Thank you for this video, because like you mention on the video there are so many nail drill bits out there that it's impossible to know them all... even if you are not a beginner!! This video should be watched by anyone who is learning about nail care or needs a refresh course on nail drill bits. =)

I just ordered a carbide flame bit in coarse for product removal mainly encapsulated glitter as I've found my carbide cone in medium to actually work way better than the ceramic flame in coarse that I bought special just for this type of product removal. I'm not sure why but the metal seems to work way better than ceramic yet I thought it would be the other way around. The ceramic it seems is just like u said, softer, yet it doesn't heat up as much just like u said even the coarse is softer than a medium carbide. Thanks Anastasia for this video☺

Hi, I am only intending to work on myself and at home. Main use is to remove gel from natural nails, nail file and buffing for natural nail health. Does it need to be powerful? I am looking at a basic nail drill that goes up to 20000RPM, will this do? Thank you for the videos. Thanks, Jade

So I got a set from Germany from the good old trusty Amazon that wasn't expensive at all compared to the one drill bit I got in store which was 8,5 euros for one single drill bit. The Chinese ones I can agree. I got a set that you showed and it's already dull plus they're not good for all things. They're good for removing thin layers at a time. But if I have to use my rechargeable e-file to remove soft gel tips, I'm faster at using a nail file instead because these take ages to remove product. Also to put my knowledge to use. The reason ceramic bits are better for the nail and better in general is because ceramic as a material has really good properties/qualities. For context I'm a design student and I had to learn all about the materials used in the design field. Anyways. Ceramic is often times used in car engines or for gears in general as it doesn't need to be lubricated with motor oil. Because of the smooth surface it can move around and slide around easily without assistance. Ceramic is also durable and maintains it's shape through time as in it doesn't get dull as quickly. The only downside to ceramic is that it doesn't take impact very well. It shatters if it sustains a hard blow such as dropping a ceramic knife or applying to much pressure (ie force) on it for too long too suddently. So with all being said you can understand why ceramic bits don't burn on the nail (as they don't cause that much friction) and are durable in time so they shouldn't get dull as quickly as cheap metal or diamond bits.
