Hey mate.. i wish i had my car here to try it lol. Been changed to week 29 for its build tho... Also have u heard of any app you can use to track its build etc.. also good contacts within Audi Uk my dealership are being unhelpfull

****Heads Up**** Heard from a mate who works in Ford …. A company who makes micro chips for all car manufacturers had a huge fire at their plant and that is why most cars are held up. Your dealership won’t tell you that tho. I’ve been waiting 13 weeks now for my new build, was expected last week but dealership says Audi have provided no updates as to when they receive the car. Any longer and il tell them to ram it and buy a wee Vauxhall corsa they look smart.

Had my factory built A3 Edition 1 Sportback arrive last weekend. Agreed app is pretty limited, but no issues with locking and warnings so far. A key is quicker as you say, but I guess the point is if I'm at work without my car keys and had left it unlocked, I dont have to come home and get someone to check on the car. For me that's a win even if it takes 5 seconds to accept my command.

I also have the app (for iphone) and yes it is really unstable and mostly with errors. a shame because the idea behind it is really good

For me, the most useful feature is the app’s ability to send my destination to the sat nav before getting into the car. It also allows you to see the chosen route, travel time and traffic situation before getting into the car. Better still, it has access to addresses stored in my calendar, which makes it a very fast way of setting destinations for scheduled events. (All the more important since the car - at least in MHEV form - drives better when it knows where you are going.) I’m using an iPhone, so the Android App may differ.

Thanks Adam, I used that feature once or twice and it can become useful when having multiple stops/destinations in one day. For me though much like the rest of the app it hardly works, plus I've now started logging in as guest to see if it helps at all with the mmi reboots (testing it out as a potential workaround at the moment, but it seems promising)

@@CRD90 it’s never failed for me (and I use it a lot). But I’ve also never had the SOS fault and only once have I had an MMI user login failure so perhaps those problems are all related?

@@AdamCalow yeah possibly down to the car losing internet connection as the SOS light etc also seems liked to the car losing signal from what I can see (when it happens the car signal is always non existent) Hope this gets fixed soon, loving the car other than these niggles

Hi@@mohammedgafoor8543. It is not demonstrated in CRD’s video, but it’s accessible from the middle icon at the bottom of the screen (looks a little like a fold out map). As well as access to your calendar, it also has access to your contacts and syncs recent destinations and favourites from the car MMI (as well as having the search functions that you’d expect in any navigation app.)

Hi Auzzam - finally got my A3 tfsi 45e - thanks for all your reviews and tests of everything. Actually made a great deal at the cardealer because of all the faults as well you listed and found. Did you find your A3 to be a bit high in the suspension as well? I had the A3 limited edition from 18 TFSI 40 before - I compared them today, and it's about 40mm or so higher than my previous. If you did, what kind of suspension kit did you go for? Thanks again for ALL the content you provided here, so much in depth knowledge, will be going over some of them again to refresh on functionality.

Thanks buddy really appreciate the support and kind words! I do hope Audi will pick up on this soon enough as I would love to do something similar should they Lend me a few cars from their other range. This gen of A3 is definitely higher, if you did not have the sports suspension then it sits really high. I reviewed a tfsi 40e a while back which was pretty high. Have you got 18" wheels?

@@CRD90 Yea I thought I did - took the S-line pack and suspension it said, but still way higher than my previous. I am not looking for the whole 1cm off ground look, that is just annoying to drive around with really. But yea I got 18" on mine, and they actually look small when it's that high. If you could give any advice on how to lower it, that would be greatly appreciated, im getting into modding / changing my car due to your channel - so really hope you have a lot of success to help others. Will probably try and find some carbon skirts if possible as well - im going for the all black edition of it - black logo front and back, black rims and im getting my front lights tinted all black friday as well.

@@eXceFPS great stuff bud, make sure you buy the badges through our link so you save 10% and get the correct sizes for the car. In terms of lowering, there are a few springs people have had fitted. This removes the arch gap tremendously and looks really good. Unfortunately, my wife won't let me do that to her car 🤣 so doubt I'll be able to show it! If you do end up doing it, just make sure the garage is aware that the headlight leveling sensor is attached to the rear struts, when they are lowered this can snap if not done properly and then means you'll get a warning light and eventually have to fix it.

