👍 Thanks for clearing that up… I ordered the i3T thinking that I ordered the same one I did the first time…(which was the I5T). I hadn’t changed the battery yet it lasts so long, that I read in the i3t AAA and was thinking they were the same. I like them both for what I use them for which is something small for just lighting up what’s right in front of me. Appreciate it 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance no problem brother, I been buying Olight since they started back I like 2016 I believe with the small AAA i3E EOS in all different colors at 90 lumens for a tiny light, after awhile they blew up huge and have a big line now, to me they are the best, all my friends in law enforcement use the lights, I do mods on the lights and there is a FB group that does mods and you can’t get good info, I usually carry the i3T but I use a 10440 3.7V on it and it packs a major punch, a lot of us carry an extra battery because that extreme brightness causes it to get a bit hot and at full blast it’s so bright, it’s not rated for the 3.7V but the group uses it all the time and none of us have no issues with the LED blowing out, but it voids the warranty of course. It will only work on the i3T not the i5T with a 14500 3.7V lithium battery or it will blow for sure.
@@Jesus_Strong thanks for the tip… I had another comment that recommended using that type of battery but I wasn’t 100% sure it would work. Thanks buddy 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance it will work but keep spare batteries because they do go out fairly easy, on the low setting it’s bright enough with that battery if you get more milliamp hours for runtime, but on high that thing is a massive bright flashlight if you need to light up an area for a short time. Pretty cool mod everyone uses. I have a pouch from Etsy that is an EDC pouch that can hold a few daily carries, check there stuff out to keep it all in one spot.
Glad I could help… if you can solve woodworking problems you can be a maintenance man… I tell everybody the process of most work is the same way of thinking, just with different materials.
I find myself using the screwdriver on my fastback almost as much as the blade. The fact that the bit, when open, is in the center of the handle makes it much more effective than my leather man that I used to carry.
The Milwaukee fastback knife lives in my pocket along with my Gerber even outside of projects / job sites. It’s super handy to have the screwdriver without the bulk of a multi tool.
Appreciate that you take the time to explain why you love the tool. It does make the video longer, but it also helps those who are serious to make a good buying decision. I bought several tools through your links and thank you.
I appreciate that… I always think I talk to much. I don’t talk a lot in general.. but if you get me talking about tools…. That’s why I try to put chapters in most videos. If I start rambling people can skip ahead. Thanks again for watching and supporting the channel 👍
It’s my favorite of the smaller bag line that I’ve used. You can fit a bunch in it and the outside pockets make it better than the XL… IMO. Thanks for sharing 👍
Yeah it’s nice to throw stuff in it and close it up knowing it’s not going anywhere. Nothing worse than dropping stuff in attic insulation… it is gone 😂 I’ve been hooked on the fastbacks since the first one I bought… the screwdriver has just been a nice addition. Appreciate you sharing 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance as a residential electrician, I use the Milwaukee packout tote. I can take a slim organizer along with the Joey pouch into an attic and have all the connectors & staples I need👍🏼
I bought one of the Milwaukee Half Boxes… like the ammo style (not sure the name) to throw stuff in for crawlspaces and attics for the same reason. I went with the hard container because the crawlspaces around me can get nasty. I can wash it off a little easier.
The Milwaukee m12 cross line laser and the Milwaukee detector has been one of my favorite tools I bought this year. So handy to have the ability to quickly put things in plain.
I just stumbled across your channel and subscribed, like yourself I am an organized tool freak, the right tools along with organization makes any job simpler ,easier and more profitable,I'm hooked 😊
OK, OK! You convinced me I now also need the Knipex Twingrip!! LOL! I also picked one up for my buddy to introduce him to Knipex. And I grabbed one of the Railers as well to give it a try....I suspect I'll pick up more so that I have them on my house toolbag, my car tool bag, my work tool bag, and my garage toolbag. My favorite tool this year though was the Wera micro screwdriver 25 piece set. I had the smaller Wera set, and had been watching the 25 piece set for a long while. It normally runs about $112 to $150, and I lucked out one day and found it on Amazon for $99. I was mostly glad that I finally got the deal I'd been watching for! LOL. I love Wera stuff, so I felt like I won a lottery!
