Great reaction ! This version of "Holy War" LIVE from the HMND concert in 2021 is seldom reacted to. In this version, "Holy War" was the 17th and last track of the set before 2 encores. After nearly 2 hours of an immense-paced show, Asami (the vocalist) still managed to belt and hold the high notes TWICE with ease in that song. She's incredible.

Great reaction. Found them 3 years ago and they came fast my favorite band. The black-haired guitarist, Miyako, is now my all time favorite artist. She is an amazing guitarist and even a better pianist. The whole band is amazing. There is a great piano-cover of Helloweens “Eagle fly free” by Miyako on their channel. Don’t know if you like piano but just watch it. Love this Japanese bands. Also big fan of Nemophila, Band Maid and Baby Metal. Go to see Baby Metal live in December. Thanks for this reaction. Subscribed.

( The following text was created using translation software. Please tolerate any strange expressions. ) BABYMETAL is a special case born from a TV project called "Fusion of Idol and METAL." Although not technically a metal band, it is true that BABYMETAL created a new genre of "kawaii-metal" and breathed new life into the stagnant metal scene. The trouble is, however, that LOVEBITES are often judged as a kawaii-metal based on their appearance and shunned without even listening to their songs, so as one of their fans, I am very pleased to see them being used in reaction videos.

Great reaction. Actually all 3 guitarists were doing the finger tapping which is shown on the 2020 live version. These women are so ace at their instruments that we really need a split screen with multiple cameras to fully appreciate them. Especially so where Haruna, on drums, is concerned.

Indeed there are many talented rock bands coming out of Japan. But Lovebites outperform any and all others, and are 100% metal. I’m 63, and I’ve seen many of the “greats”, going back to when Maiden had DiAnno and seeing Zeppelin live at Knebworth in 1980. In March I saw Lovebites live. None of the “greats” are or were as good as Lovebites. They are the best band I have ever experienced. I cannot say “greatest” because “greatness” requires widespread popularity. But I say nobody has ever played as well, as consistently, as positively and with such obvious enthusiasm as Lovebites. Nobody.

65 here. I've been involved in this industry since high school. I've even got my own fan club over and above the band, lol. Now, Miyako is INSANE, but you apparently haven't heard Japan's "premier" female Metal band yet. In 2019, 5 of Japan's top female metal talents got together for a one-night-only exhibition. It turned out so good that they stayed together. They're a full fledge permanent band now. Absolutely stunning. Your jaw WILL drop. NEMOPHILA = 5-piece all-female SuperGroup. Hard/Heavy. World-class drum/bass duo; Twin shredders; True front person (clean/scream). ⭐【Raitei】MV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lh-dVLKP314.html ⭐【Revive】MV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zmRmVc4u18w.html ⭐【Rise】MV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rD3VMAm-9iA.html

Don't be afraid to fall into the rabbit hole. It's the best one you'll ever fall into! They're the greatest metal band in the world right now. It's totally worth exploring them. They've become my favorite band of all time. They're amazing. I really enjoyed this reaction. This was the last song of the set from their 2021 tour. It's the lesser-reacted version of Holy War, as compared to the 2020 one, but it was fun to see this one, as I think it is just as good. I always get a kick out of when Miyako and Midori are together, and Midori is playing her solo, and Miyako is holding the line. She's playing, but not even paying attention to what she's doing - she's watching Midori's solo. Haha. Miyako is such a music nerd and a prodigy. Asami - lead vocalist Haruna - drummer Miho - bassist (left in 2021 and now the bassist is Fami) Midori - guitarist stage right Miyako - piano, guitarist stage left The list of possible recommendations for you to watch next could be endless. They don't have a bad song. I'm going to save a few for later, so I will only recommend a few for now. Welcome to the Wolfpack! These 5 young ladies came together in 2016, and bare in mind that they were on hiatus for about a year so are still relatively a young band. Miho on the bass here (now gone), and Haruna, drums, are the founding members and played together with Dextrose so that explains why they are so tight, and Miyako and Midori on guitars are basically just that good, all are imo virtuoso musicians, and as for Asami 'The One and Only Voice' says it all. High notes and low notes long and short and can and does change style to suit song. Enjoy the journey 🤘🔥🎤🥁🎹🎸🐺

