I'm a 72 year old woman in good health before all that happened to me.Your remedy would not have helped me before I was taken to the hospital. Good advice after having the initial treatment, of specific antibiotics, perhaps. People die from this infection, and I was well on my way there. I was admitted to the hospital with a high fever, dehydration, uncontrollable diarrhea with mucous, and a peculiar smell to it, which is typical of a C-DFF infection. I also had very low blood pressure, and high white cell count. The stool test came back positive for C-DFF. I was in the hospital for a week being treated with Vancomycin, and a probiotic called Florastor, that has saccharomyces boulardii in it. I continued on the same combination at home, a bland diet, while very slowly adding more cooked vegetables and fruit. I'm fully recovered now.
Thank you for sharing your experience. 50 yr old woman, suffering 11 months. Finishing up another round of vanco now. Waiting to see the infectious disease dr in a week. This is such a difficult and traumatic illness. I have to hang on to every positive story I can. I appreciate you sharing. I'm going to look into the Floraster
@@kellystone5387 Hi Kelly, I hope the infectious disease doctor can help you. I saw one and he totally understood what I was going through. After I wrote that comment, and a few weeks later I had a recurring bout of C-DFF. My PCP referred me to the specialist. I was put on more Vancomycin on a tapered regime, and more of the probiotic, Florastor. I'm finally better! Medicare would not cover any other treatments, such as the antibiotic Dificid, which costs over $4000. or fecal implant therapy. Good RX gave me a good discount coupon when Medicare wouldn't pay for Vancomycin until August, and it's now June 2022. Check out a great supportive website for C-DFF sufferers called the Peggy Lillis Foundation.
Hi. Im glad to hear your story. Do you remember how many pulls of florastor you were taking. I was doing vancomycin and 3 pills florastor a day, but after 4 days of finishing the antibiotics I'm started to feel the same and more loose stools. Did you take florastor at a specific time or with food?
@@justines Sorry I haven't answered sooner. I hope you've recovered! I'm still taking the Florastor twice a day after eating. I'm also taking capsule form, of a Kefir nutrient, called Kefiran twice a day. I also have a probiotic drink from Kevita. It has ginger and lemon in it. I've had 3 recurring bouts of C-FF. If I get a 4th, my infectious disease doctor said he would put in an emergency request for a one time treatment of monoclonal-antibodies, called Zinplava (Bezlotoxumab), along with more Vancomycin. There has been good success with that treatment. So far I'm not fully back to normal, but no fever or other infectious symptoms.
This was helpful but can you please give more in depth information. I’ve had C. Difficile for the third time now and it’s hard to find the right information including: Diet, exercise, best probiotics, what you can and cannot take while on medication, and all of the above. I live in Canada and I’ll our health care system is failing us. I’ve talked to about six different doctors and not one of them can help me and it can take years to see a specialist. It would be great to get a straight answer so hopefully this finds you. Thank you😊
@@carlybergunder4472 what do you mean by this? Im also in Canada, recurrent c diff, tried both Vanco and Dificid, Im desperate for help. Did you recover yet?
@@nuffsenuff2890 It's not that bad- dilute it in a carrier oil like olive oil or coconut oil. The liquid works better and faster than a capsule sitting in one spot in your gut waiting to break down.
@@rachkate76 Thank you for your help. I've never thought of putting it in a carrier oil. I just drop some in water, brace myself, throw my head back and throw it down the gullet. Your way is much more refined. Coconut oil it is from now on.
Rach Kate if some one is suffering from sibo can take oregano oil and when we have to take probiotics to add good bacteria because whenever a person consume oregano oil or grape seed oil extract good and bad bacteria effects both , so what one has to do in this regard ?
Hi dr. Berg. I'm a 44 year old female and i've recently gained belly and back fat. I workout and eat healthy. Is is possible to have C-dif with hard stools? The doctor did a PCR GI Panel test and out of 22 pathogens the C-dif Toxin A was positive. All abnormal started 5 months ago. Presented with 1 day of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. This may have been food induced and linked to tuna fish salad. Then following that primary care gave antibiotic amox that week. Hard stools ever since, acid reflux daily, stool color changes sometimes yellow hue. Eating all bland foods and smaller portions drinking only water. Have not committed to taking another antibiotic for C- dif yet and not sure what this might actually be. Again though, completely healthy before the initial onset which seemed like food poisoning or gi infection. Any info you can provide please I would greatly appreciate. I want to see a homeopathic doctor at this point but can not find any where I live. I have watched your videos and wish I could come to you.
Have you found any answers? I just tested positive and my only relief is eating bananas and saltines. Electrolyte drinks. Afraid to take the treatment of antibiotics so looking for alternatives.