I did the same thing with my buddy on a set of Cobras. He wouldn’t buy any because he didn’t feel they would be any different than what he had…. Long story short I gave him his Gateway Pair of Knipex pliers 😂 I keep a long list of tools in an Amazon list that I scroll through periodically… not a much better feeling than when you see one of the drop in price significantly 👍 WERA makes great tools… all mine other than my Torque Screwdriver were 2021 purchases.
Hey Joey I have really enjoyed watching the progress of your channel. I especially appreciate that you are an active contractor and not just a RU-vid personality that used to be one. It means a lot to see what a pro is actually using in the field. One EDC tool that I started using in 2022 is the WorkPro stainless belt clip utility knife. It’s super slim and fits into my right pant pocket easily. Just this Christmas season I bought the Milwaukee fastback knife with the screwdriver, that you carry. But I still haven’t opened the package😂. I hope your 2023 is absolutely awesome. Keep up the great work.👍👍👍
Yeah they put that Particular Fastback on sale since they were selling it with another knife for the $19.99 original price since the Black Friday sales started. Before they sold out you could get for $10. I think I have seen that knife on Amazon. They have multiple Work Pro knives but the one I looked at was really thin. I thought it probably fit nice in a pocket. I haven’t tried any Work Pro stuff because I hadn’t heard anyone talk about them much. I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks for the encouragement, I’ve learned a lot over the last year on RU-vid. I actually never really set out to have a channel when I started, but decided to give it a go after I started getting feedback and getting to know people. I plan on working for as long as my body allows. I love doing it…. And I’m much better at it than I am an actor/cameraman/editor 😂
@@MORGANSMaintenance you might consider spreading out to other platforms, such as TikTok rumble telegram, etc. The work pro knives are awesome and I give them out as gifts and no one has told me they don’t appreciate them.
@@geoffap0 I was just talking to my wife about that yesterday. I’m not on any other Social Media… I am on Facebook with a made up name just so I can buy things on Marketplace. I have zero friends 😂. (I used to be on Facebook and Twitter, but couldn’t take them anymore) I may look into it eventually, if I have more time to spend learning how some of them work. I may be one of the few who have never been on TikTok or Instagram.
You sold me on the Milwaukee impact set. For a basic complete set with extensions $100 isn't bad. My favorite tool buy should be the Knipex PliersWrench ComfortGrip since I bought 2 for myself and 2 for my mechanic brother and they get a lot of use, but for $30 the 4" Cobra mini is in my EDC and I've already had a tool to fix a minor problem in the field in front of coworkers and bosses several times. Moments like that build up a reputation over time and you can't put a price on that.
Yeah, those are the fixes when you turn into “the guy who can fix anything” I don’t have that small of them… but I prefer the smaller sizes. The 7 1/4 are my “go to’s”. Those may be a 2023 Top 10 😂 That set for $99 is a good deal. I bought them awhile back as the deal of the day… but I want to say a payed maybe $109. I didn’t “need” them… so I was reluctant, but I’m glad I bought them. Thanks for your thoughts 👍
I have two favorite tool buys in 2022. 1. Spring Tools 28R45-1 Hammerless Center punch. 2. Olfa SCR-S scraper. This fits a niche between a glass scraper and a putty knife.
Great video, definitely have that icon mini ratchet set on my list, but my harbor freight is always OOS. My favorite purchase this year was maybe my Bosch Blaze laser measure. Been great for indoor use. Im team streamlight for my light, the microstream is their version or your olight i3t, same size and clip and everything. They're great.
Laser Measurers are great... Bosch are my go to on those also. I used to have some Streamlight Pen Lights back in the day that I really liked. Thanks for the suggestions 👍
Great video👍🏻 yesterday I rushed to Home Depot to check out that 3/8 impact set and it was on sale for $99, I’m so pleased with it. Very glad I caught this video. I also bought the m12 hatchet on sale for $149 and after taking down an arborvitae today, that might be my “purchase of the year” 👌🏻
The little Olight rechargeable and the Milwaukee screwdriver knife goes on my pocket along with my keys. The Olight will run on an alkaline battery with slightly lower lumens. Like you, I’ll never go back to rusty drywall tools again after buying a set of Level 5 knives. The Knipex TwinGrip is on one of my most favorite and useful tools for 2023. Only had them for a short time but they sure do grab and hold on to things.
Love my Milwaukee 3/8” socket sets! Something I don’t hear mentioned a lot is when they released these sets they released huge sockets that you don’t usually see in the 3/8” drive size. I’ve got up to 1” and 24mm which have saved the day more than once on friends trucks.
