Sweet, I only live 2.5 hours from Holiday World, I'll have to go next year and ride this new #1 coaster. Or I may take a different "Voyage" to find the best coaster in the park.
Thunderhead was insane for me this year, perfectly smooth and super intense and well-rounded. I don’t know my exact rankings but I’m comfortable calling it top 20, it’s just near perfect.
same!! it was very smooth, i was shocked. it still had that woodie rumble and was butter smooth. got some night rides in the rain and man it was wild!!
Glad to see The Beast make the top 100. I wonder if a night ride would move it up higher, just like any other famous night rides. Plus, I give you credit for trying to narrow down a 100 top rides. With you have over 600+ credits, I figure 10 to 20 could have been number 100.
It is great that everyone has their own opinions. My personal taste would put Hagrid's above Expedition Everest. I skip Kraken and The Hulk everytime I go to Orlando 😄. They are both head bangers IMO and I spend most of the Hulk greyed out which isn't much fun for me.
Great list so far. Been on 44 of the 50, and one of the 6 I’m missing I rode as Firehawk. Looking forward to the rest of the list on Thursday. I think I had more coasters from Europe hit my top 100 but I hit up Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and France.
This year, Ravine Flyer 2 was running a lot smoother than it used to. It might move up if you get a chance to re-ride it. Also, I heard that Playland Vancouver’s Coaster now has seat belts that staple you and greatly detract from the ride experience.
You heard right about Playland Coaster. It's now got a seat belt and a firm lap bar. Rode it this summer and the girl next to me slammed her face down into the lap bar to boot and got a pretty bad nosebleed. Poor thing. I did feel some airtime but most of it was cancelled out.
Loved the video as always!! Interesting to hear other perspectives. Thing that stuck out to me most was Viper over Thunderhead. I think the track work did wonders for Thunderhead and I had several awesome rides on it, enough to have it in my top 25 at the moment (out of 188). Viper, on the other hand, offered me nothing, and I was in that second to last row. It wasn't rough, but I unfortunately never left my seat once. Also I love me some Manta, especially with it being at one of my own parks, but man, that Tatsu pretzel loop is just too awesome. It's my second favorite airtime-less coaster as of now! And yes, I would be one of those people who would say the SFMM Viper is too rough 😆 Looking forward to 50-1!! :)
For me Boulder Dash, Beast, and Xcelerator are way way way low. appreciate the high praise for Alpengeist, and wondering if we'll see new jersey Medusa in the next installments
Love the list! For some reason, I find it extremely hard to find the will and time to add new seasons' coasters to my pre-existing ranking, and yet here you manage to create an entirely new list from scratch! Puts me to shame!
@@AirtimeThrillsEVERY CREDIT?! The mind boggles. I look forward to that. I know I couldn’t do it without wildly guessing for, say, the lesser clone models.
@@StamfordBridgeI generally keep a list in excel and add to it as I ride. I must admit I spend more time with the coasters at the top (top 50-100) of list than those at the bottom less maybe the bottom 20.
@@alantrotter2077 You’d think that I’d find nerdy delight in adding each year’s new coasters to my list, but for some reason I find it really tedious. I’m now three years behind. 😳
You are like one of the only people who agrees with me about Intimidator 305. Yes it is probably the most intense coaster I’ve ever ridden, but it just doesn’t give me that feeling I need to make it a top 50 coaster; and The Beast is so iconic with that finale!
I’m not as keen on the seaworld orlando rides as you are but manta is a beautiful ride. I would like to get to islands of adventure by 2025 can you do a park video of islands of adventure to maybe include information about epic universe! Thanks for all you do
Chris we need to get you on the Coney Island cyclone during the summer on a blazing hot day, blows viper out of the water from friends who’ve done both. I’ve only done the original.
2 things about Cyclone, which i have only ridden in the summer, they make you frontload the train so back row rides are hard to come by, and those trains are so cramped, lapbars are bulky, i dont love PTC trains but theyre a heck of a lot better than cyclones
I am really surprised at the placements of some things and exemptions of others, but I respect your list and all the credits you have. My favorite coaster channel on youtube!
Bit odd to describe Storm as your first Gerstlauer invert, I was under the impression that it's the only one at present. (Upon further review they also did a family invert in Yomiuriland)
Wasn't expecting Beast, but was happy to see it, even if it doesn't live up to the hype for you I'm hoping you get your night ride this year, fingers crossed
Airtime Thrills, just wondering where you put prowler at WOF. I personally consider it better than American Thunder, and since I'm a newer enthusiast, it's cracked my top 3. I think it has an elite layout and is a whole lot of fun
I still say you and the fam need to be at Kings Island late enough for a night ride on The Beast ... if thats even possible with the new hours scheduled for next year
i305 does have elite airtime. It has the strongest and most airtime moments of any giga. GhostRider has a couple moments of good floater, but many hills didn't deliver for me. It's a gentle (but enjoyable) family coaster compared to i305.
