I've made this video to show you my VERY first jewelry pieces that I was making before I even started thinking about becoming a jeweller and a silversmith :) I had made these pieces for myself, as a hobby. It's interesting to look couple of decades back and see where it all started and what kind of designs I was interested in. Sit back, relax and let's spend some time together, I hope you have fun watching this video! Enjoy :)

Hello Basia. It's so good to rescue the good memories. They serve to show us how much we've evolved and remind us that we would never get this far if we didn't have something called courage. And you are a brave girl (I'm 52). I admire you a lot.

Hiya Lady Stardust, Yes, it's a fishing line. Wow, you and I made such similar bead jewellery. I would love to see yours done in silver. I'm going to. What? Why? Bead jewellery? My great nieces NEED jewellery. Should you be able to equate with that idea? Maybe My Great nephews too? Your long twist-around wrist art is perfect. I want to get them to make them too. I still wear and always will the Amber bracelet you so kindly got me, plus the ones that one got me to get. The pain relief apart, I love the look of it, plus that you got me wearing it. Perfection. Just think you wore this jewellery eight years ago when you were 13. Magic. I still have some beads, 4mm and seed beads, too; I'll have to look when everything comes south tomorrow. Graham and one of my nieces, plus her husband, are going to my old home with a van. All my toys coming to me, Yipee!!! I've joined Peter's jewellery school in Australia to learn properly how to make those findings I want. I'm still figuring out how many to make, 4 or 5. I have one sister-in-law and 3 close nieces, plus one I've yet to hear from, so... Stay safe, Steve xx

Hahaha, oh goodness, of course, a fishing line! 😅 Bead jewellery is awesome, I wish I had time also create this type of jewellery. I miss it, to be honest. I'm so happy you're still wearing and enjoying your Amber bracelet! It means a lot and I'm glad it helps you 💜 Ahh, that eight years have passed so fast indeed... 😂I hope Peter's jewellery school will help you figure out how to make that design! Good luck. And thank you so much for watching my video and your sweet comment, as always, I'm very grateful 💜 Take care and stay safe, Basia x

This was a nice video - I think your earlier handmade pieces are fun and pretty! Looking at your past jewelry can be like looking at a "museum" of your life so far, and many pieces can still be worn today. I'd love to go through all of the earrings I've collected since the early 1990s and see what inspiration for new handmade pieces comes from them - have lots of beads, and now starting to learn making components from metal sheet. The fishing line jewelry reminded me of a beautiful bead and metal necklace I saw a lady wearing a few months ago - she told me that it was made from fish hooks. As for that red, it's bright, bold, and beautiful as it looks like fruit punch, berries, and flowers - give it a try in small bits!

oh, that's so true! I love how you put it and I completely agree. I sometimes wondered if it was worth keeping all of these pieces stored away, even though I wasn't wearing them anymore. But now I can say with 100% certainty, that YES! It's absolutely worth it :) I see, that's very sweet of you, I may give this colour a try then haha! 💜

You are great Basia, I learn so much from you🌺 I'm 48 but I just love to learn new skills, silver smithing I can learn until I retire cos it is sooo complex, I love it! Wonderful to see how much progress you have made and what is possible if one is determined to learn and improve and practice🔥With your talent I'm sure you can accomplish anything you want in the future!♥

Thank you so much, lovely! I'm very happy you enjoyed the video ❤️ It was so fun to go through all of these old pieces and compare them with the things I make today. I see a lot of similarities when it comes to style and the general feel of the design. Silversmithing is great, I'm sure you will enjoy it for years to come 💕 It's very satisfying and rewarding, to be able to make something in metal by yourself and according to your own design 😀 Good luck! Have fun learning

Love seeing your old earrings. You were so creative in your designs and use of colors. It’s fun hearing you talk about and show your ‘process’ and design ideas. I only played around with little seed beads and a loom myself. (Peace signs were a BIG thing in my teen hippy years. )

I'm curious about the earring you're "wearing" in this video. Very cute from what I could see of them. Somewhat "ginko-leaf-like".

Funny how....just before you revealed that you don't like the orange and red colors of that three strand necklace...I was thinking "Wow!...What an interesting and beautiful combination of colors". Seriously. It reminds me of when we see children's art sometimes that's very primitive looking and yet they somehow hit on color combos and designs that are both beautiful and basically "impossible" to achieve for someone who has "learned the rules" or at least narrowed their ideas of what's supposed to look good.
