NASCAR Heat Evolution In 2023 Is...GOOD? 

I think 21 ignition has made a lot of people look back and the previously "bad" nascar games in a better light

The reason heat evolution was bad was because we were comparing it to nascar 15, now we are comparing it to 21 ignition...

The biggest thing that confused me about this game was that DMR acquired the rights and engine that Nascar 15 used, developed a 2016 season skin pack that had half the field in it, and then didnt bother making anything in that game engine ever again. The biggest issue with all 5 games in the Heat Series was the handling of the car and the Eutechnyx games had that down already more or less and that just needed AI and features and absolutely could have been built off of

Is it bad that I have nostalgia for heat evolution? It was the first game I played since I got back into nascar and was the first game I was decent at. The game’s still objectively bad, but there’s a vibe to it that I enjoy looking back on.

I honestly had a lot of fun with NHE. I grew up playing nascar ‘03 and such with my sister on controller but I had a wheel for this one and actually remember having lots of fun with it as it was the first game i used a wheel with. I’ll probably never go back to it cause i think it would not ruin it but put the experience i had onto it into perspective

It was disappointing, but definitely not the worst. Expectations were a lot higher with Monster Games coming back, but what we got was almost like the early access builds leading up to Heat 4. I remember it being significantly less buggy than 2011 or 2014, except for cautions almost never coming out. Some good ideas and a decent stepping stone to better games, which was more than I could say for the late EA and most of the Eutechnyx era. Time has been kind to this one. What was unacceptable in 2016 is kind of endearing when you can catch this game on a sale for $2.

Nascar Dirt to Daytona was and will always be one of my fav nascar games. it was good for its time. and i still have it and the ps2 when it first came out.

I unlocked everything in this game when I 1st played the game and it was my only nascar game for 4 year till I got nascar heat 4 and 5 in 2020

I think a lot of it has to do with expectations, everyone was so Hyped for the game and there was a lot of buzz aroused it and then when it came out and it wasn't what everyone thought, then it was a big disappointment . But you went into this video with the lowest possible expectations and you actually enjoyed it

So plate racing on Heat Evolution in 3 lap races are good. But in career mode with 25% length races the cars spread out at Daytona and Talladega and were not in packs

Come on, installing the game on a modern PC, runnning above 60 fps and cranking the graphics to the maximum will make anything better. Now try getting the console versions like most people played at release, with terrible optimization, fps dropping below 30 trying to control the twitchy physics and horrible anti aliasing making the game look like a ps2 era game, that was the true Heat Evolution Experience.

I play it cause , I liked the SS, Fusion and that Toyota Camry nose.

Heat Evolution was a rocky start, but Monster Games got to work and improved on it majorly over time. Credit where credit's due, H4 and 5 are honestly the best NASCAR specific games in recent years. It's like if Motorsport Games went through character development.

I was 12 when this game camr out, i had fun playing this game, but i didnt realize that the game had some things missing from nascar games from the past. I had fun with the heat series, i have the most fun with heat 4 and heat 5 (I might have more fun with heat 5 if i get my hands on the mod for pc). To me, the heat gamrs arent that bad, and it definitely seems like the aged decently. I definitely would be opeb to having monster games as one of the developers for nascar games now to see how much they have improved from the heat series

My big thing with Heat Evolution was the way the car just never had grip and any track which was unrealistic. Especially Dover like you said and the other big one was Bristol that did it the worst

I think 21 Ignition is way worse, I could not even load up a race on the 2021 game. This game was at least playable.

I agree with all these newer Nascar games that none of them are very realistic in doing races. I have just a couple of the Nascar Heat games on STEAM just to try out and they are not even close to what Nascar 2003 did back in the 1990's or doing IRacing online. The only thing the newer games have for them is maybe the graphics are better. Also one thing I see in all these Nascar reviews, nobody seems to do the Cockpit view. If you race Nascar on IRacing, that is all you can do is race in cockpit view and they give you mirrors and everything necessary to do the racing. More realistic, of course we are racing against real drivers, not AI cars. I will be waiting for the new Nascar PC console game to come out in 2025 developed by IRacing and another group. This new game should be closer to what Nascar 2003 did before IRacing came along. Anyway, take care.

This game got me back into racing games ngl 💀💀 not saying its good but it was a tolerable experience and the racing fan in me couldn't resist. I got 1-4 of the Heat series before switching to iRacing

I paid 60 bucks for this game. Got scammed. They spent nearly the entire budget on marketing and released the same game they bought from the original designer with some new skins.

08 is my favorite cause it was my first ever video game. I loved it so much that when i got a ps3 i bought it on there and it was terribly different from ps2. Sorry had to defend 08 lol. Ps2 edition was way better then ps3 version

I mean you played ignition my good sir...so no this is not the worst race game ever lol granted I knew about all the issues but I picked up ignition for $7.50 on sale and knew the issues and I still feel ripped off haha

It's not worst game. It's just the most forgettable game because it was kind of boring after you played it once or twice. Future games had dirt series, truck, Xfinity and cup series.
