While I liked the quality of the camera….. the App was way too WONKY. I have the My-Q Hub hooked to an older Craftsman Opener. Having both the Hub / opening-closing and monitoring working “with” the Camera was very intermittent. Sometimes it saw the camera, sometimes it did not and I’d have to reinstall the App. Happened way too often, then the camera needed a “hardware” update which installed correctly…. But then it lost the camera once again. I sent it back to Amazon while the return was still applicable. Bought a cheap independent Wi-Fi camera and it’s been great ever since👍🏼

So how does the MQ subscription thing work? Do the various plans save video from all of your cameras? Or do you not have the subscription and only be able to see live images (no stored videos)? If no subscription, would you still get alerts when the camera recognizes a person or the garage door opens?
Hi there and thank you for your question. Yes the subscription gives you recorded history, they have a Basic and 7 Day that give you 7 Days of event history and a 30 Day plan, that gives you 30 days of history. Both the 7 Day and 30 Day paid plans give you, Face, Motion, Person and Open/Close event notifications and the basic plan and free plan give you, Motion and Open/Close notifications. All 3 paid plans, Basic 7 Day and 30 Day give you event recording but the free plan does not. I have really enjoyed using this device, it's performed flawlessly and I get about 90 days of battery life before I swap the battery out.
Hi and thank you for your question. Yes the alert includes a clip of what was detected. You can also go back into the app and review the history, depending on the subscription you choose.
Thanks for the video. I see you never demo’d the night vision. Probably because it is useless. With a range of 3-4 feet you see absolutely nothing with the door closed unless the lights in the garage are turned on. Although the audio works. I was online with Chamberlain for a half hour doing factory resets etc to try to get the night vision working and I stumbled on the distance issue by holding the camera in my hand next to a wall sign in my garage. Fortunately I have a smart switch connected to my Samsung SmartThings hub which I can turn on to see inside the garage when I am away at my vacation home. But given the state of the art for these products today this is a big fail for Chamberlain as far as I am concerned. So long story short don’t waste your money buying their video subscription service cause you’ll record nothing unless you leave your garage lights on.

I agree the night vision has much to be desired, but that wasn't my main priority as I have a Nest camera in the garage that sits back much further and gets much more of the garage. I primarily got it to work with the myQ Video keypad and Amazon in garage delivery service, so between it, the video keypad, and the interior door lock, I know I'm covered to make sure my inside door is locked and I am capturing all the activity, even if my nest were to be offline for some reason.
The music is so distracting. Video would be better without. Subscription fees for being able to retrieve video? Where is video stored?1 I have MyQ but may get rid of it if I can't get it to work with google home.
Thank you for your comment and I'll definitely pay more attention to the music volume. There is no local video storage, you have to have a subscription for recording storage. You can view the live stream without a subscription. Also MyQ doesn't integrate with Google Home Alexa or Apple Home kit. There are a few other services that they directly integrate with but not many.
Hi there and thank you for your comment and for watching. The subscription is definitely something that is going to be different for everyone as to it's value. Personally for myself I want the ability to be able to go back and pull video if I need to, which I actually did not long ago when someone broke into my car at 2:30 in the morning. And if you have one of the higher plans then you can have multiple myQ camera's and they are all included and you don't pay extra. I now have 3 myQ camera's that I can go back and pull video from.
