@@jediknight129 Yeah, it's definitely a collector's item, not a skirmish gun. However, if you wanted a usable one out of the box, there are other ZB-26s on the market from different brands. I can't speak for the quality of any of them but it'd be hard to be worse than Viva Arms/Rock's version

I'd like to see Luke design a gun from the ground up, imagine the know how and afterthought from a techies perspective put into a cool and maybe rare gun.
It would be a tube with a bottle full of bbs screwed in on top and an air tank in the back. Easy to fix probably near 0 moving parts. Of course itd lool like ass but itd work like a beast
I've been there, second guessing my skills as a mechanic. Understand that no matter how good you are and how many of the details you mind there is gonna be some of those projects that you or anyone for that matter , won't be able to fix. The fact you are willing to do what it takes to provide your customers with a quality item and proper service shows what kind of tech you are.
I love my JagArmsHD M870 knockoff.. Loose shells go byebye. Lost internal Gastank. Found it after hours searching the field. Lost buttplate - replaced. Then cracked the entire plastic stock - replaced with a GE buffertube. Leaked, took apart, rebuilt and lubed. ...A few times... G&P Foregrip Light has been great for daytime use? 🤦♂️But.. Uh ya... it's err.. good..
I like my Striker, though I will admit I put way more money into it than I realised and felt a little embarrassed when I added it all up. Probably not worth what it cost bit I do find it easy to work on / service now. Should also add I don't run a heavy spring so not even close to the limit but it makes the pull acceptable.
Some of those APS tri shots are $800 at Evike! I had the Red/black/brass limited ed Evike exclusive that was $600 but on sale for $300 and it was fun for a week or two but a complete waste of money in terms of playing with them. I gave it to kid at the field that loved it! He texts me pics of him using it all the time so it still works! I told him i’d HPA tap it when it breaks.
Well, yeah, I own and use a krytac vector since the release, when I had to install new gears they were a tad wider than the space in the gearbox, eventually the bushings worn out enough for them to rotate freely, after diassembling and reassembling it so much it doesn't feel like a pain in the arse, even reinstalling the sping especially since it's still a very simple system despite that you have to look for the holes with pins, recently I have shortened the trigger sping which made it softer, what actually bothered me more than all that was that three part tappet plate has all it's parts, joints and axises made of plastic and they end up bending out of shape leading to nozzle either not going far back enough to feed or not sealing against the bucking requiring you to bend them back and a fact that magazine bb catch spring is so tough it literally files of the nose of a hop up unit which is why I had to replace it for a metal chamber. After all though, I must say I've got used to all it's quirks and I'm managing to keep it functional and satisfying to play with, maybe I'll also get a japaneese ETU thingie for it to get precocking even though I mostly use it on 2-round burst and full auto rather than semi. What I wanted to say is that after these years of using and fine tuning it I can't say it is a terrible gun even though I had other guns, but if you have put it on your list, well, it means other terrible guns might be possible to be made good too after all
I purchased 13:1 gears for mine and I can’t even add a single .1mm shim in without the gears being unable to move freely. Don’t know what I’m gonna do about that. Maybe add different bushings or carefully dremel the bushing holes so it sits a bit lower. Don’t know if I trust me self tho lol
A friend of mine has one and is selling it to me at a bargain price because he needs money. Its been personally rebuilt and customized by him so that the original problems that the PDR had were largely eliminated. It runs flawlessly, but its insane as to what you need to do, just to make that gun viable as an AEG.
I have a soft spot for the striker, ive built alot of them, there are fantastic with the caveat that your running a Bolt M. I've built a couple VSRs and a couple strikers, and I can get the performance the same in either, But I can honestly say it's worth the $100 extra bucks for actual mags and a solid body. But none of that matters because the new silverback rifle is out now 😂
i have a PDR-c and works fine for years but i dont use it as much as i use too since i got more easily fixable guns like the mp5a4/a5 and kwa ronin series
Agree with everything except PDR-C. It falls into the category of guns which, with our superior tech/engineering skills, only have to tune it once and never have to touch it again. The PDR-C and the Sterling are two which are in the same category. Add a new motor, a M120 spring, remove the grease from everything and do up the AOE, they will just keep on ticking so long as you use it within the parameters of its design purpose. I have both, both are reliable go-to carbines.
From what ive heard, for any gas shotgun that isn't a tm, its a crapshoot. Sometimes you will get a ge/jag arms sawed off or breacher that works and other times they leak. Still fixable with o rings. All of them im pretty sure are just ge rebrands. Jag arms Ge. Secutor ge. I do have to say i like the real wood on the sawed off and you can also get a real wood full stock unlike tm because the tm was made for japan but they are still metal somehow.
The ares striker is terrible, I had dead mans trigger, hop rubber shit it’s self and the cylinder pins broke. To fix that, I had to get a new cylinder set as well as a new bucking and trigger unit (lycan 90 degree sear and Lycan red blade trigger) . Surprisingly just with the modify VSR bucking and no other upgrades, I’m able to lift 0.45 gram bbs.

