My thoughts on becoming a Pilot | Final Flight Test
As you probably guessed from the title of this video, I recently passed my flight test and fulfilled a childhood dream of mine to be a pilot. I was hoping to film the whole test but wasn't able to. Instead, I made this short video expressing my thoughts on the student pilot journey.
A big thanks to my instructor Bruce from Fly Illawarra. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor, and very grateful to him for allowing me to film the whole flying journey. You can check out the whole series below:

ABOUT ME:
I'm a student pilot learning to fly in my spare time. I originally received 30 hours of flying instruction 17 years ago and now I'm back in the cockpit and learning how to fly all over again.
Currently flying out of Wollongong (YWOL) and Camden (YSCN), Australia in light sport aircraft such as the Jabiru and Pipestrel alpha with Fly Illawarra, as well as the Citabria with Curtis Aviation

Add my accolades for job well done...but even more bouquets to a Bruce your instructor. Great patience with much wisdom. Great combination when learning to fly. See you at Fly Illawarra in May.

You are lucky to have good instructors. My first cross country instructor just said "See that mountain, go for it." Nothing about coordinating the D.I. with the compass, nothing about, ground to map, etc. Now however all that is in the past.

I have been watching these videos all year as I have been doing my own training... they have been really helpful and given some good heads up on what to expect. After passing my flight test yesterday, the new year is all about cross country and some new adventures.. Great work on these and happy new year

Good job mate, as someone who is two-hours pre-solo, your videos have helped me out immensely. Tiny little things which I've picked up during your flying has helped me to become a better pilot :) Good luck with your x-country endorsement!

Great job! I'm in Wollongong these two days, drove past the airport and saw the massive banner. Bummer! I had missed out on Wings Over Illawarra. Thought it was the following weekend. Anyhow, can't wait to see more of your video's especially cross country and the gyrocopter (which I'm flying at YLMQ). Keep it up.

Congratulations!!!! I own a Jabiru SP 470. Love it to bits. I have just redone the dash and instruments......and used the 170's layout as the benchmark, cause I enjoyed your videos from the first video. I plan on creating my own inflight videos as well as soon as its finished. Will ask your advice on creating the same quality audio and video. Thanks to you and Bruce. Please dont stop!!!

Excellent videos! I've watched every one so far. I'm currently in RPL training just north of you at the central coast. I'm currently up to circuit training and touch and goes. (Flying the Cessna 150).

Just finished the playlist, Happy to watch it and I look forward to seeing what happens in my next lesson as always! Yes, you are not mistaking when you say gotta push to get back into the cockpit. I had that after my 2nd lesson, I applied throttle to fast and was not aware of the noise etc it could make. Therefore I was shocked and wasn't a fan of the adrenaline for a few weeks. But now I'm happily flying with Bruce and made some half decent progress. Still waiting for my crappy landing though lol. Do you go to Fly Illawarra to rent aircraft or something anymore? Never seen you around, Maybe cause I fly mainly on weekday arvos.

Hey man I just finished my 3rd RPL lesson Climbing and decending. It didn't go too well couldn't maintain the propper settings and it just basically didn't go the way I wanted. The instructors clearly think i couldn't move on so I think I'm going to have an extra lesson on this but it seems a bit out of reach any tips on passing through these types of challenges?
