There is an update on Nick's livestream today. Ed has got his speech back, he can now string a sentence together... He is more perky...although he is bandaged up and on an oxygen breathing tube He needs to be on anti biotics that are tailored to the infection for the next 14 days. Things are going in the right direction for Ed

Sounds like a good plan. Good luck. I was a software engineer and it was only 30-35 years ago we were digitizing x-rays, scans and records. Before that it wasn't possible to get other opinions from doctors even 100's of miles away. They had to mail records and it would take days, weeks and there was a risk of losing docs. Today a doctor 1000's of miles away can consult and see all data instantly. So we can now have super focused experts in all kind of niche areas. And most good insurance companies are on board because the cheapest solution is ASAP recovery.

The problem with the insurance was that he originally said he got it from the Post Office - that would have been a problem! Now it changes to the Co-op….
I thought the same, I had an accident in Thailand in April that needed surgery and although the Post Office travel insurance have paid they were difficult to deal with which added to the stress.

Now "it was the Co-op Ins. insisted he stay there" Nics narrative has been quite emotive giving some confusion.Also said to Ed wouldn't have survived a flight, now it's been OK to wait for the Operation. On Nic's channel any objectivity has been blocked by some naive emotive moderator, funny really when these guys operate out of Soi 7.Maybe when someone with little connections as Ed it's better to have a backup & make contact with the British Embassy.
I 1st met Eddie while staying at the same hotel in Subic and have followed him ever since. A great guy in person. I'm lifting a glass to you my friend and will continue to follow your adventures

I thought postal insurance just covered my lost packages but also brain surgery! 😊 If you guys don’t have buddies in Thailand I just want to mention get on some forums, meet a few other friends outside of a bar, network and make some pals. I made a couple buddies 9 years ago and we regularly meet in Thailand, they are both from different cultures/countries but we bonded, I’d do anything for those 2 guys if they needed it. Not only do you have some friends to spend time with but should anything like this happen then you have some real support. As us men get older we usually have less friends and your friends back home aren’t coming over to help. Good job Nick, good luck Eddy.

Glad to hear the the news is as good as we could hope for with Eddy. I don’t think Nick understands Travel Insurance though. It will cover A&E incidents get you stable & once fit to fly get you home but that is where it’s obligation ends & it’s not paying any medical bills once your home. Once Eddy’s certified fit to fly & the insurance arrange his assisted flight home he has to go or they will cancel his insurance and he will be left in Thailand uninsured.

This is the best advert possible for why ANYONE travelling to Asia should have travel insurance. The fools who boast of travelling without insurance and use the excuse that "it's all a con" are setting themselves up for a huge bill should something happen to them. You are a true friend Nick.