If there that bad the company who has manufactured those airsoft guns should lower the price for them because if they make a great deal on the selling of their goods and they can make a good profit on the sell of their guns and their company will have more customers than are willing to buy them
If I had the cash and thought Luke could fix it I'd send my KA Colt .45 SAA to work on, it leaks like a sieve and has NO safety at all so if you catch the back of the hammer it dumps all the gas in one go, and you can't get spare shells for them anywhere. Looks great but functionality is aweful!
@@RogueWraith909 marushin shells fit. Not that I would buy any more for it, wolf armouries have the tanaka in stock. The real one had no safety and would discharge if the hammer was knocked on a loaded cylinder so it at least gets something right. The tanaka does that too.
Huh, I was hoping my ZB was a one-off issue with the bottom/rear receiver had a big gap. So many issues with mine and is the only gun I regret purchasing.
It's too bad the Kriss Vector is easy to make a good AEG or GBB rifle. It is a very interesting real steal firearm and has a lot going for it. All well at least we still have the MP5 and MP7.
Funnily enough, the two techs I've had work on my Ares Kriss Vector, all say that its infinitely easier to work with than the Krytac Vector. Atleast what Ares did was a lot more conventional than that wonky bottom gearbox BS Krytac tried to use.

Why is Specna Arms Edge not on this list? Especially with their new ESA2 with it's cracking lower receiver. 1st Edge version was cracking gearboxes and now 2nd (ESA2) version is cracking lower receivers. Failure rate is pretty high.
it hurts me that the gun is awful in a lot of ways. I really want a bren. I hate the arguement about can't judge because they aren't anywhere near the quality of stuff that normally applies to like handbyupt cars and similar. it's brutal how much shit gets pumped out.

LOL i completely agree with you that CYMA is the best base gun I have two "MP5 SD5 & M14 socom16" that have been upgraded and preform sooo much better then some of the High prices guns and even with then upgrades and there were many it was still much cheaper then the expensive "fan boy" guns.
With regards the sd, I think if any tech was honest. We have all had a gun that defeats us. I know there’s gun techs that won’t admit that because of their giant dangly swinger. It does make you question why am I doing this shit. And it doesn’t make you a bad tech. If anything you lucked out more than most getting that support from bolt. I have had zero reply from contacting them for parts for our workshop. And no parts via uk distribution. So I no longer stock bolt products it’s as simple as that. I only stock brands that are willing to provide spare parts. Unfortunately some airsoft guns just come out lemons and yes technically every gun is repairable given enough time and money but time and money isn’t infinite and technically we do have to think about those other waiting customers too.
I'm always happy to take on the AR15 variants as a change of bevel gear, aoe correction & a new hop unit makes them an amazing gun to use, I did re-contact Bolt after the parts all failed within a few mags along with other parts citing the build & quality control issues but to that I had no reply. When you look at the UK distributer it's not surprising there's no support lmao.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I think I did a mk12 bolt a while back. In hindsight I wish I had ditched the motor. Even after Prometheus internals and gate it wasn’t amazing. I’m always somewhat put off when you get no response from companies for tech enquires, but that’s not exactly restricted to just bolt. I got no reply from cybergun until they setup the dealer status and apprently are now willing to source parts. Unfortunately it really is a bit of a who you know situation and it shouldn’t be. The bolt guy was probably shrugging is shoulders wondering what the big issue was he can get parts when ever he wants. I did a ras mp5 I think the only difference over the mp5 and m4 was the piston and spring guide if memory serves. Uses a tm style ngrs bevel gear. Hopefully you get chance to work on the new tm mp5 to do a comparison, it’s honestly a dream to work on. So easy. So we’ll made.
@@Eagle6Airsoft Like you, I have no faith in certain guns/brands & the TM recoil is just something I won't work on again - I've tested two of the MP5's now and for the price, I'll take any other brand. Neither had decent range on .28g, like the TM SCAR, trying to hop a.28g out of the box is a pipe dream if you want any sort of power or range. It's unlikely I'll take the MP5 on as a job, it's just a £500 thing that compared to even a JG MP5, is just not combat effective. I can't speak for reliability as I literally fired a few rounds, tried the hop, fired a few more & handed it back laughing. Not worth half the price charged over here sadly. Looks great though.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I mean I have tested it and got a vastly different experience than you. I guess we will have to agree to disagree when it comes to tms in general and that includes the scar. I could pick any tm recoil off the shelf and lift 0.32 out to 65m. I wouldn’t game like it as a think the speed to target would be too low but my testing certainly contradicts yours. My comments was actually with regards the gearbox and working on it, it’s internal construction and take down in comparison to say the bolt. But if you haven’t had one apart yet then you won’t be able to relate. For the price I’d rather that than anything else. If I couldn’t afford it I would save, a cyma doesn’t even hold a candle to it unless your only criteria is that they both fire bbs. Thank god for different opinions else airsoft would be very boring.
@@Eagle6Airsoft Exactly, I understand where you're coming from as your business is selling & modifying TM recoils, even if you thought I were right, you'd not be able to say it. I just don't think the required & stupidly expensive proprietary parts, a limp clicky think that happens & lacklustre power is worth more than double the cost of other guns of the same flavour & realistically, if people thought the performance & value for money was there on their TM recoil, you'd & other techs wouldn't be able to charge £600 from somebody to modify a £500 TM recoil to squeeze an extra 60fps out of it reliably - for over £1000 I can do insane things, I just don't see the value for money. Look at the VFC HK416 - people are now (finally) agreeing that they're trash inside & spend over £500 for the externals & then pay people like us to modify them, I do stacks! If you put that £500 VFC next to an E&C 416, you can't see where an extra £250 went & the gun needs infinitely less doing to it inside... but the people who sell & distribute VFC would be saying what you're saying because they need to shift that box & pay their mortgages too. Just an opinion, we do what we do the same but different. :-)