@@CRD90 sorry for taking over your video comments with this - I know it were about the app and has nothing to do with my questions. Could you paste the link? tried looking on your profile even on facebook and have a hard time locating it. So new to this, I will have to go through a lot to understand the whole suspension setup - I don't want to buy something, that then won't fit in the end. Great advice on that part - when I finally find something, ill let the dealer know! Again mate, so great with all the support and videos! I'll try post a picture of my A3 when it's done!

700 miles in, I have to be honest. Both issues with MMI, and SOS haven't been as bad as I thought. Keeping the MMI as 'Guest' reduces issue's with the MMI system. I appreciate people having a rough time but apart from specific locations, my A3 has been brilliant. I do appreciate this is a difficult issue for Audi and VW, but it's not as simple as some think. Mostly, the car has been perfect but definitely has some issues which VW are struggling with.

Definitely agree, logging in as a guest seems to help. I always try to take it with a pinch of salt, it's not human nature to jump online and shout about the positives of a product, usually only when we have issues 🙂 But I do have faith that they will have to fix the issues one day soon so am keeping my fingers crossed

@@CRD90 definitely mate. This is difficult. 95% of my driving, I've had no issues. Only during specific journeys I know I'll have the SOS pop up. How on earth as a car manufacturer do you deal with an issue like this?

@@milpatel83 I think as a large company they could make it a lot better just by admitting the issues rather than ignoring/denying them. Its okay to make mistakes, but refusing to acknowledge and deal with them is in my opinion what makes my Audi customer experience negative.

@@milpatel83 I took delivery of my A3 in November 2020 and the first two months were horrific. SOS light almost every day, MMI restarting every day. I barely recall a single journey which was problems free. I had a first software update in January, which somehow seems to have calmed down the issue with the sos warning light, and now I get the error more or less every couple of months, which is not bad. On the other hand, issues with the MMI and MyAudi account have worsen quite badly. I am now only using the system as a guest only, as I got fed up with being cut off from sat nav whilst in unknown areas. I also got fed up with accepting or denying user account updates 4-5 times during a single journey, and I could go on and on forever. The guest user trick seems to have reduced the number of hiccups, but still the bitter taste remains. And don’t even get me started on my email conversations with Audi Digital Services, when you are constantly talking with copy/paste cyborgs who don’t show any understanding or sympathy for you or your brand new, expensive, faulty car. They never came back with any constructive or useful suggestion. All they do is “I’ve escalated your query to our technical department” who also never comes back to you anyway

@@fabian78 probably off-shore support team but that's no excuse. Thanks for sharing the guest account work around hopefully that will help other owners. You're absolutely right, the bitter taste is hard to shake. The car is great, but the way they treat us owners with any problems is far from okay.

Is the my audi app just another method of pushing service reminders to you, doesn’t seem to offer much functionality. The delay with the lock and unlock feature is a pain and would prefer an auto start stop function and heat/cool.

Any advice welcome! I’ve set mine up and logged in on the mmi but for some reason even after choosing to remain logged in the system keeps losing my credentials and requires sign in most times. Bit frustrating

Thanks for commenting bud, are you set as the primary user? I've also heard sometimes the complexity of the password can impact how well it remembers it, so it might be worth a go resetting the password to something more simple. If that still doesn't work there's an Audi connect digital services hotline (24/7) who might be able to help 👍🏽

One thing I found frustrating was that you could not remotely ventilate in hot and cold days. This is a standard feature in my BMW and a life saver in cold mornings to defrost you car.

Definitely, it's standard on so many cars now days. I feel the technology area is one in which Audi is seriously lacking at the moment, full of bugs and lacking any decent features

I got my A3 in March app worked for about 2 months now randomly stopped working. It would often give incorrect status saying I’d left the car unlocked or lights on. App has so much potential but needs a lot more development! Also having issues with the MMI randomly switching its self on and off whilst in use and not recognising the key user.

For the mmi reboots try logging in as a guest user and see if that helps at all. Not a fix I know, but it might be a decent work around until Audi pull their fingers out!

You can set the heating if you have an electrified vehicle. They deliberately don’t include the feature on fully ICE cars because of German anti idling laws.

