In this video I update my Loadout from the first Loadout on 12/22/21 and Part 2 on 11/19/22. If you haven't seen those videos you can see them here :
Part 1 - • Maintenance Truck Load...
Part 2 - • Truck Loadout Part 2 -...
My Overall Loadout is something that changes daily, weekly, etc… but I use this setup to help me get my work done. I do "Interior Renovations & Service Work of All Kinds". I currently own my own business, so this is my own personal truck and my own tools. Some of it is still in the works... and as you know with organization, it is always evolving.
If you have any tips, suggestions, or questions... let me know in the comments and THANKS FOR WATCHING!
Due to request from the original Loadout video asking if the Packout Organizer will actually fit in the DECKED Drawers... I made a video that you can see here - • Will Milwaukee Packout...
The following are links to products you see in the video. I participate as an Amazon Affiliate, so if a link is marked (Affiliate Link) I make a small commission off your purchase through those links at no cost to you. Thank you for your support!
I am also working on an Amazon Store with list of tools like my favorites, Bag Loadouts, Products I use, Etc.
It's a work in progress, but you can check out what I have so far in My Store here - www.amazon.com/shop/morgansma...
I will try to put as many as possible below… but If you would like a link for something you see in the video, just let me know and I will post them here. (I have specific videos with many of the products you will see in the video as well)

Great video. I love how detailed you are in your videos. Well spoken, thought out, and nothing but useful information. You leave out all the non sense jargon that some have a hard time doing. Taking some inspiration from this video for my own vehicle. I could spend the money on a truck, but I got nice and reliable Honda Odyssey that can fit lots in it!

It's a nice setup. The Decked bed is awesome. I also really liked the little cubbie for the smaller levels and skimming blade. Also was good to see Fibafuse in the drywall tape box lol. The rear facing lights on the canopy are great. I should do that off the ladder rack on the work van. I've got wiring for them because there used to be 2 flashing lights on the rack. I'd get a 5gal bucket holder in the bed. Store a couple few empty buckets, then the hot mud bucket in top. It'll never tip over, and doesn't need to be tied or tethered. Weather guard sells a red one that would look good in there, and is a fairly priced one compared to a couple other brands. Thanks for the tour of the service vehicle. Looks thought out and efficient.
@MORGANSMaintenance

Yeah I have grown to love that Fibafuse… especially for patches and butt joints. I will definitely check out the 5 gallon bucket holder, I use them all the time. Appreciate the suggestions and compliments. I often overthink things.. so I have just been using it and letting it load out itself. It will change more and more over time.

@@MORGANSMaintenance I've been dealing with 5gal buckets for a couple decades. They are a necessary evil for me. I never knew the bucket holder existed until a couple years ago. Wish I'd of discovered it sooner. Fibafuse is great. I don't typically use it for a 90, but for flats, butts, and repair work. No issues with it.

@huntsvillepaintpro same here… I have swapped over to Levelline or No-Coat for inside corners (paper occasionally). I have been using Fiba Fuse pretty much same as you… The carpet in my back does a pretty good job of things not sliding. I will have to see what my options are for mounting that bucket holder to the Decked

I get that. That’s why I try not to put much up front by my seat. For some reason if I have a bunch of clutter next to me it drives me crazy. I have thought about a trailer many times, but traffic and the roads in the area I work stinks so I’ve been trying to get away without having to pull one.

@Stefan_Kawalec 11 месяцев назад
The only problem wit the trailer is additional space it takes. So in area with congested traffic and in city centres there may be some parking issues. And on highways you need to remember that you can't go too fast. Otherwise a tool trailer is an excellent idea.

I HIGHLY recommend getting yourself a klein tools 9 in 1 sae flip socket set. It's only $30 and it saves so much time. It fits any drill or impact and has between 1/4 and 3/4 socket size. For any sockets I need for construction this is my go to. It takes up very little space. Is very well made. And is super convenient. Its in my everyday grab and go. It's the type of tool you buy thinking its niche but use more than expected.