Yeah I have their regular socket sets and these impacts… they are both top notch in my opinion. They normally have them on deals of the day pretty regular on Home Depot’s website. Thanks for your… perspective 👍
Great tips and tools! Thank you for making this video. I will pickup the Icon ratchet and bit set, and the vessel screwdriver. I agree with you, love my Milwaukee Fastback - very handy.
The dewalt black n gold drill bits are really good, and on sale 14 piece for $10 and some change at lowes. Yellow and or red Lumber crayons work well on dark wood, and roof shingles. Happy New Year
Right now where I live it's -4°C/24°F. A week ago it was -10°C/14°F. And it started to snow heavily. And of course I had to do some outdoor job using 2-storey high scaffolding. At my local building material supplier I've found work gloves made of rubber foam. They're 100% waterproof, but don't give you sweaty palms. They're thin enough to work with small elements or screws, but they give a decent insulation in below 0°C conditions. That's my tool revelation of 2022 (and Knipex Smartgrip pliers, but it's Knipex, so it's obvious). Summary videos are a good idea, because of their informative value.
It’s cooling off where I am now too. We are supposed to get down to 6°F next week. Those 10” SmartGrips are on my “spend my gift cards on” list. Will be a 2023 tool for sure. Stay Warm my friend!
@@salemkaresllc7309 I’m interested too…I haven’t found any where I can still feel what I’m doing… What I really need is some socks… my feet are what always get me.
@@salemkaresllc7309 Gloves I'm using are called WonderGrip Aqua Waterproof Safety Work Gloves. They may be available only in Europe, I think. If I need extra insulation I wear two pairs - normal, fleece gloves and on them a size bigger waterproof gloves. If it's really cold - like below -15°C/5°F, I use additionally chemical hand warmers.
@@MORGANSMaintenance Couple of years ago when I was working more often outside in the winter, I wear heated socks. You can get 3 pairs between 15-25 USD on Amazon. Now I'm using normal winter work socks and it works perfectly. The most important thing are the shoes. I never wear the same pair of shoes day by day. I always buy at least two pairs of the same model and wear them by turns. This way they're always dry and NOT smelly. I don't dry work boots with any heaters or dryers, because it make the shoes uncomfortable.
Buy a Veto tool bag. You won't regret it. Yes they are pricey, but buy a bag that lasts. Also, stainless steel mud knives are a must have if you do much drywall mudding and taping. My favorite tool purchase in 2022 is the 12 volt Bosch random orbit sander and the 12 volt planer is awesome too. My most used tool is my Leatherman Surge with the bit extender and extra bits.
I’ve got that little 12v Bosch Planer. I love that thing. It’s the only hold over from my 12v Bosch tools. I agree on the Veto and Stainless knives 100% Thanks for sharing your thought 👍
Have you tried the Quick Wedge screwdrivers? They are great for installing electrical cover plate slot screws. You won't chip the paint of the screws because the screwdriver locks in the slot. You can flick the screwdriver back and forth and the screw won't fall off! Keep up the good work.
No I haven’t tried or seen those… I will search that out. The Laser tip WERA 5.5 screwdriver has been my go to lately, it does the same with the flick. Appreciate the suggestion 👍
All good picks . My number one tool has to be the vessel ratcheting Phillips screwdriver with the stubby . I absolutely love that tool . I also purchased the flat head ratcheting screwdriver and some vessel bits that are great as well . Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Thanks. It doesn’t surprise me the Vessel bits are good. Their screwdriver heads all have pretty good fitment…. That Phillips you have in particular is a really good Phillips head, not just the handle. Merry Christmas to you too 👍
loving the Tang Thru, ty! Also, the Twingrip is awesome for electricians: it can twist wires, tighten the all-thread nut in the back of a box, tighten 3/4" EMT fittings, and quickly deal with knock-outs.
Glad you like the Tang Thru…. Yeah the TwinGrip has been one of my favorites…. Seems like you find a new place to use it every week that is just easier than another tool.
