Firstly, I’m glad everyone is safe! Secondly, as someone who has gone through a very similar scenario back when I used to wrench on performance builds, I can tell you the first thing you should now do to ensure the safety of your staff, yourself and your business is to audit all of your firefighting abilities. Make sure you have good overlap throughout your entire facility so that heaven forbid there is another fire in the future your hoses etc well and truly reach. Sure this ain’t cheap but you’re now dealing with the unfortunate downside of not having full coverage and I’m sure the financial costs as well as the impact to the other workspaces in the workshop are all negatively impacted. In this industry fires will happen. Thirdly brother, I’m sorry that this has happened. You and the team have been working hard to push the envelope with your build and it shows. The GMC build has been the build I’ve been most excited for and have been on the edge of my seat eagerly waiting for updates. On the upside, you’ve now got the opportunity to have another crack at the same build. Maybe there are lessons learnt from version 1.0 that you could do differently and maybe even improve upon now that you’ve already been down this road. I’ll definitely be tuning in to watch all of the future build episodes so you have my support and I’m sure many others too. Dig deep, rebuild and keep moving forward mate! 💪🏽

There was issues with o2 sensor wires getting burnt at the ecu/pcm or fuse box requiring replacement

The shop i work in had a fire in a roof mounted Ac unit on a Sunday evening.. by some miracle someone happened to see it and called 911 and our local FD got it out.. can't control what you can't control when you just have to do the best with what you're left with and I hate y'all lost that truck but things can always be fixed

well that's all good info about what went wrong trying to put the fire out. I think that's a great lesson for us to learn when building a shop. Truck loss sucks but you saved the shop.

My 2016 Silverado Hight country caught fire while I was driving on the freeway 3 weeks ago took Detroit fire about 30 mins to get there

Get the fire extinguisher off of the paint and anything u want to keep asap. It will mess it up.

The pcm that had all the wires that go to it shorted together yep it will be fine

If you can't put it out then always risk using another vehicle and push it out the shop

This sucks man but luckily no one was injured or killed. Battery disconnects are worth every penny. I have a battery disconnect on every, except the wife’s car. She wouldn’t use it anyways. Plus it’s a good anti theft device. All of mine are hidden and out of sight. My 2020 Ram 2500 has a disconnect switch. Just a thought. Glad you are moving forward on building another one. Some would have cowardly walked away and never modded another vehicle. Lol

In 6/99' my Black on red Short wide burned and it buckled, lit the bed cover and it melted and ran around the tailgate... and the t.g. had a 20" completely flat spol where it looked ike you had hooked up a monster vacuum pump on it, 2 tires popped, and it was 2 weeks old right after a 5/7 drop, etc. AND SHIELD OF SHELTER WANTED 17K FOR IT after paying me 29, 676. for a total loss... lmao, silly wabbits! Unreal. ]

That’s a strange looking burn pattern 🤔. Looks like wiring burned all through the whole harness. Seeing as the engine isn’t melted down , but everything around it including the interior . Something wiring guaranteed ☹️🤦‍♂️ . Lots to save and rebuild once again 👌😎

Isn't it interesting ho ALL of the plastic seems to have burned while the coolant overflow just melted? I can't help but wonder WHY the plastics in a new vehicle are so flammable in the first place? I mean, look at it, basically EVERYTHING that was made of plastic didn't melt it BURNED. The truly scary part is that, it looks like, ALL of the wire insulation(plastic too) appears to have burned away as well EVERYWHERE that I could see. For the money they charge for these new vehicles this is a truly nutz.

Been there. But except I was "Racing a GTR in my G8" and Trans line went and Caught fire doing "100+" and spun down the freeway and not hit anything.
