My wife is Thai, she is amazing. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her. You right on about the communication piece, though (9 min in). That was a problem we had early in our relationship. Almost ended ours. She couldn't tell me as an American what was bothering her and expected me to know. As an American male, we need more directness. I now better understand that issues cross culturally. But I would say it seems to be more apparent in Thai females from my experience. The reserved nature. Can't speak worldwide, but in my dating experience.

You girls are genuine normal society lady's and you would be genuine to your relationship, Every guy out there talking about money only ever hang out around NAN 9 Soy Cowboy or Pattaya where the girls only want money. Genuine guy's that live and work in Asia they have amazing relationship. I have been with my wife in Laos for 10 years and we go through everything that a UK UK couple or Thai Thai couple............. avoid the bar girls and meet the real Thai people.🥰

I am happily married 15 years. The big problem is the foreign men look in the wrong places. I know dozens of Thai women and every one is honest. A tip for foreign men dont expect massage girls or freelancers to be good partners.

You and your friend are in Bangkok. You and your friends are likely all well educated and well off by Thai standards. When you say that Thai women aren't after foreigners' money, that may be true for most of the people you know. Away from Bangkok, things are dramatically different.

The advice given is a one-way street (it's all about you); however, in reality, a good relationship is a two-way street. It's about mutual service and support. If I continually give and give while you only take and take, eventually, the giver will feel unappreciated and depleted. This imbalance can lead to frustration and resentment, ultimately causing the giver to withdraw from the relationship. Healthy relationships require effort and contribution from both sides to thrive and sustain mutual respect and satisfaction.

Hi Ying! Nice video like usually!!! Keep the videos coming. I have two comments: 1) about the Thai ladies asking for money scenario. Of course, most foreign men who come to Thailand for short period of time, like holiday etc., will first interact with bar girls ofrfreelance girls...and the moany questions is just how it is. of course they will ask for money...and if foreigners interact only with these kind of ladies, they will have a different experience, and will draw some fast conclusion. 2) when it comes to genuine relationships between Thai lady and forigner man, I think the biggest problem in the culture and tradition. In the West, specially in the cities there is no more culture and tradition, or if it is is very week; on the other hand the Thai culture and tradition is very strong, and in top of that Thailand was never colonized by western countries ( like was the case with Viethnam, Laos, Malayesia, or other countries), which make the Thai culture very closed and strong. So, now image a relationship between a westerner and a Thai lady: the man with almost no traditions and culture, except the freedom of doing how he please and a Thai lady representing centuries of culture and tradition. It is not easy, and I think this is the biggest challenge.

As for a point whether a Thai person would like foreigners to speak Thai, I guess Thai person wouldn't like for a foreigner speak Thai only if such Thai person have some kind of plans to manipulate foreigners. Otherwise I agree in general that people in the world would enjoy having any foreigner trying to talk in their local language.

I think a big problem is about foreign men dating thai ladies, which come mostly to thailand for holidays and think with money they can buy everything, included a relationship. I have seen so many stories in these years personally, where foreigners pay for the thai lady holiday back in europe for example, or ask her to quit job to stay with her, propose a salary more than her salary, and these girls accept eventually, buy her a house, and do everything to show off. Foreign men in thailand they work remote, have a free time always and want a girl willing to do same so here come the money offered to them. So when a normal guy comes after, they will expect the same.

From experiencing ten years of relationshio thai/farang i would say there are no worse gaps but the silent treatment. Just not acceptable so i broke up. Connected again and happened again so i broke up again.

Regarding that, we fell behind in both cases and got unfair consequences. I have never met a Thai girl who wanted my money. Quite the opposite, in fact. All of the Thai girls I have spent time with were quite generous, and never asked for a single thing from me. I think that some men are just chasing the wrong types of girls (bar girls) & looking for love in the wrong places (Pattaya). I was in a long-distance relationship with a Thai woman for three years. Although she never asked me for money, I did feel resentment from her that I wasn't sending her monthly support. She had a great job as an HR manager with the Thai government and owned her own house so I didn't think she needed the monetary support. Occasionally, my ex-girlfriend would tell me about her friends who were getting money from their foreign boyfriends but never directly complained that I was not doing the same. I eventually broke off the relationship when her resentment turned into frequent petty arguments unrelated to money. I chose not to send her money because we were in a long-distance relationship and at any time she could break up with me for another man, and I would be out all of the money that was sent to her! If we lived together in Thailand, I would contribute money to help her better her life.

