Boy did this warm the cockles of this old heart. I grew up in a home full of genres. My dad still playing swing and ragtime piano tunes. Mom had every crooner album , My older bro. going from folk into jazz, blues, rock. Even classical for relaxation late night. The mid fifties thru the early seventies had such a mix of masterful music. Even singing nuns, flying ones for that matter. Nat was played often and loud, he had more hits than i could type. Putri just brought this beauty into this century. What a cover or taking over a song this is. Older theaters had orchestra pits, perhaps they are back? Good show man of swing.🤠.Mob boss hat and cigar not needed.
@@jeffkerr4861 I knew you were a comrade! I came also from a very musical family. My dad’s side mainly played bluegrass but they tended to do covers of jazz tunes. My father passed down his love of eclectic music to me! My moms family was more into classical music including jazz and pop from the 20-40’s My mother played classical piano which sh was taught by her mother My grandmother started teaching piano in the 20s. The piano she taught on in the 50’s until she got too sick over 70 years later. In fact that piano was still in the Fay with my niece until just a few months ago. I wanted to take it when she offered because of its history but sadly I didn’t. It was taken and dumped, All the members of my family played something musical but no one took it as far as I did. Before she died she was playing an autoharp which I have now. My father was playing music with her until he died in the 90’s. He was playing a picked dulcimer which I also have now. Thanks for listening.
Even though he's before my time, he's an all time favorite of mine. No one had his style and voice. It's always enjoyable listening to Putri's beautiful voice. This was a nice, modern version.
That was just ……just. The whole time I’m listening to Nat sing the only thing that kept thinking of was “smooth“ just flows that way.Putri version caught me offguard at first, probably just because of listening to Nat singing it. she did a awesome job. Thanks for good tunes on the way home. Take care.🙏🙏🙏
bro 😊 we all in Indonesia shock that Putri Ariani haved studied in Law University in UGM Yogyakarta in the middle of Java Indonesia 🎉 she want become Lawyer to help & protect all case the disability in the world ❤ how about her music carrier 😢😢😢 ok wait, see & pray for Putri Ariani ❤❤❤
What can I say, Nat was amazing ! The man was just so smooth and in control ! Putri Ariani’s version was good also , but you probably know me , I wish there was a little less visuals going on and concentrating more on the music ! In Nat’s version as I listened to the trumpet & piano I felt like I was setting in Maison Bourbon on Bourbon Street listening to an amazing set ! 🎤🎸🎼

Ever had a 78RPM recording of this? My mom did and we cleaned house to this!! Practiced scat and dusting!! And Putri did not get to show this side of her on AGT. She would have had more support! Cool pairing!
@@Anothercoverlover62 33 1/3!! I have those new things too. No more 8 track, or cassette though. No more buying a Stones cassette at a gas station on Interstate 10 in 1972 and riding a few miles down the road to really crank it up and listen, just to find it didn't work!! Ah...memories! Music is a powerful force!