@@Beardchanics definiteley - this is most true with the sat nav. Google maps / Waze / Apple maps will always be more up to date then their own. Manufacturers simply cannot keep up which makes things feel clunky and out of date quickly.

On my bmw app I can turn on my a/c from the app before getting in… bmw I3…. can you do this? As I am thinking about getting the A3 e but that function is a must now that I’m Used to it !!

Hi Michael, Thanks for watching, hope you've subscribed for more content and to help us grow 😊 Unfortunately no you cannot do this on the petrol/diesel versions. I believe if you have the hybrid tfsiE model then you can set the air con on a schedule.

Does this app have keyless entry function & compatible with iphone? My car has been delayed by a month, now due end of July so will try it once it arrives - seems like forever now, ordered March 4th 😒

Not got my A3 yet but this seems pretty poor fair compared to others. My current cars app shows you every journey plus I can start it remotely so it’s nice and warm in the winter months or cool in the summer. It also has tracking function in case it was stolen. It can lock and unlock the car (does this without fail) plus a vehicle health report and I I can call the assistance from it too. The Audi one seems pretty crap in comparison

Great video as always.... shame the same can’t be said about the app! It’s useless, inaccurate and Audi have never tried to improve it. Not like they couldn’t afford it let’s be honest!

I have had a lot of problems with both the Windows Audi desktop website and the Android app. When my 2021 1.5 TFSI S Line was about 5 months old according to the dealership it needed a new modem control unit under warranty. After some more months with the car, I suspect the intermittent functionality of the app and MMI features are solely to do with Audi's over the air system, not the car. For example, after a few days of not being available, I see weather and news are available again today. Also, the app/desktop site hasn't been able to update the mileage/fuel level etc. for some days but those have started now working. I am less tolerant than Future3, to me, Audi is a premium brand and I don't care what the tech problems are. From a customer perspective, I expect things to work as they are part of the specification of the car and what I've paid for. I am surprised that the Audi Board Member with responsibility for the over the air services still has their job! In mitigation, I wonder if some of the problems arise from poor mobile data coverage and slow 5G rollout in the UK. Finally, despite UK objections, the SOS system is, I believe a statutory requirement in all cars produced since 2018 - it certainly is across the EU, so it needs to work.

My Audi Connect went down on Boxing Day 2020….a call to the service centre….”yeh, no problem we’ll update when you bring it in for a service”…..roll on 2 months….gets sorted. 3 weeks later….’your licence had expired’ lol

@@Cookie2kThat's appalling. Sometimes in the past the Helpdesk extended the licence. You also touch on another point, as customers we are expected to bear with and understand Audi's position but their communication and customer care aren't very good so my goodwill to them is limited.

I can totally relate to your experience and I 100% feel the same way about my car and the service I’ve “received” from Audi so far… it’s a shame really, because the car itself is a lovely vehicle. I hope things will improve in the near future

@@audidryvera3503 on a previous and separate issue I wasn’t happy with the dealer so contacted Audi UK and within 24 hours I had the dealership MD call profusely apologising and the issue was resolved immediately with them collecting the car. Should never have got to that point though. I love Audi’s but their dealerships customer service is appalling now.

The later models do, I had an early model before my vorsprung which did not have it. If your car has been built post January chances are you'll have the function regardless of whether or not you have keyless entry 👍🏽

CRD how very interesting! I know the new 2021 price list just came out. There is a new option showing up under equipment called “Connect package Plus 13”. Wonder if that has something to do with it?

My contract has run out on Audi connect , they wanted £100+ to reactive it , not worth the money in my opinion, but well presented video!

@@kevkav5680 same here mate. £100 or £11pm lol Audi can do one! The app features on the previous gen A3 are even more limited! Useful features like pre-conditioning the cabin are non existent although they have put it into the Q4.

Under the theft & location can you not actually track the vehicle? As it would be useful to be able to track the car's location in case the worst happens and the car is stolen? Would probably help with insurance to say you have a tracker too...

Im not impressed with the functions on my Audi A8...I find my previous Jaguar XJ was absolutely fantastic and the Merc S Class was also extremely good, why can't they get it right ??

