MYNH: First Time Hearing The Warning - Disciple (Live!)! Mexico Shows Up On the Rock Scene! 

One of the biggest compliments I can give these young ladies is that a couple of the big bands they recently opened for have invited them to do it again. They opened four shows for Muse during their tour of Mexico earlier this year, and were then asked if they'd like to open some shows in Europe this summer, which they are doing right now - 4 shows in the UK and one in France. They also opened one show for G'n'R last fall in their hometown of Monterrey, and were recently booked for two more shows in September (in TN and FL). In both cases these bands bypassed groups from their home countries to extend an invite to three hard-rocking young sisters from Mexico. Repeat business is good business.

Oh man, you’re in for a treat. Lyrically it’s a bit of a rant against being a blind follower, don’t be fooled by social media and think for yourself. All their lyrics are in some way empowering and telling us to think for ourselves. In my opinion they are the best thing in the rock world in many many years, insanely talented, hard working from a young age and the nicest people in the business. You’ll definitely want to hear more of them.

Welcome to The Warning and their fan base The Warning Army (TWA). Prepare for a lot of information about these amazing young women. Incredible musicians, song writers, music arrangers and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. After going almost 20 years without going to a live show, I saw The Warning three times last year and twice (Atlanta and Charlotte) a few weeks ago. If I had the money, I would be at every one of their shows. They are that good and their shows leave you wanting more. Never had that experience before with any other band. Look forward to your next TW reaction. They released several songs from this same show at the Teatro Metropolitan so I would recommend staying with them initially. That was a fun reaction, I can tell you will enjoy this band. Like many others, I'm an old school rocker who grew uninterested in modern music until The Warning came along. By the 3rd song I heard I knew I was going to be a huge fan of them! I recommend you check their fan-favorite second album, Queen of the Murder Scene. The phrase "you have been warned" was used by the drummer in their second University of Nevada TEDx Talk in 2017. This past weekend Dany, the guitarist, sang a song with Three Days Grace at two festivals in Germany. Welcome to these three sisters from Monterrey MX. You seem to have gotten Warned early. All three of them are classically trained pianists and all of them sing. Meet Daniela (Dany, guitar, age 23), Paulina (Pau 'Pow', drums, 21), and Alejandra (Ale 'AH-lay', bass, age 18). They have been playing together now for nearly 10 years with several albums of original music. They had more than 100 tour dates in 2022. They are fantastic live. They have a large following who will be showing up soon. Many of us fans are old rockers who have been waiting for a new sound to come to hard rock for the past 20+ years and have finally found that with The Warning. They take their musical interest from all over the spectrum. Some metal, lots of hard rock, some punk, a bit of 90s alt rock, k-pop, even some broadway. But they really have developed their own sound. Any of the performances from this Teatro Metropolitan show are fantastic. Since I expect you might be interested in continuing on The Warning path, I would suggest a three video series so you can see how far they have come. The Warning have a wonderful relationship with Metallica’s Enter Sandman. 1) The did a video cover in their basement when they were 14, 12, and 9 that their father uploaded to RU-vid for the grandparents to see. Start here. 2) Metallica invited Alessia Cara to participate in the Blacklist 30th Anniversary album. Alessia’a team contacted The Warning and the two groups wrote, recorded, and produced an entirely new version of Sandman in only one week that ended up being the lead track on Metallica’s anniversary album. The official music video for that is a great second video. 3) The Warning then did their Sandman version at the same Teatro Metropolitan concert you have been watching. This live performance is epic. Several reactors have done these back to back in the same reaction video and been blown away. By your reactions so far, i think you might really enjoy this. We boys need to face the fact that the future is female. IMO, if the women keep bringing this level of talent and energy, I am all for it.

Welcome to The Warning rabbit hole. These three ladies have opened this old guy's (51) eyes to a whole new generation of rock. My whole family have been to several shows now and they are opening the door and inviting a new generation in. They are hardworking, humble, authentic, are showing young females that you do not have to be sexualized that the music is what matters. My Daughters who are currently 9 enjoy listing to them without me and have had so much fun at their concerts, third graders sporting The Waring shirts 2 times a week at school. So excited to share this music with them and everyone else. Another band the family loves is Plush dream show when we got to see them and The Warning together.

