"I've lost" is not just Sasuke saying it. It might be the first time any of his previous incarnations acknowledged their loss.

Sasuke showing actual happy tears is one of the rarest sight.

For the whole series you always heard about how Naruto felt towards Sasuke, but never about how Sasuke felt towards Naruto. With this episode you finally gained insight into Sasuke's perspective, which is why I always thought this episode was great.

my favorite part of hearing Sasuke’s perspective is the fact that he looks up to Naruto the same way he looked up to Itachi.

Thing is Sasuke was on the way to redemption before their fight,people don't realize this,amidst all the hype for a final battle. Him talking to Itachi,and the Hokage was the start of his journey back. It was all about the hate that was pumped into Sasuke that needed to be dispelled once and for all. Sasuke had lost his will to live. That's part of what he had to regain again. A purpose beyond just being an avenger. I'm glad Naruto realized better than some of his fans,what this fight was truly about. Also Sasuke talked no jutsu Orochimaru in a way.:)

Fun Fact: While the childhood arc (ep 480-483) are pseudo-canon, the episodes after that are NOT filler. They are anime adaptations of CANON light novels.

The director and storyboard artist of the this episode was Toshiyuki Tsuru. Also the episode was animated by two people, Toshiyuki Tsuru himself and Hiroto Tanaka. Btw Tsuru animated was so good that people thought it had be CGI

a very emotional episode, and a great use of flashbacks throughout. Seeing Sasuke's perspective and how he thought of Team 7 as his new family hit hard. The director of this episode was Toshiyuki Tsuru who was also the director/storyboarder for episode 19 the end of the land of waves arc with Zabuza and Haku. As well as episode 48 Gaara vs Rock Lee and even though it looks like it, there is no CG in this episode. The amount of detail in this episode was crazy!! And a lot of feels! 😢

Sasuke is the Leaf villages shadow, a protector, a one man secret police force if you will.

This episode RECKT ME. I tell the second I heard and read the words _Naruto I always knew you were Alone_ I started *cRYING* Because I immediately recognized the call back to the Part 1 Sasu vs Narut fight when Naruto had his inner monologue explaining how HE felt about Sasuke and _now_ we're going to finally FINALLY hear Sasukes side of the story, his honest heartfelt thoughts and feelings straight from him out in the open about Naruto and hiw much he loved him. That had NEVER happened before and I (and probably every other fan) never saw that coming. The more he spoke the more of a mess I was, I was so happy and emotional. I had to pause several times bc damn it confirmed every hope and thought I had about him and hes relationship with Naruto after everything. That kind of confirmation hits different. But also expressive, emotional and openly vulnerable _Sasuke_ ?!?! A Blessing!

That itachi scene wasnt in the manga, so its not why sasuke changed his mind. It's moreso i guess that sasuke understood naruto's pain, realized naruto wouldnt give up, and refusing the pain of solitude.

This is straight up the best Naruto episode by far, at least for me.

You remember in the original series, Kakashi had to tie him up to talk to him and from then on, every time someone wanted to speak to him, people said he wouldn't be willing to listen. It took getting his arm blown off to literally say "Okay okay, damn... I'm listening" lol

One of my fave episodes. I like the symbolic ending with Naruto and Sasuke on top the hands making the Unison Sign. Never woulda thought Sasuke was the one who's jealous of Naruto the whole time and he was always on top of everything. I loved that Sasuke finally acknowledged him and he cried realizing he's got a best friend and brother in Naruto. Naruto really is a best friend to have, and a brother. It was shocking both of them lost an arm joining blood. It's really beautiful to see Naruto has everyone beside him even Zabuza and Haku are there. They finally get it. After hearing them repeatedly say "leave him, Sasuke is toxic. What a toxic relationship", it is true that from the perspective of people that only stay with what only makes them feel good and drop things once there is some struggle, Sasuke is a Toxic personality. However, the whole point of Naruto is to demonstrate what it takes to bring someone back to the side of understanding. Sure... There is abuse and hate and toxicity, but only a real friend will fight nail to the teeth to bring you back from the wrong side. And Chris saying "I could never be that kind of a friend" is also what makes this story so great... it shows us what we lack to be better.

Just watched this episode and I kept yelling, "Just say it! Just tell him you love him 😭😭😭!"

Sasuke did play a good rival/villain. But this is the most sad emotions Sasuke had shown.

The Sasuke slander kills me. Hes probably the most realistic character in the series. Sasuke motivations have made sense from day 1. The fandom likes to just call him an edge lord when hes easily the most complex and interesting in the show. His character and view point were just a little to raw for a Shounen. The entire point of Naru-Sas relationship is yin and yang. Two sides of the same coin. It will never work if naruto "beats his ass". Its them realize that cooperation is the only real road to stability. And obviously that shit ain't work coz wtf would we have Boruto for.

