a gas engine, 1 gram of fuel is used. That is 14.7 grams of air to 1 gram of fuel mixture to be optimal. When the level goes over the 14.7, more air is used over the fuel making the engine lean. A alcohol engine will run around 6.3-6.5, where a diesel engine will be in the 17-18 range. The choke starves a engine for air, and makes it start when cold. Making the engine run rich, low air to fuel ratio not lean. Hope that helps with some comments here.

The trigger point for the Drunkman Jokke is indeed next to his house on the road. You have been coming to his house from the "wrong way" and just turning onto his years instead driving to the trigger point that is right next to the turn.

In Finland the mail service is too busy on mowing people's lawns so they don't have the time to pick up outgoing mail while they deliver incoming mail. They even stopped delivering mail on Tuesdays altogether.

You forgot to turn the choke off, hence the air fuel ratio and overheating.

The red light on the dash means that the battery is discharging and not being charged by the alternator. You also have ZERO oil according to the red light left to the blue high beam light under the speedometer.

18:58 Told ya! The fanbelt snapped (was to tight or waterpump or alternator broken), and the red light means it drains batterypower since the fanbelt turns the alternator.

That red light is for the alternator, when it's on the battery isn't charging. It's often on when idling cause the RPM is too low. The clunk you heard was your fan belt snapping, the red light is on because when that happened your alternator also lost drive. The part that broke was your water pump, because your alternator light wasn't initially on.

I wonder if you only get Pike in your fish trap because they eat any smaller fish that get in there? :)

Speaking from experience if you run out of fuel in the boat in the middle of the lake you have to swim to shore an an get some 2 stroke fuel an then swim all the way back out to the boat to fill it up again. What a miserable day in Finland that was 😒

Yes a backpack, or something like that, would be totally reasonable. I always carry at least 4 fish to grandma when I go visit. Never just 1.

Hmm, I don't know which one actually causes the other, but your air-fuel ratio seems to vary in concert with the engine temperature. When you were driving moderately on the dirt tracks before reaching the highway, it was in the 14s (where you want it) and temperature was a little below the middle. After caning it along the highway for awhile the AFR was just nudging into the 16s, somewhat lean, and the temperature just over halfway, but the former (not sure about latter) dropped off into the mid 15s fairly quickly once you'd slowed down again. By the time you picked up Kilju Guy, and when you were first driving him home, it was back to lower-middle temperature and 14s AFR again. But after that crash landing that set the water pump squealing, both of them shot up together. temperature obviously going up but AFR also rapidly reaching the high 17s, and peaking at 17.9 in two or three places. Does the gauge even read into the 18s? Lean mixture tends to make cylinder temperatures higher, so it could well be that the hard landing not only reduced the cooling capacity but delivered the double whammy of also jolting the cacb's mixture screw, , leaning out some and making it even hotter. And indeed, if a warmer engine itself raises the AFR, then you've got something of a positive reinforcement feedback loop going on where only throttling right back can prevent both factors spiralling out of control. Either way, I'd suggest a check of that is in order as well as the accessories and their belt. Particularly for rallying, it suggests you want to set it a little richer than is ideal for cruising around anyway, because as soon as you subject the engine to any stress (such as blasting along the rally course), it's either tending towards lean and so upping the temperature, or getting hot and encouraging lean mixture, or maybe both with that minor feedback loop amplifying the effect. As both a somewhat rich mixture, and an overly lean one (certainly 17:1 or more!) will seriously impact your power output, it seems the best setting for racing is one that sees it running maybe 12:1 AFR at most when idling and cruising slowly, which then translates to a more hard-charging AFR that varies somewhat according to the lie of the course, but is centred around the ideal high-14s region... so you should get more power, more consistently, through the whole run of the race, and enjoy lower engine temperatures to boot. It's not like you're using the car for _that_ much besides rallying and the occasional midnight pickup, after all. It being a little wasteful of fuel and slightly underpowered when just cruising around isn't that much of a problem. But of course when you're on part throttle the maximum potential doesn't matter too much, and after a mere few seconds at full throttle it should come back in to the ideal zone - in fact just prior to running the stage you may want to rev up a few times to add temperature and raise the AFR. Incidentally, as so much on the car seems to use that oddball 7mm socket size (I dunno if I even have one of those in my own sets, though I might have a matching spanner), probably as a nod to various old vehicles with nonsensical or at least hard to buy bolt head sizes, you should probably just default to trying that first for any of the jobs on the car, and only look to the orhers if that one fails.... certainly we've seen the muffler take that before (!), and I can't think of any other size used elsewhere in a distinct and memorable fashion...

A reasuring thing to everyone. I ran out of fuel alfway to the cabin once. And it only took 4 minutes to swim back to the house and get more fuel. I cant remember if it was 4 minutes both ways or only one way. But it did not take long at all. So dont panic if you get stranded in the middle of the lake.

Anyhoot, that being-able-to-carry-only-one-thing-at-a-time thing is weird, I know for a fact that Finns had developed the ability to use both hands by 1995 (and stack things, and use bags and baskets and whatever). This game is really weird in the sense that many things are unbelievably realistic - for example the phone in the house is not just any generic phone, it's the very same phone I had in the 90's, and the house and Teimo's shop are modeled to such accuracy I know what they would SMELL like - and then there's the totally unrealistic carrying thing which should be an easy fix (ability to reuse the shopping bag would be an obvious solution).

About the mod thing, a game isn't always "as the developer intended" due to constraints on time and resources. Maybe he intends to add something in to it, but hasn't been able to due to it taking more time that he wants. I rarely use mods myself, and when I do they are more cosmetic, like the former mudflaps and rally lights, or add some minor QoL that would be justified, like a backpack mod. Additionally, you can self impose limits on how you use the mod. Like not stuffing hoods, exhaust pipes, a couch and filled fuel cans in a backpack, but instead only picking up what you could carry in real life. Using it more as what you could carry in your actual hands, rather than as a backpack.

Squirrel two things First of all you need to come from the highway for it to trigger second of all I've had the exact same thing happen to my engine. There was a hole in my block. Trust me it's not just a belt

Water pump seized breaking the fan belt causing the alternator to stop working hence the red light on the dashboard telling you the battery is not charging... simples!

The house not being burnt seems fishy. If you leave the stove on for more than a few minutes its starts smoking, sets off the smoke detectors, then the whole kitchen bursts into flames.

first time my satsuma soundet like that , it was the cam(misaligned) took some time to figuer that one out :) the fanbelt was ''reset'' with the last update wasent it ?? hence it is missing. a backpack would be cool then one could use the moped to go to the store aswell.

I've given up on the game because it's so rage inducing but even before I quit, I never drove the satsuma because it's so freaking fragile
