Great analysis! I noticed that there seemed to be more hands with pairs this year, and your analysis confirmed it. Of course, flowers are always "hot" and a challenge. im confused about consecutive run #5. how can any consec run in 9?

Great job!!,!!! FYI, I believe cons run #5 was on the 2019 card. Same problem. Wasn’t there a FAQ on the NMJL explaining it?

I had a question about #5 too. It really wasn’t explained on the video. Is it any three consecutive numbers? Why does she say any consecutive run has to end in a nine? Maybe there was a problem with the video I watched although I replayed it many times and it was the same.

@@shoppersmd so, it is any 3 consecutive numbers, same suit or 3 suits. There isn’t much room to write it out with 2 hands on same line. It was a hand from 2019 card. NJML explained it on there FAQ section. Last time I checked, the explanation was still on there. You might want to check it out. Good luck.

Just had a question. When explaining the Dragon hands, you said, "The year and Winds-Dragons have 4." (dragon hands) but I didn't see a dragon hand in the Year category. Is that what you meant? If you were including winds AND dragons, then there would be 8 in the Winds-Dragons and Year categories. If just dragons, then there are none in the year category, and 3 in the Winds-Dragons category. Your analysis of the card is fabulous and full of insights. I appreciate it so much and I will be listening to it several times so that some of your insights stick in my brain. Last year I watched you unpack the card by doing every hand and so I am doing that this year. (my second year playing Mahjongg.). I'm about half way through the card and I'm finding it so helpful! Thank you for all you do. I look forward to every one of your videos.

Thanks for the handouts. Also thanks for the links to other card analyses. I enjoy seeing this from several perspectives. Also, I agree with your fatal error. But I see that Tom Sloper got a comment from somebody that thinks this is an error from the League. His response, like your comment, is a witty way to explain that a joker is required. My guess is that this won’t be clear to everybody. I think it would be helpful to state plainly that you make the hand with a Kong of whites made with or without jokers , a Kong of flowers made with or without jokers, and a Kong of 2s which must include at least one joker and a single 2 and a single 1 in the same suit as the Kong of 2s. I bet there is plenty of misunderstanding about this hand.

When will the 2022 card be available to purchase?

The new card is released late March so players who order before February 1 should receive it by the first full week in April :)
