Fingers crossed mine arrives Thursday morning, and the big brother Goblin Saturday morning. Thanks for posting this guys, seems not many folks are getting in on the FPV plane fun, and personally I think it’s better than quads. Next on my hit list is a nice HD camera to put on my rarebear. Kindest regards Dean Wales, UK
Add a 3 position switch for 3 different levels of positive reflex. I have been flying my nano goblin for about a month now, and with the extra positive reflex you can fly so slow it's amazing. I went with the runcam micro swift2, and paired it with the runcam vtx200 with a U.F.L. extension to an Axxi stubby antenna mounted between the camera and the battery bay lid. Such a fun plane to fly. -Jamie :-)
My flying mate and I had a head on collision with two Nano Skyhunters. Wan't much left. I can still see his plane in my head about 2 feet in front of me and then snow. LOL Couldn't do it again if we had tried. ;)
Can you guys make a PC9 speed build kit as a advanced trainer , acro plane, I think it would go great with your warbird series. And love all your vids guys especially the full scale aviation stuff you did recently
What long range setup is TJ using on the stix nano goblin? It would be great to see a video on how to setup a long range receiver like the tbs crossfire micro RX in this wing and keep it light as possible.
One thing I keep seeing and I can't help but notice in most of the FPV videos you guys have been posting as of late is the muddy contrast in your cameras. That would drive me nuts. I'd say that TJ's camera isn't TOO bad this time in this video.
I'm highly interested in this thing. But, can you do a basic breakdown of the control system (and maneuvers) with this model and particular. Maybe a build video on integration of the VTX and camera?
Hey Darrel, we added a VTX/camera combo. This one in particular: store.flitetest.com/dipole-fx805-micro-fpv-camera-5-8ghz-37ch-25mw-vtx-with-mounting-case/

Does the split mini in your Nano Goblin have trouble with overheating? I just put the Split Mini 2 in mine, gets very warm but hasn't failed. But winter temps.
Can you make a build video about the best fpv starter gear for airplanes? Would really like to have a Fpv plane but I don’t know what I need and I dont want to pay much money. Would be awesome if you could do that!
Hey guys! Love to know what sim you’d recommend for fpv wing practice - for sure helped me learn my quad, this will be my first wing, and I’m pretty sure it won’t be exactly the same! ;-)
I fly mine with a 3s lipo running a 4.1x4.1 or a 5x3 both apc. The 5x3 draws less than 9 amps at full throttle. I am using a T-Motor f20ii 3750kv. I think it is better than the cobra, I burnt the winding with the apc 5x3 on 3s.
Great episode. Now get 4 or more of you to do pylon racing with them keeping track of the number of laps with everyone flying at the same time for 10 to 15 minutes.
So, am I understanding correctly... Plane is 139 and the battery that lasts 45 minutes is only another $18 or so? I can add my spectrum gear and I'm flying? Can you guys link the camera you used? Would be nice if they had an add on for it. Not sure how it mounted or what you used.
Much more than an hour if you are careful with the throttle. I have done 92 minutes on mine and am still able to use that battery after taking it down to 5v.
We sort of did a video on this pretty recently. It's a "holiday guide" but it's targeted a the newbs! ❤️ www.flitetest.com/articles/2017-holiday-gift-guide
It actually seems much more stable you have light wing loading and can fly at much slower speeds. The big Goblin you really have to carry your momentum for it to fly as designed.
Conner, yes if it is the same size and weight but why buy 3 or 4 lipos to fly for one hour when you can buy just one of the Strix batteries for $18 and fly for an hour? I bought two Strix batteries and can fly for two hours for $36. :)
Nice FPV planes, but those horrible CMOS cameras with so much lens distortion don't do them justice. Micro CCD cameras are so much better. The only nano CMOS camera I've seen so far that doesn't have awful lens distortion is the one on the Jumper X68T and X68S micro quadcopters, whatever camera+lens that may be. Just compare the size of objects in view when panning.
yeah but lipo is a specific kind that is twice the weight of regular li-ion, for the same capacity. Dead weight that isn't needed makes for short flight times, is the problem with lipo.
Digital Wolf FPV of course you can, provided you go with something similar in weight and size so that your CG is right. Planks are very very picky about CG, it needs to be pretty much spot on. I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not 100% on whether it can carry the extra weight of a flight controller, OSD, and micro Swift.
average Rc plane is like 40" wingspan and 600g+ weight. Anything under 30" is legitimately tiny. 250 grams is featherlight. Anything flown outdoors that small is tiny. So, I do not get your point! Your's isnt tiny, it isn't micro, it is nano - and that is cool too!
sloth_76 But then tech today is so good Im sure there is a way to get smooth HD heck 4k even fpv with no noise or static none just has the guts to do it yet