Great video! I was laughing through most of it because your list was incredibly similar to what mine would be with the exception of the drywall tools because I just never get into drywall work. My favorite tool became my favorite overnight, I got the knipex twin grip pliers for Christmas and first time I used them I asked myself why I waited so long to get them. Olight flash lights are the best, I have probably 6 or more different ones and always have one on me. Been looking into the Joey Bags, thanks for that part of the video, you answered my concerns. About the fast back Milwaukee knife (I have 2 and love them both and would never give one up), but a similar product is from Kershaw knives (I don’t recall the name, but it’s easy to find). They make a regular style pocket knife with the same type of screw driver set up except it has 4 different bits but even better it’s the standard small 1” bits and they store in the side of the handle. I like it because I can replace the standard bits with the ones I need handy in a pinch. Extremely affordable about same price as fast back.
Great Minds think a like… it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if I didn’t get into drywall, but it pays the bills 😂. Appreciate the info on the Knife, will have to check that out 👍
Knipex Cobras are real good for black iron pipe, they’ve successfully replaced my channel locks. My 18v Ridgid miter saw is pretty good too, the slide is nice and it cuts through 2x4 with no adjustment and it can cut bigger boards which is nice but Not really a big need for me. I also got a pallet buster and a quick release magnet to grab loose nails.
Cobras are great. I bought them in 2021 or they would have 100% been on the list. I bought a M18 7-1/4 Miter Saw this year that I love. I almost bought the Ridgid version because of the price, my corded miter saw is a Ridgid… I went with the M18 mostly because I didn’t want to mess with another battery/charger. Thanks for sharing your favorites 👍
Love the MCT! However, no blackout here, stay in their marine bag line with the TPR over molded bottom to not scratch teak decks or teak/holly cabin soles. The riggers bag is an amazing open top bag for working at heights in a harness. Using the CTXL’s as well for carrying in larger tools and parts. (Packout boxes can’t always come onto the boat/yacht)
It’s been my favorite bag of theirs so far. I had the regular before getting the Blackout, I was fine with it. I only upgraded to get the TP-LC for free that I was wanting to buy. I bet those Marine bags come in handy for you. That’s what’s cool about Veto to me… who else is going to make a bag like that.
I am not an Olight fan boy, but I carry the I5R everyday. I had an I5T which is the AA batterie version like the one you showed and carried it everyday for about three years before having issues with the switch and a broken pocket clip. I have tried other single AA size flashlights, but the Olight is the best size and the two light levels with the momentary tail switch are the best I have found. Great video! Your reasoning for your choices is very helpful and your explanation of each tool is perfectly comprehensive.
Appreciate the compliment. I love my OLight light… it wouldn’t hurt melt feelings for it to be brighter but I pretty much use it for an up close light. Thanks for the insight 👍
My top 2022 purchase is my 13-in-1 Milwaukee screwdriver with ECX bit. It's replaced my Klein, and love ECX for electrical. Also, whatever brand socket I have, I use a paint marker to put the sizes all around the socket. I like those Milwaukee sockets, but most of the time you can't see the size. Needs to be in 3 or 4 places.
I know several people who like that screwdriver. I am an ECX bit fan myself. I bought a double ended one to keep in my original Klein 11-1 and I also keep both sizes in bit drivers in my MCT ready to go. It would have been nice for them to put the markings in more places. It wouldn’t be a big deal if I kept them in my toolbox, but these ride in my truck so they aren’t always “right side up” when I open them. Appreciate you sharing your favorite tool. 👍
Most definitely the most used is the Acebeam Rider RX, which is a competitor to that Olight. I would recommend it, if you can get over the fidget function.
You’ve caused me to investigate personal loans available from various banks because you’ve got such awesome finds on all these fantastic tools. Great channel and I’ve devoted way too much time lately to your great videos. Mahalo sir🤙🤙
Appreciate that… I’m a wallets worst enemy 😂 I tell people all the time… I’m not the greatest speaker, filmer, or editor…. But I love tools. Buying them, looking at them, using them, talking about them… I have a problem 😂 Thanks again 👍👍
I’m gonna get me 1 of the Olights and that Icon ratchet set. I had the Big ass channellock crescent wrench in hand the other day but I got sidetracked and didn’t get it. I think my favorite tool purchase this year is knipex pliers wrench. So many tools, so little time. 😂
Yeah I know, if I bought everything I wanted, I’d be broke but I wouldn’t even have time to use them for opening packages 😂 The $29 OLight has a brighter setting than the $19 one, but I use mine as a close range flashlight/headlamp. I nearly always use the lowest setting. Pliers wrench is pretty sweet. It has moved adjustable wrenches use to not as often for me. There are still times I prefer one over the other.. but Pliers wrench is more often.