When you got started running your business. With all the trades you do professionally (similar to the path I’m on). What do you recommend? To learn the skills, apply yourself, manage your time, and overall just balance of it all
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 5 дней назад
@@WyattThePilotYT before I started on my own I worked for years for companies learning skills. You can learn a lot from people, but I personally learn more by doing. Be willing to try things and if you mess up, you learn from it. I have always taught the people who worked with/for me, that speed off how fast you get something done comes with time and repetition like everything else. You need to learn how to do it right no matter how long it takes you. It doesn’t matter how fast you get it done if it’s not done right. To keep good customers you have to fix their problem, not put a bandaid on it. Time management is also important from the standpoint of fulfilling the expectations of the customer. Manage your time based on the expectation you give them, never promise something you can’t do. With your work and time, always give expectations that you can either meet or exceed. I feel like I was just Tony Robbin’s or something 😂

@@MORGANSMaintenance 🤣 I'm 14, almost 15, and I'm taking every trade class I can get my hands on. I'm already in advanced construction and Welding. In construction class we build tiny homes for fire relief that has everything but plumbing. I LOVE it! I am completely the same in that I learn by doing. So I get what you're saying. My construction teacher says, it matters if you make a mistake because it comes out of your time, and the customers or your $. However it is only truly a mistake if you don't learn from it, or how to fix it. I struggle with time management though. Any tips for that? But one of the biggest reasons I love the trades is because you're always learning. Always. So learning new skills, or tricks, or even taking criticism. I like. Because you always learn how to be better. I think what you're trying to say is slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 5 дней назад
@WyattThePilotYT it will seem crazy to some people because they think it takes more time… but cleanliness and organization helps me with Time Management. I spend zero time looking for things because everything has its place. It takes some time and effort to put things back, but not near the time of looking for it. Same for cleaning, it takes less time to clean as you go than to clean a large mess afterwards or work in a mess. Plus it makes happy customers. You are making a smart choice in my opinion. Good luck 👍

My company provided truck is a Tacoma, but my personal is an Element. I really wish I could use the Element for work, that huge flat floor and wide opening doors give so many options for customization and organization. I could turn in my company truck and get paid mileage for using my persona, but the Element has 300K miles on it and I currently drive 5-6K miles/month for work...I'd like to keep the Element living longer than that. It is such a great platform, I wish Honda had kept it. But alas, I am ditching the Tonneau cover on the Taco and getting a topper similar to Morgan, so looking for ideas, and he certainly delivered!
@kg4gav
@kg4gav 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for the ideas! I work on broadcast equipment as a contractor, so my day to day may be electrical, light framing, AC, plumbing, or rebuilding an amplifier module. Like you, I am ditching the tonneau cover for a commercial topper on my Tacoma (6 ft bed). I have to keep my back seats as I also use the truck to take the kids to school. I like the idea of the Decked system, but I sometimes need the height of the bed+ canopy. I am thinking about making 2 bed cot style shelves of Unistrut with plywood top and carpet so I can have a setup like your on top, with space for storage bins/boxes underneath. They would be removable in case I need the full bed. I will probably make the tops with hinges also, so I can access the far back items from the middle door. A paint pole with a hook could also be sued to reach back and snag the bin or bag handles. Or maybe a slide out tray on the bottom of one or both of the "cots"? Who knows what the final build will be.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 10 месяцев назад
It’s an always evolving thing… I usually spend way to much time overthinking things when sometimes it’s best for just trial and error. That’s like I was already planning on building shelves in the topper before I got it installed but tried it out as is while overthinking how I wanted to build the shelves… now that I’ve used it like it is and I can reach everywhere in my bed… I can tell I would not have liked the shelves. Thanks for the suggestions of what you might do… and Glad I helped 👍

I think it would be a cool idea to make boxes that are still modular/moveable. The packout cabinets might be too big but it would be easier to get those rather than custom boxes.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 11 месяцев назад
Yeah I actually at first was going to try build a base and make it so that packout drawers came out even with the doors. My thinking was I could still remove them if I needed space… and anything Packout I can use later in whatever vehicle I use. But the topper sides run at a little bit of an angle. If you make the bottom of the Packout flush with the outside of the topper, the top drawer ends up being about 5” in from the outside of the topper. (Hopefully that makes sense) That’s why the bottom shelf is deeper and the top smaller on the ones that typically come with the topper. I also thought about only doing boxes on one side instead of two.. that way I still have room for bigger tools, and can access the back middle of my bed from the side that doesn’t have the box. Who knows what I will end up doing 😂.. thanks for the suggestion. I definitely like the idea of whatever I do being moveable.

