29 states of India in 29 days, that's the driving challenge we set ourselves in the Renault Kwid!
In this FMSCI-sanctioned national record run drive "Renault Kwid 29 States 29 Days Challenge driven by evo India, in association with Ceat Tyres and powered by HPCL" we are tackling all kinds of roads across India in the peak of the monsoons. We are out to test the suitability of the Kwid to India by putting it to the ultimate test over every kind of road surface you can find in India and in all kinds of weather.
In leg 2 we travel from Shillong - the petrolhead's dream residence, through Guwahati and on to Siliguri where we bid goodbye to the wonderful kaleidoscope that is the North East. From there on we cut southwards through traffic ridden West Bengal and then through some of the most incredible roads in Jharkhand. Keeping up the pace we scythe through Odisha and Chhattisgarh and into Andhra Pradesh. A quick dash through Telengana follows before we breeze through Tamil Nadu and on to Pondicherry. Karnataka and Kerala are followed by Goa and its distinct flavours of Portugal. A quick stopover at our home base in Pune is followed by Gujarat and then Rajasthan, the 29th and final state in our list. All of which was done in a record 26 days, 3 days ahead of our target. A new FMSCI certified national record!
On this phenomenal drive the Renault Kwid didn’t cough or splutter through the torturous roads. We didn’t molly-coddle it and she didn’t cry out for some TLC. The Ceat tyres performed very well especially in the rain and didn’t give us a single puncture. And the cars ran beautifully on HPCL’s Power petrol. 29 states ticked off in 26 days. This is an epic national record run.