2 tools I can think of hand that I got this year 1. Kodiak lighting flashlight Iam always buying flashlight for edc and it was 20$ it has 4 different settings with the highest setting is 5000 Lumins and it's a small light rechargeable and you can put a normal battery in it if need be and 2. Milwaukee m12 heated hoodie no complaints yet besides I wish the hoodie had the same battery holder with the USB plug that the jacket does
5000 Lumens is pretty sweet. I have a Hoodie that I work in and the Jacket for nicer stuff.. or rain. I really like them both too. Thanks for the suggestions 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance BTW I like the Channel It's cool to hear you talk about how much you enjoy and like tools that are well made and make the job easier because I know everyone has been in that situation with a shitty tool and it is either cost them time or money and not having the right tool for the job sucks. Just wanted to thank you for the content and the information on different tool. Thanks man
@@SLAYBACK5 you are welcome… I really appreciate that. Yeah it stinks to spend money on a tool that you think will work a certain way… then you find out it doesn’t. Thanks again for the feedback and for watching
That’s a nice purchase. I have the Dewalt corded version and I love it, have an adapter to use my router on the tracks too. It’s so much nicer than shoving sheet goods through a table saw. Appreciate you sharing 👍
Thanks for the tips! I plan to buy that Icon ratchet and I'd never seen those rails. They're on my wish list now. And I'm with you on the sockets. It hurt a bit in 2019 to spend about $70 on a black Stanley set. But I can clearly see what size each one is, have both metric and imperial, 3/8 and 1/4 inch. I've used them a LOT. And if I want to downsize and get a smaller set, that set is now $130! I was living in the Caribbean, and it's probably the only metal thing I have that didn't rust!
I work in hvac an the Kinpex cobra has change my work I can use them for almost anything and sometimes I feel like I'm sending it to hard and I'm going to damag them but here they are my only regret is not getting comfort grip .chang my line of work
I have some Knipex comfort grip and some regular. My personal preference is the regular just for the thinner handles, but I get wanting the comfort grips. I agree with you, the Cobras… though they look similar, they perform better than the others. Appreciate your thought and you watching 👍
I just ordered the most expensive connect fix wrench pliers I have to date. They can't do a hundred and ten dollars there 10 inch long with a 15 degree angled head on them. What that allows you to do is get in nice and tight to nuts bolts that are flush with another surface that you do not have good access to. I've been dreaming of such as type of pair of pliers for decades and never knew they existed till I saw them on Amazon one day
I saw those the other day… they look identical to the Level 5… I almost would bet they are made at the same place. The Wallboard I have is pretty good. I just think I would like that little nub on the handle.
Here is what i have learned over the years, the alkline batteriers will leak and be dead most of the time when you need them. My go to lights are from Nitecore, they are mil spec and the batteries are Lithium Ion, I carry an 1800 lumin (P10i) on my belt always, and it is not only the brightest light you will need and it is also a weapon if needed (blinding strobe) and it will still be charged in the coldest weather no matter how long it is stored
Thanks for sharing the Nitecore… I will check those out. I always have the other problem, I need to use my flashlight but didn’t charge it. I like being able to just swap out batteries instead of waiting for it to charge.. In the long haul the Rechargeable is cheaper and better for most people.. I just don’t like having so much to remember to charge (phone, watch, tool batteries, flashlight, etc) That’s a me thing… most people prefer the rechargeable. Thanks for your thoughts 👍
My happy tool (s) is my 1/4 inch impact set from Gearwrench, and the long 90 tooth ratchet and the flex ratchet. I didn't realize how important this set is and how i can get into places that a 3/8 socket will not fit, these are now my go to instead of the 3/8, simply amazing
@@frankhorton7329 the flex ratchets were new to me this year too. All I have are 1/4” of those and they are nice. I use 1/4” more than anything and keep those in my bag (Makita Impact Sockets). I have the 3/8 set for my biggest set in my truck because it has the most range for just in case. Thanks for sharing.. I have a few Gearwrench items but not many. I bought an extractor socket set of theirs… it’s pretty nice 👍
Hey nice video. Knipex are really nice tools. Maybe you get a chance to try their "Pliers and a wrench in a single tool" (e.g. Knipex 86 01 180) I prefer them instead of these adjustable wrenches. You have way more holding force with them. You also could use it as a small press. Best wishes from Germany.