I remember back in 2014, Naruto's design for the last was shown and people were wondering why Naruto was wearing bandages on his arm, then the chapter of the manga came out that same year and I was like wow

Those episodes are not filler please do consider watching them. They give a nice closure to the series with some really nice moments with different characters.

Ah! Finally, inner peace! Now waiting for the episode with the most emotional question in the whole Naruto series!!

Make sure to watch the next episode, the light novel canon episodes, The Last, the Special where Naruto becomes Hokage, and the Boruto movie (just to get a sense of the overarching plot).

If sasuke was a female character this could have been one of the best romance anime of all time, sadly Hinata is there and they weren’t into each other after the first kiss.

They should definitely watch these next few episodes. They’re great for understanding more of the depth in certain characters and the actual feel of them involves some of the most artistic direction in the entire series. Even though they’re filler episodes, they were made with Kishi closely in discussions with the animators and staff, so they could be considered anime cannon.

I think the role Sasuke takes on is more akin to what Jiraiya did for the 3rd and Tsunade than what Danzo did with the Foundation

Its kinda sad how Naruto gets the least amount of love in his own show. Except the Pain Arc, I havent seen a single arc in which people talked about him. The last 3 episodes all the comments have been about Sasuke only. Dont worry Naruto, You are my favorite character in the show even if you are not a very complex character 😊

Man I’m so glad ya’ll made it to this point, I genially loved this episode but something you guys might not know is that the manga and the Japanese dub say something different than the English dub when sauke says to naruto to transplant his eyes after he is dead at 12:28. The original line actually said that sauske was going to end his own life, but the dub changed it to if he died, maybe due to the issue with mouth synch or probably some other reason, who’s to know. But still so glad you all kept with naruto for this long and enjoyed the ride!

Naruto & sasuke - so it’s established Naruto & sasuke are brothers and they connect through many different ways. Their story is about to people who end up at some point alone. Who both deal with similar pain. In the leaf village Naruto was hated and treated like an outcast because of the nine tailed fox. Sasuke was treated like an outcast in the village because he was an uchiha. Naruto understood that pain during the first time they fought at the final valley. But there was one extra pain that Naruto didn’t have, the lost of family. Naruto and sasuke fights weren’t really on who was stronger. In truth they’re nearly tied, but Naruto is just a little bit stronger. The fights were about symbolizing their disagreements and their emotions. Their first fight at the final valley was about Naruto understanding to get revenge for your family. Later the writers put Naruto in the same situation as sasuke was in we he was kid. Your family being slaughtered and wanting to avenge them. They created Pain who was part of the uzamaki clan, a blood relative of Naruto, who destroyed the leaf village which is Naruto’s family. Sasuke family was destroyed by itachi who is also a blood relative of sasuke. This situation with Naruto and pain was to symbolize the pain of your family being destroyed and wanting to avenge them. That’s why the writers didn’t emphasize that nagato was a blood relative of Naruto like itachi was for sasuke. It had less to do about betrayal and more to do with wanting to get revenge for that pain. Instead of asking for help and not being alone, sasuke choose to get revenge. That’s because every uchiha clan member is taught to do everything on their own. Naruto was taught by the village as an orphan, to ask for help and to not do everything on his own. So he didn’t revenge like sasuke. At this point Naruto fully understood sasuke pain. Because he choose differently who could appeal to sasuke mind when no one else could. Naruto’s uzamaki family has the physical power in their body that ties them to love. Sasuke’s uchiha family has the mental power in their mind that leads them to think they have all the power and leads to negative emotions, like hatred. Love breaks through hatred. The physical power that Naruto was born with plus the nine tails fox chakra allows Naruto to live on beyond the average lifespan of human, and the eternal resolve that Naruto all symbolizes eternal love that pierced through sasukes hatred that sasuke has. Sasuke is book smart, straight and narrow and sees one path. Naruto is creative smart, thinks outside the box and goes in multiple directions. This symbolizes and their powers and their persona. Sasuke uchiha family were seen as royalty because of how skilled they were. They train to do things on their own, straight and narrow like the chidori. Sasukes always aimed higher that’s what his wings resembled in the his curse mark form. But later him having wings in his sussanoo form resembled a judge, jury and a executioner. Like a god of destruction who would bring down the lightning to anyone who stands against him. Someone who sees the world as broken and can only be better through his own. Only through his vision( that’s what his visual power symbolizes). Naruto was a poor orphan who learned the bounds family through the leaf village, taught to ask for help, taught to see multiple paths, just like his rasengan going in multiple directions. Naruto always felt tied to the earth, that’s what his sage form symbolized and later his nine tale chakra form symbolizes the same thing. Except it also shows how wise he is and how he wants to here everyone’s voice. Like god of peace and warmth. Sasuke, alone, the avenger, the criminal, the dictator Naruto, Alonzo, the hero, sage, the man of the people Two brothers, two sides of the same coin, and that’s why only Naruto get through to sasuke.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
