They definitely have more fun in college gymnastics. It's actually really beautiful that she and Chellsie are returning to elites and bringing some of that with them.
Because the choreography is better. The guy that does all of usa gymnastics routine clearly doesn't fit the dancing with the athletes. If you look at the team all of them have similar problems woth the dancing and a lot of ackward movements.
@Ch Cand She used it back in 2016 for Elite as well- so it may have been weird for her to use music she’s already performed with. That’s how i imagine it anyway.
I have just seen it now and it is quite impressive in terms of difficulty compared to the majority of the nowadays NCAA routines in terms of difficulty.
can someone please tell me the way she sticks her Tumbles with putting one foot behind her and saluting? I always thought a real stick was it moving and landing perfectly with two feet together. Someone please explain because I am confused ;-;
Camila Gagliardi the perfect stick you are referring to is an "elite stick". Here in NCAA you are allowed a step as long as the landing is controlled. To be honest I think this rule can lead to overscoring some of the routines, but this is only a personal comment.
in elite they care more about the tumbling passes and how you do your skills. in college they focus a lot in dancing too. so i’ll elite people doing normally do more fun dancing routines. and you never know she just maybe had more fun doing that routine than her routine in elite
Coming back to elite, she was also very sick with COVID and other things, which really took a chunk out of her stamina and endurance. You should check out her youtube though- she’s grown a lot!
What the hell do women's collegiate coaches even do on those benches?... how the hell are so many of these girls getting perfect scores?..I'm not even a judge and I can easily see multiple places in each of these routines where deductions need to be taken...makes no sense lol but hey I guess that's why overall women's gymnastics tends to get worse in college than high school, the scoring system prevents them from wanting to push the limits.
Sean Quinn in gymnastics you are allowed to take a controlled lunge back and the judges won’t take points and in ncaa gymnastics the judges aren’t as picky as elite
Fully aware of the step back rule (which is a garbage rule) and judges should be picky in every facet of our sport of gymnastics. Women's gymnastics needs to adopt open-ended scoring.
Sean Quinn the reason why the lunge back is accepted in collegiate gymnastic is because during competition season they compete almost everyday throughout months and if it's like elite gymnastic, everybody would be getting injured as you can see from elite gymnastic itself so many gymnast are getting injured from trying to stick landings on every events
I don't know who is telling you this or what but that is a complete lie. Men try to stick every landing to show ultimate control of the skill and I have never EVER seen anyone get injured trying to stick a landing throughout all my years competing (including elite level) or my years of coaching. That literally makes no sense and is totally invalid haha. Furthermore, they do not compete almost every day (unless you mean running routines in practice, which is what I did every practice and never had any issues with landings), that is complete crap
She has such poor sportsmanship! A ten doesn't excuse it, or give her the ability to act however she wants. Seeing how Utah has not done anything about her behavior publicly, they've sent the message that they endorse her behavior. She was liking things on Twitter today about how she should have been Pac-12 Freshman of the Year over Kyla Ross. A few weeks ago she posted a photo on Instagram calling ASU trash before their dual meet. That is already bad enough, but ASU ranks dead last in the Pac-12, so a powerhouse team like Utah making comments like that about a much lower ranked team appear like bullying to me. Not to mention the derogatory tweets she made about Gabby Douglas( that many interpreted as racist) after she was selected for the Olympic team. Skinner, the team, and their coaches need to clean up their attitude.
sammysamz21 I have to agree. I never really could see her making the Olympic team as her form (which has gotten better) still does not bode well internationally. she was known for throwing big skills with eh ok form She did have a great trials, but that was the best meet she had and Martha just trusted gabby more and USA needed another bar worker, Skinner isn't it. I thought she belonged at the college Level, but after her shade towards kyla, whose the sweetest person ever....she doesn't even belong
sammysamz21 I totally agree, and such poor sportsmanship should not be accepted. Also, when Ucla was at Utah, there's no way they can win as they didn't have enough time to travel as well as to prep for competitions. However the audience at Utah cheered when the Bruins had a fall or a balance check. Such behaviour should not be accepted and Skinner should humble up
That's horrible, I didn't know about this. I first saw Mykayla at Olympic trials and honestly cringed at her technique. Sorry! Sure she can tumble, but Gabby deserved that spot for her bars especially. And Kyla I think is a better gymnast overall than Mykayla.
Not to mention at the UCLA v Utah meet there were Utah gymnasts rolling their eyes when Madison Kocian was announced. I guess they thought their bad attitudes were a way of showing "solidarity" with Skinner because she didn't make the Olympic team. Miss Val, UCLA's head coach, also publicly said that Utah fans were coming and flipping off her gymnasts and shouting derogatory comments at that meet. Looks like something is in the water at Utah and it is not good.
MyLifeAs a Bubblegum elaborate on that because she nailed all of these tumbling passes compared to her elite career and from my point of view it looks like she was hitting 180 degrees in her leaps to me
Claro Mepa did you even LISTEN to the commentators? They don’t take points off for lunge-backs if they show true control, which Mykayla pretty much had throughout the entire routine.
The choreography is sooo bad. It’s like a child in the talent portion of a beauty pageant. The part after her second tumbling pass in the corner made me laugh and cringe at the same time….,.. tumbling is fire though