This is actually my favorite live version of the track - the ‘other version’ is amazing, but with this as the final track of the regular set, Asami is STILL holding those insanely long notes… just wow! And I prefer the solo section in this version - probably because this is one of the rare times you will see Miyako give Midori a quick ‘hell yes hug’ at the end of the solo. Fire? Very much so 🎸🤘

You have mentioned a couple of times how the drummer, Haruna is driving the songs. Her nickname is "Little Big Engine". Coming in at 4'10". Tallest in the band is 5'0". A bit taller with 6" spiked heels! When you get to my favorite song of theirs, check out Midori's (guitar player on left - Bass Ass Warrior Princess!) arms. Her arms are as equally shredded as is her guitar playing. She competes in bodybuilding. Actually.. when Midori and Miyako (here she has a 4-5 baby bump as well) is tapping simultaneously before the solo, Miho , the former bassplayer, is tapping as well. You can both see and hear it on the live version of 2020. That version is better postmixed but I like this version better not just that Asami's last note is fantastic but this concert has more live feeling on the sound then the 2020 concert, 2020 concert is extremely perfect sound-vice and they are more tighter on that concert .. in 2021 version You can hear some minor misses comparing to studioversions and shows that they are humans after all, and this is during pandemic time and clapping hands was the only thing allowed for the crowd. Clap 'till the hands bleed must be the motto on that concert! *-)

This is with their old bassist Miho. I see you have done Stand and Deliver, that's with their new bassist Fami. The guitars are Midori blonde hair, Miyako black hair, Haruna drums, Asami vocals. This will not fit into one comment, so check the next one as well. Japan has had an active all-girl metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them. It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are high quality and are representative of the band's style. If you put the question out there, you are likely to get suggestions mainly for Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. You can’t go wrong with any of those, but find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. My personal favorites include Asterism, Bridear, Doll$Boxx, existTtrace, Hagane, Hanabie, Mary’s Blood, Sokoninaru and Tricot. Ok, the list: Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oJ_5Gv3vFjQ.html Shonen Knife (1981 The world’s first bubblegum punk band. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JpyzVlPJC2g.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-CH-FLS2kM.html (This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.) Easily the best known band on this list other than Babymetal, they are more hard rock and prog than metal. Just did a 14 city US tour in 2022 that sold out 48 hours after being listed, and are doing a 2023 global10th anniversary tour) Here is a live clip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FHpuEqMAcDg.html Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LQIDqudG_DQ.html Cyntia (2011 Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FnhObh5i_3U.html D-Drive (2009 Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Anything negative....yes these women are not capable of making, arranging or performing a bad song. This is a great song but for many, myself included, it doesn't make their top ten list. Think about what that means for you going forward especially LIVE where these women just don't shine they dominate. Check out their songs from Wacken Open Air 2018 (1st all female Japanese band to appear at the Mecca of Metal) you will get a real appreciation for this band that had been together for just about a year.

One of my top 10, but I still prefer the Zepp Diver version. Still one of those ya cannot sit still during.

First time here! Awesome reaction! I did notice you mentioned baby metal as an all female band.. Actually it’s an all male band with three girls doing the choreography onstage. Band Maid is definitely something to admire and to react to if you like the ladies actually playing instruments and rocking out. A nice first try would be reacting to the song (Warning) the music video or if live is more your thing , give (Domination) live version a try . This band can do no wrong ,too many songs to react to that are great . By the way they’re on tour in the US atm. Enjoy! 👍

Metal moved from America to europe 🤔🤔🤔. I highly doubt it! This sort of genre started in the UK, then Europe, then the US. Ordinary rock, maybe in the US. Even that form of rock never took off in Japan, they tried with the assistance of Gene Simmons with EZO, but they never took off 🙄. Hell of a difference in the 80's between NWoBHM and AOR, one is hard and the other is ponsy!!

Great band !!!!!! But can't get past the vocalist vibrato......I enjoy Nemophila more....But the musicianship is strong but haven't found a song that really grabs me......everything Nemophila puts out I absolutely love.

As I always say, Holy War is a great song but not their best to me. I think they have several better. But it is a good representation of what you will get from them. I just wish reactors would pick a different first live song to react from them just for variety. Also, when peeps keep saying this song, it makes it sound like this is the only one worth listening to. Which is far from the truth. Oh they have a new bass player now. You can see her in Judgement Day and Stand and Deliver.
