Update! If you have issues with the game looking jagged or AA not working after following my video, try uninstalling reshade and removing d3d8.dll file and that should fix the issue. Also, it's in the description but if the cars are black after following, on the bottom right of the graphics options in the game, turn of shadows from objects and cars.

when i take the d3d8.dll file out it causes my fps to drop is there another file i can get to get my fps back up?

@@jenningsgaming4853 Try to add it back and see if the jagged edges reappear. It could be just reshade that causes this issue and not that file

@@jenningsgaming4853 k, what that file does is runs the game in a newer version of directx which is why it runs better then without it. If your frames are still bad, try lowering the settings in the nvidia control panel and see if that improves it

Thanks a ton. It took some time to make sure I was doing this right. I believe it worked. Only thing I can't do is open my Nvidia control panel. But it has been doing that for a while now and not sure how to fix it. Just getting back on NR2003 and WOW have things changed. Why I have spent many dollars on Iracing is beyond me. Your videos are the best out there. Next thing to try and get online and do some practice sessions. Thanks again BenCrazy.

Before the race, I followed your how to install NR2003, got it working. OK, after watching the Southern 500 tonight, I hopped back on and followed this video to give the graphics a bump; again, it all worked great! Funny thing, I go to try my first laps in practice, hit Esc to edit some sounds, pop back and realize, my keyboard HAS NO PAUSE BUTTON, LOL. I can't do anything but alt F4. Guess I need to go dig up an old one! Edit: Or I could just hit the end button in conjunction with a little key they call the FUNCTION key FN 🤣🤣🙄 My first time touching that one!!

Ok, so if you're running an nvidia card (might be the same for amd) every time you update your graphics card driver, the game will re-do the 3d graphics configuration. So you'll have to edit your ini files every time you update your graphics drivers. 6:56

Just for the record... Wild Kustoms adds NO extra 3do files to the shared folder when building tracks. I do however add them to the track folder where they should be when I am building a track. The default shared folder will work with ALL of my tracks.

Hello, I am having a issue on infineon in the S turns where black lines appear and disappear over the track, almost looks like tire marks but vertical and above the ground. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Edit:It's happening at Watkins Glen as well. Could it be because I installed the 2010-2011 highrez combo but I'm using the vanilla tracks that came with the game?

Hey I’ve been having an issue when downloading mods: I downloaded probably 30-40 tracks but now when I try to do a race is says “couldn’t load track” and then “ending the weekend” anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks man game looks great now. One quick question though. My computer is running the game around 100-120 fps during a race but it definitely does not look as smooth as it does in the video. Your video looks like a true 60fps game, is that a difference in our graphics cards?

I believe I used a post processing effect to add motion blur to the video that gives it that smooth look. Its called RSMB. Unfortunately for adding blur to the game itself, i do not know of a current solution, never could get reshade to do blur correctly

I have a reshade graphic with text at the top of my game and I can't seem tog et rid of it. It's welcoming me to reshade and is telling to go to some site or hit 'home' to start tutorial. I have no idea how to get rid of it.

Hi Ben, Do you see shadows from cars when looking in your rear view mirror after changing car megashader and shadowvolumes to 1 when running under direct3D while in cockpit view? I really enjoy your channel and have learned much from you. Thank you.

@WarLockedYT It depends on the GPU more than the CPU. Doesn't hurt to try it and if it tanks your fps, use the HD version instead

one issue i had. the cars are really dark. like more then the shading usual. it looks like someone put a blanket over the car. anyway on how i can fix this?

So when I ran the 4GB Patch, I didn't get the NR2003Orig file, instead I got a backup file for the patch program. Do you have any idea what I do with it?

I forgot to mention this but every time i open nr2003 ReShade has some sort of menu that pops up and it says to continue press home. How can I fix that?

Are the core.ini changes in that downloaded file for multiplayer different than the changes in this video? For example, should you download the multiplayer tweaked one, and then make these changes?

for some reason after making these adjustments I have no sound in game when running in 1440. Running in 4K there is sound but I can't run some of the newer tracks at that resolution.

Honestly I don't use any of the settings in reshade. Just showed as another way to add filters and make the game look good.

I believe it was the 2005 cup car mod and a new Charlotte track. I don't remember where i got it or if the site is still alive so its best to google to find the mods

I followed all the steps, and everything looks and works fine. Except for one thing. Now all my tracks have no grandstands. So all my races have the track and everything within, but no crowds or any structure of any type outside the tracks. My PC is more then strong enough to handle this game as it can handle every game on the market currently. Last time I modded this game up, a few years ago on my older PC, I never encountered this problem.

Follow up: I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled everything. Everything works perfectly fine this time. However, I didn't do the Nvidia specific changes this time. Not sure if that was the problem, but all the grandstands and whatnot are back so the races look as they should.

@@GamingWithGeo During my first time going to the in-game graphics tab, there is an option that says "Trackside Objects." You may have put it to "some" as the only options are "off", "some" and "all".

Great tutorial. I am having some issues with the 4g and reshade. Games loads ok but when i go to opponent manager in game, it freezes up. uninstall both reshade and 4g solves the issue. After reading thru comments here, I will experiment with 4g running as admin and possibly changing compatibility mode from XP pak3 to win 7. question ... if i put D3D9.dll file in root directory in NR2003, I wonder if it will work on its own? worth a try I suppose Also I noticed the version of reshade I got was a newer version and it forces certain settings to be applied. I am going to experiment with an older version of reshade which is more similar to the one used here. The upside to all of this is I have a 2nd copy of NR2003 which is working fine. So when all else fails, I can stick with it.

It seems like something isn't right with my ReShade stuff. Whenever I have the d3d8 and d9 in the folder it crashes nr2003. If I take the d3d8 out, ReShade doesn't work but the game runs. Obviously I want ReShade to work for the FPS and graphic improvements, any help?

idk if anyone figured this out, but cars seem to only be black at a couple tracks, try other tracks. Turn shadow detail to low, then back high again. worked for me

Hi, I just started racing NR2003 again after at least 4 or 5 years! My question is,, If I follow this and download as this video shows will it enhance ALL of NR2003 original content, or does this only work for the newest most updated tracks? I want to do this but don’t want to screw up my sim? Thanks and great video!

It improves it for all the content. If you're worried about your original install, you can install another nr2003 on a different folder to test on

I only use smaa, but don't be afraid to try out different effects. If you Google them, it should give you an idea of what they do and whether or not it's something you want to use.

When I open the game, a Reshade bar shows up with a tutorial link. How do I remove it? Edit: press home button to hidesabr. Now my trucks for my NCTS09 mod don't show up in player info or opponent manager.
