Oh, your table is beautiful. When I was younger, I got caught up with all the sparkle and "things." As I'm older I find it has distracted me from sharing time and slowing down to enjoy this special time. I still have traditions that I love, but I find I'm much more relaxed if I let a lot of the self imposed "expectations" go. Thanks for the loving reminder of the reason we celebrate in the first place!

Great idea to use walnuts and other nuts in that DIY tablepiece, once again so pure and simple, and I love that linen tablecloth!

Maria, I think your handmade dishes are lovely! And since they're in a neutral color, you can dress up your table linens with any color that you please! I see nothing wrong with hues of white on white!

Love your simple yet charming table decor. I also like to put the food on another table or even just leave it on the stove and countertops in my kitchen and let everyone make their own plates like they were at a buffet restaurant. Homey and simple, no formality at my place. It also frees up space at the dinner table for more folks and all their elbows, haha! One of the main reasons I don't like to put all the food on the table is that everyone is talking all over the food which is in bowls right in front of them. Call me a tad bit germophophobic 🤔🤪😄. Plus at my house you could never get all I cook on the table! I count my blessings for all the people, food, laughter and, so many times, the pure wild and hilarious chaos the holidays bring. Blessings to you and yours!

Love the rustic simple minimalist look here! I would have added some red cranberries with those nuts which are indigenous to New England. I don't know if you have cranberries/cranberry bogs in Sweden but maybe Lingonberries could be used instead? Great tips...thanks again and Happy Holidays as well~

I love how rustic, simple, with nature you have decorated. I am doing the same. We are not giving gifts this year as we cannot afford to and decided to really enjoy just being together and eating a good meal. Vegan fare for us but I will make 1 non vegan dessert for other family members visiting.
