My top 5 movie soundtracks. No way you'll guess them. 

1. Singles. For every reason you listed. A history book entry on early grunge savvy enough to include Mother Love Bone and Paul Westerburg, whose band The Replacement was cited as an influence for nearly every grunge band. 2. Dazed and Confused. This was my father's music and lots of these songs conjured up early childhood memories of cruising around with my pops when he was still the coolest person in the world to me. Now that I'm older, I've come to terms with him being the coolest person I know again, but there were years of disagreements bridging that gap. This soundtrack and this movie gives me a lot of insight into my pop. 3. Pulp Fiction. I came of age in the 90s. What can I say? What I'd give to go back in time to a 90s college party where every chick in the room went absolutely crazy and huddled up together to sing "Son of a Preacher Man"! 4. Lost Boys. A lot of covers--and really good ones of "People Are Strange" and Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"--plus Echo and the Bunnymen. This soundtrack introduced me to both The Doors and alternative music. 5. The Wall. Amazing album, but loses points as it predates the movie and I didn't really love the movie as much as the album. And I really tried.

Interesting choices. When you led off with When Harry Met Sally and Guardians I was thinking, "where is he going from here?" because those are both great. Totally forgot about Singles but agree with your rationale. Since you said you changed your mind and decided to go with The Wall for #1, what were you considering previously?

Haven't seen the full video yet, but my top 5: 5. Ready Player 1 4. GOTG 1 & 2 Tied 3. Forrest Gump 2. The Big Chill 1. Dazed & Confused I disqualified any movies based off songs from a single band like The Wall, Quadrophenia, Tommy, Sgt. Pepper, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Dirt, etc.

this was tough. just 5. My top 5 also included the fact that I could/have watched the movie multiple times. My Top 5 would be 5. Wedding Singer (love this movie and soundtrack and the volume 2, and Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore... just great) 4. Heavy Metal (a movie and soundtrack from my youth) 3. Dazed and Confused (the movie and soundtrack are an autobiography of my high school years in Texas) 2. O Brother Where Art Thou (great movie I've watched numerous times with a great soundtrack) 1. Josie and the Pussycats (I'm old but I love this movie and its goofiness and the soundtrack with Letters to Cleo's Kay Hanley singing the songs) Although not a soundtrack, Jesus Christ Superstar would be my all-time favorite. Honorable mentions - Rock Star and Guardians of the Galaxy. Perhaps I will jump on this tag and do a video, although I don't have the vinyl to most of these. Have CDs.
