Imagine it from the other sides perspective...this guy would rarely do anything wrong from his view. This guy chooses certain types of women to be with and says, I hate drama! Are you serious buddy? First came to Thailand in mid-80’s and lived & worked for a Thai company in the 2000’s - my feeling, bar girls have a different emotional tolerance than non-bar girl types. Of course not all Thai girls are the same, but from my experience it seems bar girls including freelancers can be more emotional and narcissistic.

When I lived in Thailand I had an English friend at one of the English language schools where we both worked, and he brought a bargirl back to live with him. A couple of weeks later he decided it was a bad idea and he told her to move out. The next morning he came to work white as a sheet and he told us what happened. She grabbed a huge kitchen knife and held onto the blade with her bare hands (handle extended towards him). He was afraid she would stab him, so he grabbed the knife which cut her hands pretty deeply. She then wiped her blood all over every single piece of clothing he owned, the walls, furniture, etc. We were all speechless listening to the story.

I don’t think it’s just Thai women that can’t control their emotions. Most people cannot. It’s just manifested in different ways. Women in general tend to be more openly emotional than men and use emotion to get what they want.

Why are these men dating bar girls? obviously they are not the most mentally stable considering their life styles, there are many normal girls but I guess they are not as desperate as he ones working in a bar.

Poor guy. Seems he's really into deluding himself. Either he's very naive or he has a thing for rationalizing and romanticizing his life. He's sort of old to still making basic mistakes with women.

My Thai wife does have a hot-headed streak about her, but it's very fast to cool off, and she nearly always says sorry. I love her very much. She was never a bar girl - she worked at the Pandora factory in administration for a decade before finding a de facto there and opening a shop selling Jok and Isaan curries. She made a fortune while her man went out womanising and drinking himself into a stupor every night. She eventually caught him balls-deep in someone else and she broke up with him. He came back with his family and guns and told her to hand everything she had worked for over to them. Her parents had to go collect her and bring her back to the farm. I had decided before I went looking for her that I was going to go live in Thailand. I met her on a Thai specific dating app and flew to Thailand for my first ever visit, thinking, if she didn't turn up, I would at least scope the place out for where I planned to set up my life. She turned up. She was and is the best person I have ever met in my life. What little drama we have is gone in literally minutes and with a little kiss on the cheek and a sorry, it's all forgiven. I can't imagine my future without her.

One of the crazies was slashing her wrists with a knife! I told her she was 'doing it wrong'! What?? I told her she was trying to slice across the veins! I said 'Try lengthways as that will really open the veins and help you die quicker'! She looked at me in disbelief and stopped. She put down the knife down and went away. Never put up with their BS!

500K baht!!! holy cow, money gouging seems to be the way of the Thai! I made a similar decision and emigrated from the UK to New York. For many reasons but also because I got bored silly in the UK. It was a tough transition, for many reasons. Do I harbor regret? Not in the slightest. My 2c on women: seems wherever you go, men and women are just different. Men are from Mars, women from Venus (it's a good book and worth a read). They have estrogen, ovaries: the woman's brain is physically wired differently to a man's brain. A marriage will always be a compromise. And men seem to be the ones' compromising the most. Up to each one of us, to decide if the compromise is worth it.

I don't know if it's exists today, a Thai lady was called Madam something was teaching the ladies through a on line course how to be with a foreign man by crying and many other tricks charging them 5000 Baht. I do know that because my Thai Holliday girlfriend told me when I was together with her. So they learn all that and more in advance you know.

Never buy them anything with real value or give money away. That's rule #1.... if they get mad you don't give them lots of stuff, move on.

I am from Brunei and have been staying in Phuket since April 2023. In January 2024 recently, I met a mancunion guy who has the same age as me and started on the day we met, we spent everyday together for one week. He had been dated two thai bar girls before meeting me and he had bad experience with two of them until he met me. I was expecting he won't contact me again after he went back to UK but contrarily we speak together everyday on video call until one day he asked me to move to UK with him. I've been watching Dan for about 6 months or a year. Seems like a nice guy. Great stories. I wish him luck against all the harpies🤣 Edit: if anyone threatened to kill themselves if I left, and tied something around their neck and pulled it tight, I'd get a comfortable chair, and a cool beverage and watch the the show. I agree with Dan about people being fake in England and the west in general. He’s not perfect and probably responsible for some of his life drama but I enjoy his channel he makes some good videos
