Graham should do a deep dive video about wedding costs and the vendors. Imo, the vendors should be state regulated on how much they can charge. (I just got married).

It can get crazy quick, we had our reception in a pole Barn and had to feed right around 250 it cost about 6k for food and the barn (2017) There were a few places that were much prettier but to feed the same amount of people would have cost around $20,000

When I got married, we went to a baker for a wedding cake. It was $1,000. I asked the baker, this is flour, butter, sugar, and eggs, right? Baker said I didn't understand what it takes to make a wedding cake. She was right. We ended up with a large layered white birthday cake with butter frosting flower decorations for about $50 bucks. Guests never knew the difference, and the cake was great.

I am really curious to see a video about your wedding budget. As a very frugal bride I paid 48$ with my dress with all necessary adjustments, we opted for a nice honeymoon instead of big wedding. Nonetheless we made something to remember forever.

While sitting on the can I realized all the expensive weddings I've gone to. I don't remember much anything. The ones that barely cost anything. I remember cuz memories created with close friends. I think there's also goes into play with how Americans spend money when you have a lot of it coming in. You don't think about where it goes. You just think about what it gets you. When you don't have much of it, you know everything it goes to where it goes, what it does and if I need to survive.

I have said it once, I will say it twice “Starting your future together in the hole, will end in the hole”. Don’t going into debt for one day for the rest our your life together. And if it “has to be perfect” on your “special” day, you are in love with the idea of a wedding, not marriage because that’s never perfect.

@GET1237 I got married in 2010 for about $10k, but we got creative renting a house on the beach in Lake Tahoe. I didn't say you need more money, I said $23k isn't anything crazy compared to what a lot of ppl spend
