Guillaume Ligot The flandrians are dutch, the the dutch are german(you can see it in the word dutch-deutsch) and we all are people. Greetings from Germany.
Daan Conen The wallonians are french people. The only reason for being a own nationality is the split by the spanish. The Dutch are german because they have a german heritage and speak a german dialect.
That #10 gives me goose bumps and shivers... I first heard it in the 60's via short wave, and never after forgot it... it became my signature whistle... never knew where it came from... thank you for clearing up a very old man's memories

Popperite It's not the only country that doesn't look like its OTL counterpart today. It seems that aside from being a top 10 list, the video is also, in a way, a political wishlist of the creator's.
big smoke Simple answer: The anthem was written by Joseph Hayden for Franz II. Emperor of the Holy romann Empire. In 1806 he layed down the crown of the Holy Roman empire and became the the Emperor of Austria Franz I. Thats why it is the same Anthem.
That's the image of Great Netherlands as it contains Flanders :P Thanks for noticing my country's anthem (Portugal) I feel it's so underrated, as it glorifies us, the Portuguese, as a people and sounds very good! Also I get goosebumps everytime the stadium sings it for a game!
+Garen Crownguard Its funny how poland is the biggest geographical winner of both world wars, despite not existing in the first, and getting crushed in the second.
Some national anthems are emotion provoking ,I hear The french " Marseilles " and see the " Sans co louts " dragging a cannon down a street towards the Bastille on 14 July 1789 . The Polish national anthem evokes a picture of burning buildings crashing into a street and flames reflecting off the airplanes with ugly black crosses on their wings .Ii guess each song and tune means something and is special to some one
HerobrineJuli 05 There was a time where Austrians considered themselves german and wanted to unite with the other german states. Saying germans are more stupid than Austrians is incredibly ignorant and untrue
'The Wilhelmus' of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is by far the oldest national anthem of the world, and refers to the Independance War with Spain (1568-1648); this national anthem is by far the most historic one and the longst, because it has 15 verses. (by the way: The map of the Netherlands, published here, is not correct: a part of Belgium - in the south - has been added here to The Nederlands).
My favourites(I ressist to rank them) Israel(Hatikvah) Spain(Viva España) USSR(Государственный гымн союза советскых соцялистическых республик Slovakia(Nad Tatrou sa blýska) Poland(Jeszce Polska nie zginęła) Japan(Kimigayo) People’s Republic of China(Volunteers march Chinese Republic (Taiwan)(Three principles of the people) Germany(Das Deutschenlied) France(La Marseillaisse) Finland(Maamme) Sweden(Du gamla, du fría) Montenegro(Oj svijetlja majska zoro) England/UK(God save the queen)
the weimar republic took the tune of the austro-hungarian anthem and added a new text, after 1989 when germany was unified again they took it as their national anthem While Germans certainly had great composers, making anthems was never their strength, "Heil dir im Siegeskranz" used the tune of the british stars and stripes and the Deutschlandlied uses the tune of the former Austrian anthem
@@lepredator1789 no that's wrong. The German anthem was written way before WW1. It was written in 1841 the text is from Von Fallersleben, the melody was composed by Haydn (who originally made it for the Austrian empire) which Von Fallersleben chose for the German anthem. So 78 years before the Weimarer Republik
@@lepredator1789 First of all The british anthem is "God Save the Queen/King" not "Stars and Stripes" Second of all The British got the anthem from the French "Grand Dieu sauvre le roi" Third The guy here used a funky remake as german anthem This is how it was actually sung: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fKmBgX9pUdQ.html
Well I never thought I will see Austria-Hungary's anthem on any list. But here it is. Glad you liked it. And thank you for including the polish one as well (I really like it). Hearing all these anthems I can think of several things. These are great anthems, also our (the hungarian) anthem sucks. There. I said it. (pls don't put my head on a pike)
Im proud of seeing my contry anthem (Portugal) here! I think you made great choises in there! I just think you forgot to put the 11 best anthem(Ussr) ! Everyone likes that even though theyr not communist!
i love the most of these anthems also if there are some that i hate but didnt love the picture with the netherlands because first im belgian and also it was not easy to find so a picture so its means that you searched
my favorites if I made a video of it (the negative and 0 is extras, the negative aren't actually the best, just an extra) 10. U.K/Great Britian 9. Ottoman Empire (1840) 8. America 7. Russia/USSR (the same thing) 6. Austria Hungary 5. Portugal 4. Belarus 3. Finland 2. Syria 1. Italy (le spaghetti theme) 0. Ukraine -1. Kazakhstan -2. *Prussian glory march*
Scythal Yeah remember when the French conquered Moscow a completely foreign and frozen city thousands of kilometres away from their home land in the dawn of the 19th century?
I am so confused? Why basically put in the British one twice as it has the same melody as the Prussian one and then put in Austria Hungary as that is just the melody of the current German anthem ?
24- Spain 23- Saudi Arabia 22- Italy 21- Japan 20- Nepal 19- Slovakia 18- Qing China 17- Portugal 16- Lithuania 15- Uruguay 14- Sri Lanka 13- German Empire 12- Brazilian Empire 11- Prussia 10- Israel 9- Finland 8- Rhodesia 7- Soviet Union 6- Uzbekistan 5- USA 4- DDR (East Germany) 3- Vatican City 2- Austrian Empire 1- Netherlands First, I'm Brazilian. Second: the reason why I put the Soviet anthem in 7th (and behind the American one) is that, besides it being a really powerfull anthem, I think some other ones have a better melody and lyrics.
Umm why is flanders part of the Netherlands ? since i think they dont sing our anthem still Nice job on the version of the anthem one with the singing If any 1 need needs a English version hit me up
I like the Chinese anthem and all, but I think that communism killed its culture, I mean, all you have to look at is the name of the anthem, "March of the Volunteers."
+ChizzleDonkey Mapping The song was been written before the communist take over China. After communist take over China they used the song as the national anthem.I also hate the communist government but I don't know if the Republic of China would fight against them
Faxity Gaming at first, it was a French song for Louis XIV (I don't remember if it was the national anthem or not) and then Great Britain, Germany and lots of other countries took the same song, changed the lyrics and made it their national anthem
Of course it does as the melody of the emperial Austrian-Hungarian anthem was stolen by the Germans in the early 20th century. So it's the other way round: the German anthem sounds like the Austrian-Hungarian one. And you call yourself "Anthems 'nd stuff"?!
I am not particularly in favour or against the state of Israel, but their anthem is truly very beautiful. Have you listened to it prior to making this video?
Austria-Hungary has not existed for nearly 100 years. Apart from that, the last text of the anthem of the Dual Monarchy was "Gott erhalte, Gott beschütze unsern Kaiser, unser Land". After 1918 the Austrian anthem was until 1929 "Deutschösterreich, du herrliches Land", later then "Sei gesegnet ohne Ende" and since 1947 "Land der Berge, Land am Strome".