Thanks.. yes I have several pairs of those and I prefer them over adjustable wrenches also. I bought all mine in 2021 or they would have for sure made the list (same with Cobras) Knipex is great. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
Yeah my headlamp is a little brighter…. But this being in my pocket I use it significantly more. I would normally throw a flashlight in my mouth to have a two free hands than walk to my truck to get a headlamp… so being able to throw it on my hat = no more flashlight in mouth…
Been looking for that Icon bit socket for a year. Never in stock. The fastback with the screwdriver is awesome. Have that or the leatherman skeletool in a pocket Nice light. I just found the Milwaukee inspection light with laser on sale for $30 instead of $50. Bought 2. Told the wife and kids it’s what I wanted. 50 is too much. 30 while pricy is ok for the quality of light and having multiple so can charge one while using. They don’t charge fast so need 2 but the bite end, the run time(couple hours on high) the light quality. My wife was upset when she found I bought 2 after telling her to get me 1 for Christmas. I told her not to worry. I started with the usb rovers this year and liked the light so much more than my other little lights I spent a lot on Milwaukee rechargeable lights even only getting on sales. The light quality is just better I hate using non Milwaukee lights now. Waiting for that new one to go on sale. 100 or 150 is too much. But I have plenty of those batteries now, so I see a decent price I’ll snatch 1 or 2. Was excited for my twin grips. They are ok. Don’t regret them at all. Just always have to use the dremel to cut a slot and a flat screwdriver to get the bad ones started. I have the M12 rotary. Not a new tool but I always have with me, use all the time. If I wasn’t on M12 I don’t know what other brand I’d go with. You need swappable batteries in my opinion. A guy in the shop borrows mine frequently, he uses craftsman 20volt and got that version, he still borrows mine. So can’t recommend the craftsman version Thanks for sharing
Yeah I’ve been hearing that from everyone on the ICON wrench. I’ve never seen it in my store ever the times I go there. I ordered mine online and payed shipping. The Milwaukee lights are great. I have a few of the USB rechargeable ones (headlamp and rover) and the are super bright with great light. The M12 Rover Service light I have probably gets used the most. I always buy my tools on deal too. I never pay full price. I have to either get some $ off, a free battery, or something. They run different specials so often, you normally don’t have to wait long. What’s your opinion of the fastback with the screwdriver attachment vs the old fastback that was just a knife. I have the old version and love it but love the idea of the screwdriver but when I handled it I felt like it wasn’t as sturdy and maybe somewhat plastic? Just curious your opinion
It’s my favorite one so far.. the screwdriver has become very useful. I have used muons every day since it came out and I’m still on the same knife. It’s held up very well.
Hey great video! I would try out the Knipex Pliers Wrench instead of those Milwaukee adjustable wrenches. They don't have a thin jaw, so the Channel Locks might still be really handy.
That’s what I have in my bag. I keep the Pliers Wrench and the Channel Locks. The Milwaukees stay in my garage toolbox now (I had them before I found the pliers wrench 😂)
Great stuff. One tip, you can get USB rechargeable Li-Ion AAs for your flashlight and it might put out more light. Sometimes the battery is the only difference and you'll save $$ on batteries over the long haul.
@@playdg They often work in modern AA flashlights, but are a little bigger typically than AAs, right? The difference in voltage 3.6v vs AA 1.5v can sometimes be problematic too, read the manual to make sure!
@@playdg Exactly, and this Olight specifically says it is not compatible with Li-Ion, but that usually means 14500s and similar, not Li-Ion with AA specs of 1.5v output. The I5R version has a Li-Ion with 50 more lumens on max, but I'd guess if you pulled it out and tested the battery it would be similar to the AA Li-Ion replacements you can find. The AA version also says it is compatible with NiMH which typically run at 1.2v (you may find many devices that only like 1.4v and have problems with NiMH AA replacements).
While I always learn something from these videos and have found some good tools, I have to take them with a grain of salt as so much of the gear looks like it has never been off the bench top, much less seen a work site. I love a clean and organized kit, but the reality of getting stuff done is that things stop looking brand new in pretty short order. Even the tools in computer clean rooms get patina from use. No grease, no paint, no dust, no dirt, no scuffs, no scratches, no tears, no frayed edges means you're either not using it, or so obnoxiously OCD that things take forever to complete. Hell, if I had the ability to make money from collecting tools and writing them off as business expenses for video production, I'd love it and can't blame anyone who does, but if I guy comes on with a dirty, grimey, scratched tool he's been using and abusing on the job for a year and gives it a recommendation, good or bad, I'll trust that over the guy discussing his favorite ones of his thousands of dollars of unblemished gear that he's collected/bought/been given over the last year.
