the whole war arc and kaguya stuff dampens the ending (and the series itself) by a LOT tbh. Like, it's surprising how much of a quality downgrade that whole section is compared to anything that came before or the Naruto vs Sasuke fight

@ Liz he does care, but he deals with it on a different way than Naruto. while Naruto's way is for him to be acknowledge as that would mean people cared for him, meanwhile Sasuke does it through hunting down Itachi as he is afraid of losing someone again as long as Itachi is alive but it changed into a mission of destroying the village when he realized that he lost everyone including his brother because of Konoha. Also just want to point out that ever since the death of his clan, Sasuke has been reclusive and doesn't openly show his emotions and inner thoughts to a point that he oftentimes doesn't even acknowledge his own emotions, you can see this behaviour before he left Konoha. But he unconsciously/ indirectly showed this fear of losing his friends as shown like during the final fight with Zabuza and Haku when he protected Naruto or when Naruto was threatened by the Itachi and Kisame's arrival albiet the biggest reason was his drive for revenge. Anyways, he only came to terms with himself when Naruto made him acknowledge his own emotions through that final battle in Shippuden where it was probably the first time he wholeheartedly apologized to anyone, like ever, in the entire anime.