Every song from The Warning needs to be reviewed with the lyrics, innate message & back story, if available. Because they are the most intellectual band to emerge in decades. Their profound metaphorical songwriting on contemporary society sets them apart from the crowd. So you can always read what the band says about their songs during your reviews. Their ages at the time of composing a song & playing it in public should be noted too in reviews. This song is about how social media controls us with fabricated info. Pau, the drummer, got inspired about the main riff in a Canadian supermarket in 2019. She came home, composed the song on her piano including the bass intro and called her sisters. They were 19, 17 & 14 then. That is why Dany, guitarist, starts the song as an antagonist with "The sun is YOUR enemy today" while Pau picks it up as a disciple in the 2nd verse with "The sun is MY enemy today". The sisters trade off lead vocals as demanded by the script. You can make out the difference in their vocal textures. Ale, the bassist, mainly harmonizes in the lower frequencies with infrequent falsettos as required by the song. The Warning are masters in composing in minor scales. Quite often they introduce a full sequence of major chords for the same verse to break the monotony. And that downward bend in vocals here is typically The Warning with this progression G Bb E A G#m . I mean G & G#m in the same sequence - are you kidding me? Among their 3 full albums & 2 EPs the girls have published a concept album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene where they have mused over unrequited love, death, self harm, suicide & lunacy. Pau was in middle school going through her emo phase when she tabled the 1st draft in front of her sisters. Just to keep it in context, five decades back Roger Waters dealt with death, lunacy & depression in The Dark Side of the Moon. Dive into their rabbit hole that stretches back more than a decade to when they were playing classical piano as 6-8 year olds. Its all on YT. They have practically grown up on social media. The Warning music is a deep, deep well. This song is off of their 3rd album ERROR and I'd continue with the songs from this same show like ANIMOSITY, MONEY and their incredible reimaginaion of Metallica's Enter Sandman which was included on the Blacklist 30th anniversary album. There are great official videos for DISCIPLE, EVOLVE, ERROR and Enter Sandman. Their 2nd album has live videos for all the songs from Lunario CDMX and it is a concept album and is an amazing work, especially since it was written and performed by teenagers. The debut is very good and there are loads of videos going back to their very beginning when they went viral at 14, 12 and nine years old covering Enter Sandman.

The Warning started playing as a Band about 10 years ago when they were 13, 11, and 8 years old by playing covers of their favorite songs in 2014 they posted a video to RU-vid of them playing a Cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman and that video sent Viral to date it has over 24 million views. They recorded an EP in 2015 and their first full Album in 2017, Their second Album in 2018, a single in 2019 that single is their first song in Spanish, in 2020 they were signed by Lave/Republic Records and they Traveled to New Jersey to Record their 3rd Album with Producer David Bendeth, but because of the Pandemic Lava only released Half the Album in 2021 and the Whole Album in 2022. In 2021 they were asked to record a Cover for The Metallica Blacklist Album and they teamed up with Canadian Pop Singer Alessia Cara and they recorded a Cover of Enter Sandman, At the End of May this year they finished their American Tour and Right Now they are Touring in Europe.

The Warning are breaking out. They are on tour with Muse in UK this month and just announced a couple shows opening for Guns N Roses in US in August. They have already opened for both bands. They are playing major European festivals this summer and sold out headlining shows in Berlin, Madrid and Barcelona. In Mexico, they are playing an 8000 seat arena later this year. They have literally grown up on RU-vid going viral at ages 9,12 and 14 with a cover of Enter Sandman. They wrote a concept album Queen of the Murder Scene at ages 13, 16 and 18. Their most recent album Error is their first major label release. They are the first Mexican artist ever signed to a major US label.