I haven’t had any problem with mine setting stuff even in oak. I wonder if your depth setting isn’t working right? I had the Ryobi before the M12. I liked it too, but the size of the M12 is much better. Yeah I don’t think people that do things like us can have a “permanent” setup. It has to be adaptable. Mine is the 6’ bed… maybe 6’6” The topper has been amazing for me, the best change I have made so far…. But I don’t normally carry tall items so it hasn’t been an issue. I have even less height with my Decked Drawers, but it’s actually nice because it puts everything in my bed at the height of the topper doors. Makes it so I can reach anything in my bed. Makes it to where I don’t have to tie things down, I don’t have stuff out in my bed for passerby’s to put there hands on… It won’t be for everyone, but it’s been great for me.

What was the plumbing tool (looks like a universal wrench) that you didn't like? Can you also explain likes and dislikes on Siligun. Thanks
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 11 месяцев назад
It is a wrench for strainer basket nuts… I would just like to find something not so big. Siligun… I like the size… and being able to get into certain spots… I don’t like how I can’t rotate the nozzle to the handle. It cuts a slit in the tube as you push it through, so that makes the tube unable to be turned. That’s the main things on it (the rest is nit picky stuff)… so it’s a good caulk gun to have for certain things compared to a regular one and sometimes it’s not. Just depends on what you are doing. I have been able to use the partial tubes that have been slit in the Siligun in my standard caulk gun though… I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do that.

Luckily, I still live in an area where that stuff doesn’t happen much… but I have Alarm System, cameras that notify me at home, etc. People don’t steal stuff where I live… Jason Aldean sang about it. 😂 It’s no different than anyone who has their work tools stolen… it’s going to affect you. I’ve always had a special anger for people who steal things from a person that they use to provide for their family. Stealing is wrong all the way around, but if you steal a persons way of making a living… you deserve what you get.

Hello. Thanks for sharing. Are would happen if you truck has a major accident or if your truck is stolen? Are the truck and your tools insured? We have to have a contigency plan. I hope this not positive message be helpful for you and other people.

You are right, that is a very good idea (and I have it). Even with that, I am crazy cautious to try not to get in accidents, or not put my stuff in position to get stolen. (That’s not really 100% possible, but I do what I can) That’s why I tell people when they say.. if you get in an accident you have insurance, no big deal. Even if I am reimbursed it would make my life extremely frustrating and be a huge inconvenience.

I kind of prefer a van to work out of. Is that what your going to get next time you buy a work truck?

I’ve thought about it. If I move more towards service, most likely.

Joey just a curiosity, why did you adapt a truck and not use a van?
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 11 месяцев назад
I’ve always had a truck (and I already had the Decked)… but I’ve never been 100% on my own and working out of a vehicle at multiple locations before. I have kinda just been figuring that all out this last year making it work with what I had. I was also unsure of which way my business/customers in my area would lead me. More service or more remodeling… I wanted to get a feel of what my needs were going to be before I made a decision to possibly buy a vehicle. Get a feel for what will work the best. Hope that makes sense. I am thinking a van might be a better fit for me in the future… which is another reason I decided to make Packout be a big part of what I use now instead of building things. I can move those to whatever I end up doing. 👍

My guess - cost. He's only been independent for a year, personally I wouldn't invest in a new vehicle yet either. Existing 2011 Truck + topper + bed drawers + other storage(pack-outs) = probably around 5k. A New Van = at least $60k A Used Van = at least $20k

At the beginning using what you already have and upgrading it a bit is much wiser in terms of money.

you need to seriously ratchet down that stack behind the drivers seat, it will crush you if you have a collision!

Man, I think you would be so much better served by a van. You could easily fit twice as much stuff and none of it would be visible through your windows.

Those shelves in the cab with you. You can put them in the 🚚 🛏 . You're sitting up right in that 🚚. You need to lean back after 8hrs. Trust me I know better! 🧔🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️

I actually have plenty of room on the drivers side (with that angle on my top drawer)… my passenger seat is definitely a little snug, but I’m a loaner 99% of the time. If I take the back seats all the way out I can gain a little more room though, especially if I turn the drawers the other way. That will probably be the next step.

Why not just get van? Saves putting all those tools on the cab seats.

I might on my next vehicle. I just went out on my own 100% and I didn’t want to go into any debt. That way I keep using my truck for a few years and see what type of jobs I do the most, then make a decision on what vehicle will be best. My truck is already paid off, so it cost me nothing to just keep using it. That’s why I’ve also been buying Packout instead of building more custom stuff for my truck. It will all be transferable to the next vehicle. Good suggestions though 👍