I get it… but it would be a horrible investment to spend this much on tools for what I make on RU-vid… I have 10k’s subscribers not a million. But I get the comment a lot, so I made a video. We all perceive things differently sometimes. I work a certain way, I make good money, and it works for me. I am a RU-vid SCAMMER! / Your tools are TOO CLEAN! / Why don't you USE them! I could care less if anyone buys anything I’ve bought. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I can appreciate that and have seen other videos of your truck load out that has pretty clearly seen plenty of use and more usual wear and tear, it's just when the bags and tools on the bench look brand new... like BRAND brand new... it's reasonable to question how much use that particular gear really sees. I can clearly see the use and wear on the drywall gear, the fast back and the flashlight, but some of the other stuff looks absolutely perfect. Hell, I've got some tools I really love but don't use specifically to keep them in good shape, like a 2017 limited-edition US-made Craftsman ratchet & socket set in blue chrome, but my daily carry, mechanic, plumbing and electrician gear are inevitably worn and dirtied to some extend with nearly every use. Some will clean up with a little spray and a blue rag, but those ones that look untouched I think it's okay to have that grain of salt to go with what is otherwise a really great video with a ton of great info.
@aaronsbarker I understand completely. I have so many tools it’s impossible for me to wear them all out (don’t tell my wife, she is under the impression I still need some 😂) Most the ones on my bench (or even my garage) in videos see very little action. They are all spares, or things that have been replaced with something else I prefer, or am trying out. If it’s not in my truck, it’s not getting used often. Tools are my thing. I know I buy way too many, but it’s what I like and spend my extra money on. I decided to make videos just so people can see some of them before they spend their money. Early in my career I didn’t have the funds to have many misses on tools. Nothing I hated worse than spending money on a tool and find out it didn’t do something I thought it did. My goal is to help people avoid that if I can. Like I said, I get it from people on RU-vid and also from people I work around when they see me cleaning my tools. I know I’m a little overboard on it, but it’s how I prefer to keep my stuff. It never bothers me and I appreciate someone’s honest take on what they see anytime. Again, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance Another Stunt I pulled with my fastback , I bought a set of the Milwaukee double ended bits ( 4 or five double enders ) , made a cover for them and put it on a short Paracord lanyard ( loops around the “ baby finger “ ) . I kinda like the option of keeping my “ Sharps “ tethered !
The Vessel ratchet screwdriver has a shaft that comes with it with a P2 head on it. (You can buy different shafts) The stubby when you pull it apart is a 1/4” adapter that is built in and will take regular driver bits The Icon Wrench Flex Ratchet has a 1/4” socket adapter driver bit in it. It’s one of the bits that came with it. I leave it in it all the time because I usually use sockets with it. It comes in/out and can be swapped with any 1/4” bit. Wasn’t for sure which one you were talking about… Hope I answered, just let me know if I didn’t or the time stamp for what it is you are looking at.
Great tools and kit dude! Can I recommend you replace your flashlights with the Acebeam Pokelit AA. They call it the i5R killer. It’s basically a clone but has more power, has three settings but the main feature is the memory function, so it remembers your preferred setting so you don’t have to cycle through the different settings. Anyway, great video. Thanks! I’ll subscribe now.
@@Thinkableness I’ve had a few people comment that and a friend of mines did. He ended up taking a zip tie or carabiner and put it through one of the bit holding slots
Dude that vessel does not retain anything. It always leaves those sockets behind in whatever pouch I use. Did I get a bad one? Mostly great taste in tools. This one just doesn’t work for me.
I haven’t had any problems with either one of mine. My one pretty much stays the flip socket but I swap the other one quite often between several bits. There is a little tab inside the handle that puts pressure on the shafts… maybe yours isn’t set right? Maybe someone else will chime in if they are having the same problem.
Yeah I am not sure what’s up with the supply of them. I don’t go in my store often… but I’ve never seen them in stock. I had to end up ordering mine and shipping it to my house. $180 is a bit crazy. So did you get the 5 sets total? Or went to 3 stores and didn’t find any?