Don't get me wrong I love my Audi A8 , but you can't control your windows, neither your pre heat/Cool, start /stop your vehicle , panic alarm, flash your lights and the whole app now is not colourful. Surely the techs of Audi could sort it in no time, they must in their time have driven other makes. Lets hope they read reviews and come forward with some suggestions....after all these cars are expensive!

The app is next to useless especially when it’s from an automotive world leader. I’m finding the infotainment system to be extremely flaky as well. It reboots or doesn’t work at least once a week 🙈 Off back to the garage with it soon!

100% agree half hearted development team - coming from an IT background I'm not sure how they can get away with this. Try logging in as a guest to see if that helps short term with the reboots??

@@CRD90 will try the guest option and see what happens. Don’t get me wrong, when the info system works it’s pretty clear and does a decent job. Just a bit flaky at times. A colleague of mine has had issues with his 2020 A1 since he got it. Had to have it replaced in the end.

@@CRD90 sorry, they changed the infotainment system. Big job to do and they made a bit of a mess of it by damaging the dash. Got it resolved in the end too. The error he had was a Linux shell displaying instead of the infotainment system!

I hope its ok to share my story about my Audi A3 (2022 Saloon S-line 150 hp, S-tronic). 8 hours after picking it up from the dealership, a sensor in the s-tronic shifter died, and the car had to be turned in for repair for 6 days. Now 3 weeks later I turned in a list to my Audi dealership containing: several periodic failures in the display (Battery not leading, keys are not in the car, P-button malfunction ect.). The locksystem is periodic down, which means that doors needs to be opened by the key (try guiding your wife to do that when she is locked out, via the phone...) The Autohold function that e bought as extra is permanently off, and cannot be turned on. The Aircon is starting and stopping, which is completely annoying (full power - stop, full power stop...). The MMI is killing me with different loading screens. Sometime I have to wait more than 5 mins to even access the MMI. Other times it goes on, and I need to manually reset the MMI. When the MMI is on, everything is so slow. Changing a song on apple carplay has 1-2 sec delay, leaving you uncertain if you did press the button or not, making you skip to the next song. There is a smell of burnt rubber comming from front right wheel. When turning really sharp (like on a parking lot) there are strange noises comming from the front wheels. When raining the wipers are wobbling and the arm moving in steps. The Rearview camera is lagging, meaning the car that just passed you is showing 4 seconds later on screen. Doorhandles are wobbling like they are comming off any time soon. The car is going back for repairs a week from now. Scheduled to last a week. That means that our summer vacation has to be cancelled. (We planned a road trip to the Alps). SO to sum up. have had the car for a month now, 13 of those days back on the dealership. The happy feeling of a brand new car is ruined. Vacation ruined. The attitude towards the new car is "I want to get rid of it". Its a leasing car, meaning there are no option to get out of the contract for another 10 months and the initial payment will be lost. That leaves me with one option, if the dealership is unable to fix it. Hiring a solicitor and going to trial. Will I be a returning customer at Audi... not in a million years! A 65.000 euro car (Danish prices) should be perfect is every way.

Sorry to read this bud, sounds like you've got a real bad example of it. Really bad that you cannot just return the car without going down the legal route or if they could swap it for another. I too recently had my issues with the dealerships but then switched the dealer I was asking to fix the issues. Theyve been somewhat better and managing expectations. The parking brake is worrying as I've heard of someone else who's parking brake failed and his car rolled into his garage.

Having owned several new Audi's in the last 5 years, I have to say the myaudi app is garbage. It does nothing and tells me nothing of any interest. My next door neighbors Jag app does everything. open/close windows, put the ac on, put heating on, start the car, full real time tracking, software updates over the air, the list goes on. embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, I would not have a JLR product for any money, but the app for a premium brand like Audi needs serious attention and improvements to even compete with my transit custom app.

8 months on with my A3. The app is a bag of shit. Limited is an understatement. Annoying as hell when entering the car the app opens when using my fone. By the time you use app to open doors you’ve been robbed 😁. Still awaiting my front / rear cameras I purchased 18 months ago. No sourcing of a bracket thing to attach to car. Only made in Ukraine. Be ashamed Audi 😳
