Great hack. Just checked for any easier options on Amazon $32 Gas ONE Propane or Butane Stove GS-3400P Dual Fuel Portable. But only runs on two fuels. Peace

I'm sure you've seen them by now. All the recent Gas One mixed stoves don't use any flexible hoses and have a regulator as close to the propane source as possible.

Single burner, portable butane stoves are very popular here in the Philippines. I make a point to only purchase Korean or Japanese locally manufactured products although there may not be a whole lot of difference with "other" stoves these days. Also, I only purchase " 2 in 1" stoves that include a screw on adapter for use with a larger tank you may already own. They may cost a few hundred Pesos more but certainly save you a lot if effort to fabricate adapters. Here are a few neat facts that I hope others may be able to take advantage of: * My bottle gas delivery guy tells me the standard mix here is 70% butane/30% propane. That should be Ok for re-filling flat top camp cylinders, especially if they will be used at high mountain elevations (Baguio for example) where it can get a bit " frosty." You may also use an adapter to refill flattops with straight butane for use at lower elevations and temperatures. Ask your supplier or re-fill station what they deliver. * Many folks in the Phils hook up their portable "2 in !" stove to the 11KG (about equal to a 20 pounder in the states) and let her rip. That serves as THE household cook stove. The stove top and or the side casing usually rots away before there is any issues with the internal regulator. * All new stoves have a safety pressure relief built in. It is suggested to avoid any NOS (New Old Stock) with out this safety devise. * Standard metal propane cylinders are common but we also have the newer and much lighter weight composite techolonogy. Mine were supplied with a German made regulator that senses gas leaks and shuts off the gas flow. Very safe for use with our " 2 in 1s," if ever we have to. * Non-refillable, disposable butane canisters are available just about everywhere. Supermarkets, hardware, small appliance stores & Asian food stores along with many other shops sell both these type of stoves and gas canisters. If you shop on-line and purchase by the case (28peices) you can still purchase fuel for around $1.00 USD/per can or a tad more. * Several companies are now marketing legally refillable aluminum canisters that are supposed to be refilled with 200 grams of LPG. They work great and I only paid P80 (80 Pesos) or approx. $1.52 for each canister, full of gas at todays exchange rate. Refills were supposed to be P20, approx. .38 cents USD at todays rates. Even cheaper if you DIY. *Important note, NOT ALL brands of butane stoves will accept these new, refillable canisters. We purchased a brand new deluxe stainless steel stove made right here in the Philippines for emergencies and camping. It is built to slightly tighter tolerances than many Korean stoves and a NO GO with the refillable canisters. I have NO plan to monkey around with the stove while under warranty. TEST BEFORE purchasing a new stove to use with these refillable canisters, they are slightly longer that the disposable steel canisters.

I would like to see this hack just to extend the normal purpose cylinder style butane can away from the hot stove. It’s scary to have the cylinder close to the heat.

Inspiring. Most likely the filter is not needed because you have a regulator in front of the hose. The filter is used for those hoses where they are subjected to the full pressure of propane and the oil leak out of the hose. Since you are regulating the propane, pressure down to 200 kPa or 32 psi you should be OK.

Off the top of my head no. I chose the hoses due to the hoses end fittings. Your going to try and have to find similar ones online. The adapters are easy there are multiple ones from many sellers on Amazon. Sorry I don't have good news, supply shortages and inflation are making everything difficult.

@@charlesartificer2158 Right on. I was able to click around enough to find the correct adapters to put a rig together. This is truly clutch, I think those butane stoves are by far the best option (I keep 4 around at all times) for camping or an emergency scenario. I've tried a lot of more expensive and more 'sophisticated' options and always return to these cheap little stoves. Having the versatility to run propane (which is often far more accessible and cheaper than butane canisters) in addition to butane makes them even more invaluable. Thanks for taking the time.

@@CRUSTY09 glad to hear you could find what you need. I like this type of stove as well, but got to say the camping moon xd 1 turbo stove really impressed me. Its compact not to expensive and with adapters will run butane, isobutane and propane no problem. Did a review of it on my channel. You might want to look into it as a compact camping option if your in the market for something like that. Have a great day.

Yes. I'm from South Africa and would like to try and connect at least a 3kg bottle and we are using in those bottles LP gas.
@dorekrug

And the small canisters are like the isobutane canisters which I see I needed 1 more connecter to use it safely.
@charlesartificer2158
@charlesartificer2158 9 месяцев назад
@dorekrug without seeing the fitting on the bottle its kinda hard for me to recommend what fittings you may need. But I would imagine you need the female fitting that would allow you to attach it directly to the hose and regulator. If you have any LP gas dealers in country I would see if they could make you a custom hose. That would be the best solution. Baring that Get a propane stove, most of them have a hose that allows you to hook them up to the large bottles. Sorry I was not more helpful, Its the best I can do over the internet. I am a much better problem solver when I'm hands on. Have a great night.