@@MORGANSMaintenance i found them. Called ahead first, 3 at one and 2 at another. My local store has as out. Half a day’s work and a tank of gas. They will make great Christmas gifts
I’ve never really done much scrapping of metal as far as actually separating things out. Everything I scrap has just been whole pieces of things. Water heaters, appliances, metal studs, etc. Sounds like a great idea and a good video, but I don’t think I have any tool suggestions without the experience. Thanks for the suggestion though, I really appreciate it 👍
I checked it for someone before and It was either 31.8 or 32.8 pounds. I’d have to double check. I prefer multiple smaller bags, but now that I work out of my truck more I transitioned to 100% MCT to save space.
I know, it’s pretty sweet. I saw it on Facebook Marketplace one day but it was like 3 hours away from me. Soon as I saw it, I was like, “well I have to have that”. I wasn’t going to drive 6 hours for it, but I Finally found one on eBay in good shape. I thought it was going to be like a 20oz tumbler size.. way bigger than I thought.
They have the last several. It’s near the end of March. The free bags are different. The last couple years there have been two tiers. You buy a bag out of Tier 1 you get a certain bag for free, and the same with Tier 2. Usually the Tiers are based on prices, you buy a more expensive bag you get a better free one. Great time to get a two bags…. You can sell one to get yours cheaper, go in with a buddy and split the cost… or keep them both 😂
Hanging drywall… I swap that pouch around for all sorts of fasteners. I don’t get that dusty when I hang drywall, maybe I’m doing it wrong 😂 I get more sawdust on me when I frame than Sheetrock dust hanging drywall. I also use a leaf blower to blow myself off before putting my stuff up.
No not really, but I also primarily have 6.0 Batteries and haven’t used it for really long lengths of time. (Like full days or anything) Has that been your experience with it? I think the longest I have used it at one time is maybe 2 hours or so putting siding on a house…. Or sometimes I have used it to help dry drywall patches. Mostly I use it for service calls that aren’t very long.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I use it all shift 6-8 hrs so I'll go through a battery or 2 at the 6.0Ah type, but I've lost about 3 batteries that won't take a charge anymore. I've "jumped" them but that doesn't help sometimes.
@@phillipmoody710 I’ve had two 6.0 batteries die out in me… I was able to jump one and lost the other… no issue with any other size batteries. Since you say this I am curious what charger you use. Both my 6.0’s I have had problems with didn’t start till I started using the Rapid M18/M12 Charger… In my mind I’ve been wondering if that has anything to do with it. I quit using it for that reason, but it may have nothing to do with it.
I buy many tools that I feel can help me or someone else… or a good value for their quality. I’m a big believer in buying quality… but a price also has to make sense for how much I will use it. I spend more on certain tools based on what they do, and how often I get them out.
Just purchased some wiha Allen keys stamped iso number and made in Germany. Fit is precise. Looking up some of the brands they often have industrial tools stamped that get sold through authorised dealers and franchisees only. Wera, I vessel and pbswiss are not stamped. Snapon is the same
@MORGANSMaintenance I get that but kinda missed my point , you already have a bag of tools with numerous drivers in it , if I got caught using that it wouldn't look very professional , it's hard to charge what you have to charge to stay in business then have your clients see your guy using a half assed screwdriver razor knife combo on thier site. Same reason my guys don't carry leathermans .
@@nonetheless01 I get what you’re saying now… I only use the screwdriver on this if I don’t have a tool bag on me. I carry this knife all the time at work, home, out… everywhere. I don’t carry a screwdriver everywhere. I thought you were saying you didn’t get the knife… and then on a side note I had too many screwdrivers 😂 👍👍
Yeah I agree. That’s why I don’t do it… it is doable… but you almost need another small tool I guess it’s nice you “can stick one in there, but it’s easier for me to get a spare out of my truck.
Yeah, I really don’t talk that much in person… only about tools 😂 I know I can sometimes ramble so I try to always put chapters in so people can skip around. Thanks for the feedback… appreciate you watching 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance what in the... my brother in law is German and used to work for Knipex before he moved to the states. He says Nipex. I have a bone to pick with him now.
I’m not a professional speaker, so sometimes I may say the same thing over and over. Making videos and speaking on camera isn’t my specialty. Maybe you have some videos I can watch to get some tips?
You don’t have to listen to me being boring… there are chapters at the bottom for you to skip ahead. You might not care about the Info about each one, but someone else might. The chapter option gives both type of people an option.
