Great list, My favorite is Role Models. I seem to pair / tie them on my list and that's tied with They Came Together. But Role Models was part of that great R-rated comedy run of the 2000's but the underlining sweetness gets me.

Mine would be the The Dark Knight I remember seeing it in IMAX 70mm back in the 2008 Era and it was stunning with ita open matte and its sound had to seen to be believed.

Citizen Kane, Blade Runner, Unforgiven, Pulp Fiction, and The Terminator would probably make it in my list too, but not necessarily in that order. I'd probably have epic films like Apocalypse Now, Alien, Lawrence of Arabia, Ben Hur, Forest Gump, Platoon, Trainspotting, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Deliverance, Tin Men, Jaws, The Deer Hunter, American Werewolf in London, etc. as well... and hard to leave out Alph'ies classics and Godzilla! 😆

Also I used to consider LETHAL WEAPON one of my favorite action movies of all time but I haven't seen it in years! Every time I start it, I just can't get into it at all!!!! ON the other hand LIMITLESS with Bradley Cooper is very rewatchable for me!!!!! It's one I keep going back to!!!! What's your opinion on LIMITLESS???????

I love Limitless! I have the blu ray actually. I always thought that movie was underrated. Don’t feel bad with how your feelings changed on Lethal Weapon. I’ve had that happen to me with movies I used to love. Our tastes change.

@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia and you have to catch some Robert Altman flicks. I suspect once you do one or more might break into the top 25. And Deliverance needs to be in there somewhere as does 12 Angry Men. Loved seeing Terminator at number 1. I saw it in theaters and was blown away. It has held up quite well over the years. I rank T1 and The Abyss (the EE) as easily Cameron’s best.

@VFRZen I’ve actually seen every Robert Altman film. The Player is my favorite from him and would be in my top 50. It was actually my first Criterion purchase. 12 angry men would be in the Top 25 best made movies and is one that people should still watch today. It’s an incredibly important film and still holds up so well. Sidney Lunets direction is perfect and to make these guys looks so uncomfortable and hot adding to to the tension in the room is perfect. I love The Abyss too. A very underrated Cameron film.

Oh man, there's lots of movies missing lol, but I've only seen half the movies on this list, so my list would be different. A great list that I hope to check out all of the ones I've never got to watch someday. I've been checking off movies a little at a time while trying to keep up with all the new releases. Though I think making a top list is hard because there are so many great movies. I would say my favorite movie of all time would be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990. That was the first store bought VHS movie I got when I was a kid when I was seven. I watched it on repeat that the tape broke and had to get another copy. I still have that copy with it's worn slipcase

That’s an awesome favorite movie! I remover the VHS for TMNT me and my brother used to watch it in the morning before the rest of the family got up lol. It’s really hard to make a favorites list because it’s always changing and there’s always new movies coming out and going back to old movies we haven’t seen. I still have a long list of movies I need to see and then new ones come out every week lol.

Thank you so much! I would like to have more non american films in my top 25 but there are a few in my top 50. It’s kind of cheating but they’re all connected and came out within two years, “The Three colours Trilogy” Blue, White and Red directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski. I loved how he looked at the human experience and overcoming trauma just to survive. Blue of those three would be my favourite but Red wraps up the whole trilogy perfectly. The worst person in the world is another one of my favourite Foreign films.

THE GODFATHER. Saw it 1st time it was on network tv in 1977 and since then to this day it's #1. I like the soap opera drama in it plus the characters and there is some good wisdom in it.

I remember not wanting to watch Dances with Wolves but when it was nominated for all those Oscars, I made myself go and watch it at the theater. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it! I thought it was epic especially on the big screen!!!! I think low expectations maybe played a factor on how much I liked it but I understand why it won all those Oscars!!!

Don’t get me wrong. I like Dances With Wolves, it’s when it gets compared with Goodfellas, Which it always will lol, that’s where it struggles. But still a great movie and beautiful to look at it! It will look great on 4K one day!

The Dark Knight 17. Silence of the Lambs 16. Aliens 15. Shawshank Redemption 14. Terminator 2, Judgement Day 13. The Fellowship of the Ring 12. Raiders of the Lost Ark 11. The Karate Kid 10. Goodfellas 9. Star Wars, A New Hope 8. Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back 7. Pulp Fiction 6. Back to the Future 5. Boyz N Da Hood 4. The Mask of Zorro 3. Ground Hog Day 2. Good Will Hunting Here are so honorable mentions, and none of these are 26, I'm thinking I might not end with 25, but it takes a lot of thinking to really decide, and the top 25 wasn't easy, but here they are: Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Beetlejuice, Full Metal Jacket and The Truman Show. And my # 1 is... Forrest Gump

It’s not a top movies list though. It’s my favourite movies. I think there is a difference. Some of these movies are just special to me. A good example is Days of thunder. That’s a very cheesy early 90s movie. But I love it personally. I would agree with you that The 3 Lord Of the Rings are better than that movie. I just wouldn’t put any of the Trilogy in my Top 25 favourite movies. It’s the same with the Original Star Wars movies. I love them but none of those would be in my top 25 personally.

An argument can definitely be made that The Dark Knight is a better made movie. Even The Batman. I will always enjoy 89 more though. I don’t think there’s any movie I have seen more than that Batman. It’s everything that gets me for that movie. The Prince Soundtrack, The Elfman score, Keaton and the incredible sets combined with the production design. No other Batman movie made a world that immersive. The Batman and Batman returns get close.

@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I saw this opening Friday in 1989 and was disappointed. I hated that this got so much hype when SUPERMAN 2 was a better 80s' comic book movie. Didn't like the Prince songs, Nickelson's performance, the car, the plot. Only thing I liked was Kim and the ending.

At that point I was into Hughes movies only ones I didn't like was FERRIS BUELLAR and RPETTY IN PINK. PINK once I saw the 4k now I kinda like it and bought it. Candy & Martin I like but the movie just doesn't do it for me.

@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I saw RED HEAT being made during that scene where they break out the bad guy. The city was becoming very cool on the level of L.A. & N.Y. Makes me sad watching those 80s' Chicago movies since the city is not like that anymore. Think N.Y. during the 90s' and look at it now. sob!

TERMINATOR over TERMINATOR 2? I never went to see TERMINATOR in 1984 because from the movie poster I thought it was a street revenge DEATH WISH rip-off. Then when it was out of theaters and on VHS. I asked people was it better than THE ROAD WARRIOR. They couldn't say it was close. I took THE ROAD WARRIOR over TERMINATOR. Real stunts in ROAD WARRIOR and THE TERMINATOR is like WEST WORLD.

It’s funny because I don’t love Road Warriors. I appreciate that movie a lot because of the real stunts and what people put them selves through to make that movie. I always pick T1 over 2. A lot of that is Nostalgia and all the memories I have but also think it’s an incredibly made movie and seeing Cameron with a lower budget is impossible after T1.