For me personally, I would add the CYMA Galil SAR on the list. It's a fucking horrid gun. I bought it for 250€, and was my first ever airsoft gun (I wanted the Galil specifically because I loved CoD Black Ops 1, so having a gun in real life from that game was a dream for me). Ever since day one, something was always broken on it. Not to mention, the charging handle is so shit, I had to weld the knob on it permanently, because it would always fly of whenever I used the charging handle (they though it was a good idea just to hold it in place with a miniature screw). It would never feed correctly, no matter what mag I used with the correct BB's, it would shoot 3-10 then jam. Oh but I'm not even at the worst part yet, the skeleton stock. Fucking. Awful. The metal where the stock holds in place (you push fown on the stock to be able to fold it to the side, there's a piece of metal there that holds it in place) bent and the stock always wobbled around, meaning I couldn't use it properly without the entire gun wobbling around like a piece of licorice when aiming. Thankfully, I gave it to a friend as a trade for a Specna Arms M4. He fixed up the gun and gave it a makeover, making it look like a mix of the original and the Galil Ace. It looks badass, but even he admitted that the gun is a colossal cuntosaurous to work with. Other than that, I think you summed up the list pretty nicely.
@@rjasontwenty1099 I guess it was a very friendly gesture from him to be able to take my gun and give me his. The M4 he gave me has outlasted how long I had that Galil, and it works fine. The biggest punch in the gut is the availability of the parts for the Galil. Feels a lot better being able to purchase parts from wherever you want without you having to worry about them being sold out or not available anymore.
I own an A&K Masada. Really donno why people are shitting on it so much. I bought one used and it works like a charm. All I had to do was pay a tech to flat hop it, re-shim and lube the GB, and it functions like a decent high-end gun. Its one of my mainline tac rifles because I love how lightweight it is, even after throwing a few accessories on it. Its even lighter than my old MK18.
@@LamborghiniDiabloSVPursuit Because it has a shit hop up design, it has a terrible motor from stock and the fake bolt is thin sheet metal that breaks easily. I've owned one the entire time I've played airsoft, it was literally my first gun. You bought one used that probably already had stuff done to it then you got more done to it, mine is stock apart from broken parts that had to be replaced (piston, tappet)
Jing Gong/Double Eagle. Everyone I've talked to who owned one all say that the gas reservoir will leak eventually, but at the very least its cheap to fix and replace.

I've not heard of people recommending TM AKs particularly. If your budget is lower, then get a CYMA. They aren't expensive but they work and just keep on chugging. A lot of people like LCTs as they are much better externally, but internally apparently no better than a CYMA, but at least they aren't worse. I am by no means an Airsoft expert but I have the full wood and metal CM045A (AKS74u with wood furniture) . Admittedly I have too many guns so it isn't used all the time, but I've lent it to others too and all I've ever had to do on it is tighten up the screw on the hop up slider and the screw on the selector. It only stops working when the battery dies.
The krytac vector is the most overrated gun, its hideous, ot has 0 dexterity, its an interesting idea, but with no real application In airsoft its also the most overpriced shit