In my opinion, twisted cyclone is the most underrated coaster I’ve been on. Could you make a video on most underrated coasters out there. If you have already made one, I would love to see an updated one!
Hey I just thought of something, when you do your verses versus versus versus verses (well that came out funny) videos, have you ever done one that's a wing coaster versus a wing coaster versus a wing coaster?
I haven't thought about doing that by category because that kind of ranking is more legit and can be a real video. Ranking coasters based on a shared name is more ridiculous and should be treated that way
Well you can check out last years video and see which ones magically disappeared. I dont think i had anything rise up into my top 50 this year from last years top 100
EDIT: It's been confirmed that one of the top 50 coasters in last year's list did indeed drop entirely out of the top 100. I have posted the list of coasters elsewhere. *Original post:* Unfortunately, I can't provide a complete list yet, because the number of coasters I expected to still be seeing in the top 50 is not matching the number I am seeing--there is one too many coasters for the slots available (I have 51 coasters competing for 50 slots), and I don't yet know what that means. It could mean I made a mistake somewhere and there's a coaster in my provisional top 50 that shouldn't be there. It could mean Chris made a mistake and forgot to include a coaster that should have been on the list. Or it could mean that one of the coasters in last year's top 50 genuinely fell all the way out of the top 100. I don't know yet.
I'm 54 seconds in and I know exactly what "coaster" you're referring to whenever you mention Carl Phare. 😉I've never heard of "Stand" but my guess is that company made more than one coaster.
@@AirtimeThrills That thing? I didn't like it as much as American Thunder. Did you say it was better that Cyclone at Coney Island? Boo! Better than Viper? Which one? The one at SFMM? not as bad a take, but the one at SFMM is more underrated. Thanks again!
@@AirtimeThrillsI rode it in the front car once and the back car once and I didn't find it anywhere wasn't as good as Cyclone in NYC (which I'd just ridden 2 days earlier) or Viper at Magic Mountain. Exactly which row are you referring to? I'll make sure to ride it in that row the next time I visit, but it's not exactly my 1st priority. (I've never even ridden The Voyage or Velocicoaster yet.) So what row of Viper at SFGA is the "right row" exactly? More importantly: how can it be better than The Cyclone at Coney Island at Luna Beach Brooklyn NYC in the back car? Please explain.
Love that you have Viper from SFGA on the list but what manufacturer do you have it listed under? Wouldn’t it be just Six Flags because it’s the only in house coaster they ever built?
My only real concern here is that WCR is higher than Tatsu. I get the dueling aspect is always fun, but the 4 times I've ridden WCR, I was never blown away by the elements. Still a good ride, but I personally like everything about Tatsu better
@@AirtimeThrills Yeah I can see that. You also have like 10x the credits I do so your word means more haha. But I just got a full-time job so Cedar Fair pass is imminent. Never been anywhere up north
Man, I am shocked to see I-305 so low. I get it though, if you dont like coasters that try to rip your face off while smiling, you wont find it the greatest. To me though, I-305 is easily the best giga, and in my top 5.
When I came home from Central Florida I started putting together my list of coaster rankings including the new rides I got this year. I haven't ridden even a 10th as many as Mr Airtime Thrills here but most of what I have ridden has been well above average. I will say I was disappointed in Kraken this year. I last road it 20 years ago and have long thought it was a great coaster but this year's ride was extremely disappointing and ROUGH. It seems that it may be time for this one to be retracked. Manta on the other hand exceeded expectations and has bumped Superman at SFOG down my list. Hagrid's is way too low on this list with many other coasters above it I would disagree with being slotted higher. I mean Mineblower is better than Hagrid's? Nah I don't think so. Cant's wait to see what makes the top 50.
I305 has some of the best airtime I've ever experienced. Maybe you've never ridden it on a fast day. It's my number 1 and I've got a similar credit count to you. To each their own I guess
@@AirtimeThrills Really hope it is this year. Parks you should definitely do apart from USJ, Nagashima and Fuji Q: 1. Parque Espana in Ise 2. Tobu Zoo just for Bandit 3. Thunder Dolphin at Tokyo Dome
Viper in the Top 100. It was a bit of pain but I can see it. One of those coasters which I think we will all be saying we didnt know what we had until its gone.
I commented this at around the #85 mark and some of these other wooden coasters you’ve ranked higher than Thunderhead actually makes me want to scream, but I love that we can agree to disagree, lmao! 😥😥😥
He's done a couple of videos in this vein already, a 20 worst coasters ever, and a 25 worst coasters you could ride as of that video's release (both ignoring junior/family coasters unless they failed in some way at being a junior or family coaster--Pegasus, I'm looking at you). It could use a bit of an update though.