Thanks for the reaction. The Warning are definitely breaking out on the rock scene. They've been an independent band since 2013 as literal children and have an ever growing fan base. They Were signed a 5 record deal with Lava / Republic records in 2020 retaining much of what they've garnered over the years as well as complete control of their music and image. In fact, a first Latin band to ever sign with a major American label (I think that's the story - The Warning Army will correct me if i'm wrong). Anyway, they are on tour now in Europe, both headlining and opening for Muse & Royal Blood.

Welcome to the wonderful world of The Warning! The first Latin American rock band to sign with a major US label are currently conquering Europe right now as well. While I would suggest starting out with any of the other videos from this concert at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, there is something else to keep in mind if you want to take a nice deep dive into this amazing rabbit hole. Their second album as an independent band is a full concept album called Queen of the Murder Scene and is an absolute masterpiece. They debuted it in order live in 2018 (when they were 18, 16, and 13) at Lunario CDMX and had that whole concert professionally filmed. After almost 30 years of being mostly disappointed by what I heard in the R&R world, I found these smart and powerful girls that know how to do rock the right way. They have about 50 original songs and you will not find a single weak one. Have fun with it!!!

The Warning, as you learned Ric, write lyrics meaningful to them and the world. They deliver them with their own unique style of rock, which I find has an infectious sound. Currently they are ages 23, 21 and 18 and working on their 4th album, all original songs. I have seen them live 3 times and have videos of each on my channel. I love how each song sounds different and the lyrics are front and center. They are rock prodigies and rock story tellers. I am proud Patreon for The Warning as well as for another young female musical artist, Angelina Jordan who is a self taught jazz singer and my favorite singer story teller. Her genius arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody has been viewed over 500 million times across social media and now at age 17 is about to be fully promoted. Her wise and loving family allowed her to enjoy her childhood.

Great reaction to a great band. We saw them in May and we are seeing them again in September. They are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. All three sisters sing and play piano, and they are stellar musicians and performers. The energy they bring live is amazing and infectious. They will surprise you with their musical diversity, one song will rock out and the next will make you cry. These three extremely talented young women are the real deal. Pick any song and you will see how great they are. They have over 40 original songs and there is not a bad song in the bunch. There may be some songs you like better than others, but you have to admit that are all excellent performances.

The first time i heard them I was like WHAT!? What just happened, no way, and i had to close my mouth. I had a experience I never had before. Dany the singer caught me the moment I saw her face expressions and heard her sing. her guitar riffs punched me in the gut. She is one of the forces of nature in this group consisting of her, Pau the drummer who is something you can´t ignore. She is going at those drums with passion and Ale on the bass the queen of thunder doing her thing on a Spector bass guitar. These three sisters are doing magic together and everything they do is Art, love and passion. They made most of their ground work without being signed. So LAVA records that eventually got to sign them after negotiating for seven years, they got a ready product to help out on to the big arenas of the world. I absolutely love watching people seeing the Warning for the first time...that "WTF did I just see?" type of response.

I stumbled on this band only 72 hours ago and I'm already paraphrasing Dave Marsh's infamous declaration about Springsteen: "I've seen the future of rock and roll and its name is The Warning". All three are insanely talented but gotta give a special shoutout to Paulina, who isn't just a prodigy but a savant, a walking, talking, can-just-barely-order-a-legal-drink, generously five-foot-nothing, maybe-a-hundred-pounds-if-she-just-finished-a-SuperSized-Happy-Meal mashup of Kate Bush, Todd Rundgren, Prince, and John Bonham. I have the entire LedZep catalog but the cumulative count of albums I own by Dio, Metallica, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath is zero, so I'm no headbanger. These ladies have provided the best shot of take-no-prisoners straight up kickass rock since "Appetite for Destruction".

Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. They started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, guitarrist 23, Pau, drummer 21, and Ale, bassist 18. In 2022 they did over 100 gigs in North and South America along with Halestorm, the Pretty Reckless, and Three Days Grace. They recently did four shows with Muse in Mexico. They just finished 18 shows on the US leg of their world tour and are now in Europe. They just finished concerts in Plymouth (opening for Muse), London, Berlin, and The Netherlands. They will be opening for Muse four more times in the UK and France and headlining in Spain among others. They will open for Guns N’ Roses in September and also have two shows planned in Mexico for the Fall. They are all three classically trained pianists and Dany & Ale can play sax. All three sing lead and background vocals. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They appeared on the Ellen Show in 2015. They attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program in Boston in 2015. They are fully bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, Liceo de Monterrey. They started as a cover band and now have 47 original songs in an EP, three albums, and two singles. No bad songs. Their newest single already performed live released officially May 12th. If you want to see how TW have stayed grounded after playing a month of European dates including opening for Muse in the UK, find their "aftermovie" from Rock Am Ring and see how Dani reacts when the crowd starts chanting "Warning! Warning!" before they hit the stage. Mind you, their set was at 2:30 in the afternoon, before even Germans start drinking (unless it's Oktoberfest)!

You should delve into their back story. It will give you a whole new appreciation of these ladies. Basically, they did a cover of Enter Sandman when they were children, and uploaded it to RU-vid for their relatives to see. It went viral. That was in 2014. When Metallica was putting together their Blacklist album, they invited them to do a version of Enter Sandman. They teamed up with Alyssia Cara (Canadian pop singer with the same label as theirs), and in 10 days did a re-imagine of Enter Sandman. Metallica loved it and added it to their Blacklist album. It IS amazing. I suggest you do a double reaction to both their 2014 cover, and the re-imagined version with Alyssia Cara (music video). You will be amazed. They have written all their music themselves, with the exception of their newest single - More. Paulina (drummer) writes most of the music, then all 3 sit down and come up with the final version. I cannot say enough good about them: their song writing, talent, togetherness and joy of music. Keep going down the rabbit hole. Personally, I like their live performances the best. Their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert is super good because the audio mixing and video work is beyond excellent. You can't go wrong with any of the songs from that concert.

I first discovered The Warning back in mid 2015 when they were literally children doing covers and their father was posting videos of them on you tube for friends and family to see the girls progress. I knew right off the bat that there was something special about these three “little girls”. It has been eight years since I saw a video of them doing a cover of Metallicas Enter Sandman and have not missed a single day since in which I have listened to or watched a video of these amazing young sisters. In my 63 plus years of life I have never been so into a band as I am these young ladies. They are simply in a class of their own as no two songs sound alike. They exhibit a very wide range of “styles” in their music, yet at the same time have created a unique and distinct sound that is unmistakably their own. I believe it is impossible for them to produce a bad song. I have seen them live twice now and likely will see them again. The simply are among the best live bands I have ever seen, and I have seen many concerts in my time. They create a wall of sound that absolutely has to be experienced. I have been saying for many years now that they would one day be known world wide and be recognized as one of, if not the greatest power trio of all time. If you continue down this rabbit hole I believe you will agree that they are well on their way to bringing that prediction to fruition. Mark my words, these sisters will without a doubt sell out arenas and stadiums, and not just be invited to participate in, but headline the biggest music festivals the world has to offer. Saw them in Baltimore a couple weeks ago and they were as good as advertised. Nonstop energy and and a wall of sound, even after quite a long time on the road. These ladies have really come into their own and are seasoned professionals nowadays. Can't wait to see what the next chapter brings for DPA.

Ale the bass player was the youngest bass player ever signed by spector at age 13. She was given her own model bass when she was 15. Since then of the over 70 artists Spector has signed she is one of the 3 they feature on their Web site.

For more of Pau (the drummer) singing, I'd recommend Dust to Dust (Lunario or Foro Didi vids are good) or Narcisista. Other phenomenal songs would be Dull Knives (from The Warning Cave) or Evolve (MTV of all people has a live version of The Warning opening up for the Foo Fighters last year).

They are opening for Muse in a couple of weeks here in the UK and i am freakin STOKED. Haven't been this excited about a new band in forever.

I first heard of them 2 days ago and already a huge fan! Love their musical ability, stage presence, song writing, attitude, everything. Very old-school hard rockers. Simple and straightforward in your face rock!