I'm going to be straight- up with you being a farang living in Thailand now for over 3 years now. Long story short, farangs in Thailand are, for the most part, bad news. The type of Western men who are in Thailand are, for the most part, not normal relationship guys. A normal Western man would never ever hang out with a random girl or any girl one-on-one when they are in a committed relationship. It seems that the men that are attracted to Thailand are quite honestly pretty creepy dudes for the most part. Of course there are exceptions, but this is all from my experience probing a few friends and talking to many girls about their experiences. One of my best friends who is a girl has been trying to be in a committed relationship with Western men for over a decade now. Each time it ends in heartbreak for her. It's quite obvious to me that Western men living here either have a lower moral compass or once they get here, they realize how much easier it is to "get girls" they could never dream of getting back home, so they can't control their urges. I say this being a farang living in Thailand, but then again, I'm not in a committed relationship, so my conscious is clean...ish :)

One thing i'm curious about. Thai women are known to be very jealous BUT many married women or ones that have bfs, have IG accounts with bikini or cute photos on them. Don't their husbands/bfs get jealous or are they not allowed to? I see some teachers, nurses even royal Thai airforce women with bikini photos *some wearing wedding rings* on IG. You'd think the jealousy would be canceled out cause they have lots of guys gawking at their photos. Seems a bit unfair.

thank you, two very lovely sweet thai girls. About the comment on money, thought the commenter was unkind and maybe even bitter about some bad experiences he might have had. The fact that he thinks all thai are unworthy of friendship tells me he hasn't experienced thai people from all over thailand, except maybe as you say bargirl types. But I do agree with him on the money point. I have had serious relationships with two Isaan women, one of which I know is a know is a good quality person, kind, respectful, loyal, strong morals. Both of them definitely expected to be financially supported, even when first dating. There are many women in Isaan who feel that farang should be giving them a salary like, 10,000-25,000 BHT. My current gf says it is thai culture for the man to take care of the woman. Maybe in BKK or Chiang Mai, places with better economic opportunities, it is different, but my honest experience with two normal thai women is that they expect to be financially supported.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful. To be honestly, this wasn't very helpful. Maybe the topic isn't correct. Topic should be more like... "How to choose or where to look a good Thai woman? " or "How to avoid a bad Thai woman? " Simply who left comments like "Thai women only wants money from foreign boyfriend".. I believe they meet their Thai girlfriend from either dating site or Go Go Bar. I have also made a same mistake before, and I learn my lesson. I don't want to blame anyone.. Foreignors are too different from country to country, by race, age and upbringing to be lumped together in one category. An observation about sensitivity is many people who are sensative or emotional tend to be focused too much on themself. These same sensative people can be very rude and not consider other peoples fealings; in my opinion.

When I was young, in my home country (Hungary) girls used to be like You both. And most of the boys were like You expect them to be. The money problem with Thai girls of some foreign guys, I am nearly sure is, that old men want young girls. Those relationships are not normal, not equal.

I was in a relationship with a Thai woman until a few weeks ago . I still live in Canada but I will move to Thailand after i sell everything here. Over one year in the relationship , i bought a iPhone and gave her over 300000 baht , she had no problems asking for money every month . I met her for only one month in Bangkok , we traveled to a few beautiful places in Thailand . The reason why i ended the relationship is because last month she asked me to send her 35000 baht and she got angry when I refused . She is working in Bangkok , makes 20000 baht per month and living with her mother who is also working , i don't understand why she needs money from me , how was she able to make ends meet before she met me i don't understand . Maybe I'm just too gullible.

Yes, it harms the reputation of romantic relationships in the land of smiles, but is it so different in Western countries? You also have to ask yourself...
