WARNING: at 1:37 for a moment there is some audio I accidentally left in from Rotting Christ's video. It's incredibly loud! My bad! :p If you want to know what I said about Avantasia's new album, I basically said it was good but not their best and fans of their recent output should enjoy this one too.

I seriously thought something had started playing in the background when that piece of audio assaulted my ears haha. I thought the general sound in this video was quieter than other vids, so I had to play it on the computer instead of my phone, though that makes for a nice change! There were also some audio artefacts in the first half of the video at every cut. Just thought I'd mention those, no biggie, it happens. I'm now going to check out Norvhar, thanks for the find! Good call putting links in the description too, especially bandcamp ones when they're available.

@@yannattack5971 what happened was that somehow the audio from the Rotting Christ video clip remained in the video unmuted (entirely my fault for not thoroughly checking the video when I'd finished editing!). The blips of sound appear whenever I cut the video because that Rotti g Christ audio is still there underneath and breaks though for a split second at each edit. I can only apologise! Haha I have an amended version ready to upload. Do you think it would be worth reuploading this video even though it means I will lose the view from it? I hope you enjoy Norvhar as much as I did! I am still listening to it on repeat :p

@@thegothicviking1388 Thanks for the insight, it shows how easy mistakes can be made when making RU-vid videos haha. Honestly not a biggie for this kind of video. I'm not sure of it's worth reuploading the video now, looking at your other Na(t)cho video you've pretty much got the same number of views already, so it depends how many more you are expecting. I've only listened to it once, it didn't really grab me unfortunately, I may try again later but I've been suffering from hearing problems so I'm trying to keep it to a minimum at the moment (you can imagine how hard it is). Despite the sound issues the content is always good and you always crack me up with the little things that happen in your videos (your reaction to the vinyl randomly falling in the background 😂). Keep it up!

@@yannattack5971 thanks dude your co tuned support is humbling :) I'm glad I make you laugh occasionally! I'd love to be more funny more often but it just seems so forced a lot of the time, so I like to keep it natural :p Come to think of it, I dont think I was as in love with the Norvhar record on my first listen as I am now after several play throughs. You know when I said it has a cosy sort of feeling? I think the more familiar you become with this release, the more enjoyabkenit becomes. Sorry to hear about your hearing issues (pun not intended!). That is my biggest fear. Maybe I ought to start wearing earplugs to gigs and band practices before it's too late

@@thegothicviking1388 You're welcome! It's true that some records do reveal themselves after a couple or more listens so I'll definitely give it another go! Yeah having hearing issues sucks. I'd only been using earplugs at gigs recently when it started happening too, but I'm olde now so probably paying the price of years of gigs without using them. It's definitely worth thinking about now I'd say. It feels weird during gigs as you feel that you're not getting the "full" sound experience, but speaking personally I've realised that you can hear the actual music better with the earplugs on as they block out a lot of the distortion and "big sound" covering the music in venues.

I got very heavy Meatloaf vibes from Moonglow, and it definitely grew on me the more I listened to it! I think mostly this year I'm looking forward to new Grand Magus and Fleshgod Apocalypse more than anything!

Great video! I hope you and your wife are well! I am not a fan of the term "post-metal" neither (I say neither because my mind thought you're referring to people who dislike it). Sometimes it's sludge/doom, other times it's atmospheric black. Sinistro count as post-metal. Have fun at Bloodstock. Cheers!

It's certainly an ambiguous term but I think I have come to know what to expect when I herar the term post-metal. If its referring to atmospheric black, then it's usually post-black, and even then, there are differences between the 2. I know a lot of people dislike pigeon holding bands into genres and labels, but I find it fascinating to almost 'study'these finer details and learn what sets bands apart from one another :) I personally just refer to Sinistro as doom, but I can definitely accept that their sound is more than just that. I would agree theres some post metal in there too. My wife and I are doing great and thanks for watching and your support :)

@@thegothicviking1388 This is what I commented earlier on my friend's video regarding the subgenre topic: "I think the genres thing is very important. A lot of ignorant people think it's all about labeling, but that couldn't be further than the truth. Subgenres mark the development and history of the metal genre. And, they describe a set of riffs and style that have emerged from each development. This is how I remember them, and hopefully it'll make it easier for others, too. -Extreme metal (black/death/thrash, this includes melodic death) -Heavy/power/progressive -Viking/folk/pagan (mind you, Viking metal is rooted in black metal, whereas folk is rooted in thrash) -Doom/sludge/doom-death/gothic/symphonic And then there is what I call "metal adjacent" which includes metalcore, nu metal, glam/hair metal, industrial rock, hard/classic rock, and things that the media mistakenly mislabeles as metal. Meaning, it's not metal, but they can be gateway genres for people into the metal genre. Two other genres that are adjacent to death metal are grindcore and deathcore." So, it's really not a matter of being pigeonholed, it's a matter of history, riffs, and pioneers. I refer to Sinistro as doom metal, also. Their riffs lean more toward doom-death somewhat, so I agree they've got a diverse influence. And, I'm glad you two are well. I love your channel very much, and you two are very awesome to watch. :) 'Always happy to support Cheers.