I am a 50 something rocker since birth and I can tell you, there has been nothing like The Warning in decades, if EVER! These are the three most talented sisters to ever grace the rock scene! Yes, I said it. Try any of their songs from this concert. They are one of the few bands that is even better LIVE! Try all their official music videos. Listen to ANY of their originals going back to when the oldest was only 15 and you will not find a bad song! Yes, it's a bold statement, but TRUE! More please! You've been WARNED!

Welcome to the rabbit hole. Let me say You have been Warned!! The guitarist (Dany) is the main lead singer. The drummer (Pau-sounds like Pow) sings a hand full of songs lead and trades off with Dany on some. The Bassist (Ale, short for Alejandra) cans sing lead on select songs when Dany needs a break. So all 3 can take the lead. I love me some GFM. Not sure if you know that Maggie is a solo act now as her sisters have taken on some different project. She is @OfficialMagdaleneRose on all platforms. And one other band I would like to suggest is Voice Of Baceprot (VOB) 3 ladies from Indonesia who were influenced by Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others. They will blow your mind.

The guitarist, Dany, and the drummer, Pau ("Pow"), trade off singing lead, with the guitarist doing a greater share. The bassist, Ale ("Al-eh"), seldom sings lead but it's a treat when she does. As others have said, go see them live if you can. The bass and drums are tectonic and the guitarist is a magician. With three lead singers, the harmonies are nuts. Their sound engineer, Lalo, is great, getting all of this power out to the audience. You'll notice that The Warning Army has members from around the world, which speaks to their future.

The best young rock band today (my opinion, of course), and that's not easy cause there are a lot young great rock and metal bands! The generation is secured... But unfortunately, I need to tell you that GFM have disassemble due to family fights... Too bad cause they really were awesome.

Hey Ric, new subscriber here! I really liked how you appreciated The Warning's music. I myself support them for many years now and finally saw them about two weeks ago at a private show in London. Absolutely incredible afternoon and evening! They are amazing live, if you have the chance, go see them!

The Warning is one of the best bands of this century! Love them!!!

The song is about how the media is selling you whatever info they want and you are just following like sheep. The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They live in Monterrey, Mexico and have been rocking out as a band since 2012 (when they were 12, 10, and 7 years old)! Their parents loved music and they grew up watching and listening to rock concerts. Daniela (Dany) and Paulina (Pau) attended a music initiation class when they were 5 and 3 respectively. Alejandra (Ale’) attended the same class when she was old enough. They loved it. They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. When Dany was 7 their dad bought them the Rock Band video game and they absolutely fell in love with rock music and performing on stage…. even though it was just a game. When Dany was 8 years old her dad asked her if she wanted to learn another instrument, along with piano. She chose the guitar. Pau chose the drums when she was 6, and Ale’ chose the bass at 6 (but was too small to play it until she was 7). Ale’ had been playing bass for about 1 month when they decided to play together and that was when the band was formed. Note- their parents never pushed them to do this. This project was 100% the girl’s decision. Their parents completely supported them but never pushed them. In 2014 they made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they had progressed in their playing. The video was too big to just email so their dad uploaded it onto RU-vid. It was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral! To date it has well over 24 million views and was shouted out by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous bands. The girls were caught off guard completely by the attention this video got and they had to make a decision- they quit school and started homeschooling in order to devote as much time as possible to their music. They were 100% committed to this project and have never slowed down since (practicing 2 hours a day separately and another 2 hours together daily). In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style. They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood). They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for and won many Independent Music awards in 2019. They just released (in 2022) their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing! Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing! They have opened for several great bands including Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, The Foo Fighters, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Guns n Roses, and Muse. They are now touring the world playing festivals and headlining concerts of their own. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was also asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. There is so much you should react to. Your first reaction was fun to watch. You're not alone. Everyone has that same, "holy dog doo", reaction. They just played down your way a few weeks ago and now they're on their first European tour. I'm guessing they'll be back in the States by late summer. Keep watching. They're not just a great band, their story is amazing. The world is in their grasp, but, they haven't realized it yet. I think they're starting to understand on this recent tour.