@@MrDreamK1d c diff makes me go 30 times a day!!! It’s awful. I started antibiotics to treat it because I had blood and colon tissue. I’m taking flagyl and probiotics. I’m getting better but I hope it doesn’t come back.

When C-Diff gets to the point of severe vomiting and bloody diarrhea then it's time to get on Vancomycin or Flagyl....I'm on my 3rd recurrence of C-Diff so trust me I understand....waiting to see if I can have an FMT done (Fecal Microbiota Transplant), it has an 85-90% cure rate for C-Diff.... it's an awful bacteria and the toxins will make you think death is at the door any minute......I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
@Summer Lane I'm on my second bout with this , not sure I want to do antibiotics , it has messed me up so bad I have severe gastritis and colitis due to it , nor even sure which route to go this time , if natural or what. Hope your doing better . Any advice?
If you liked this video, you may also want to know that at this time, the FDA has only approved Fecal Microbial Transplants (FMT) for c-difficile (c-diff) infection, which is a really severe, recurrent infection. Antibiotics are used to treat c-diff, but the infection has a really high chance of recurring, which results in having to take more antibiotics, and then the bacteria become resistant to the antiobiotic! C-diff can also result in malnourishment. But FMT can help!
Lol. Dr. Berg seems so laid back and low key that when you first start watching his videos, you can miss the fact that he has a great sense of humor. Did you see the video he and his wife did at Halloween where they were giving kids handfuls of kale instead of Halloween candy while touting it's health benefits? Hilarious.
Awesome info! My mother in law had this after chemo and a bone marrow transplant when my son was really young. She was living with us at the time. I got yakult (probiotic drink) and did a bunch of research! I found that it can’t live in an oxygenated environment, and one thing that can be helpful is milk of magnesia. So as a preventative measure, we all took the milk of magnesia to flush out the bad bacteria, and the probiotic drink daily to add the good. No one else got the cdiff, and my mother in law recovered. Shes been cancer free for over 5 years now!
I just came across this video. Can somebody recommend a good brand (organic with no cheap additives) for the black seed oil and the myrrh extract tablets Dr. Berg recommended? I had been taking Florastor, but I found out about it a little late. Thank you!
I contracted this when I was prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection. I didn't realize I was severely malnourished. I'd only taken 2, and got sick, but I guess enuf was in my system. I was hospitalized for over a month, told I died 2x, and when released, Dr told family if I lived 12 days after leaving, it would be a miracle. That was 6 yrs ago. My daddy contracted it, and died 2 wks later. Older adults and children are susceptible, so please have your Dr run tests to ensure you're not malnourished.
Hi Karen, Glad you are feeling better. I believe I have c.diff as well. Like you, I was given antibiotics for a sinus infection. I started having symptoms. I'm still waiting for my stool sample to come back. They went ahead and gave me Metronidazole. I was curious what they gave you and how long did it take to go away? Thanks for your time.
This is happening to me right now after taking antibiotics. Please anyone reading this before taking antibiotics. If there is anyways you can heal natural please do it! I would never wish this on anyone
Hope you are healed, what was the protocol you used. ? I’m in my 3rd bout with it. Afraid of getting septic. Thinking of getting antibiotics tomorrow for safeties sake.

Did anyone ever cure their C Diff naturally? Apparently, natural cures involve taking probiotics (especially Saccharomyces Boulardii) along with the following: Myrrh Extract combined with Black Seed Oil Black Walnut Hull Mastic Gum Peppermint Oil and/or Limonene Turmeric (standardized to high curcumin) (to be honest I don't think most turmeric supplements have high enough turmeric.) If I cure my C Diff, I'll definitely make a video or write an article about it, because I've noticed online there's almost no "natural cure protocol for C Diff" out there. There are natural cure protocols for so many different illnesses, but for some reason finding one for C Diff is challenging.Turmeric (standardized to high curcumin)
I got both and I suspect I got them both from the doctors office. Let me tell you why, it all started wen I wen to my normal checkup witch was in October 18 of 2019 everything was normal till a few days later I had a bump on my hell that almost felt like a splinter. So I ended up trying to dig it out and I had a lil bump that was filled with puss. So I drain it and clean it and it heal up didn’t think nothing of it. Around a week later I had something similar between my fourth toe and pinky toe. I was thinking it’s just Athletes foot but I started seeing puss come out so I went to urgent care on Sunday November 3rd and they thought I had some kind of skin infection and a bad case of athletes foot. They gave me a shot of antibiotics and put me on two other medications one was Fluconazole and the other one was Clindamycin. Around two days later they called me and said that the sample they took from my feet came back positive for MRSA that I needed to fallow up with my doctor and that they had me on the right medication to treat that. So a call my doctor to set an appointment and they gave me an appointment for Friday November 8th. By then my foot had heal up and I had just finish my medication. My doctor acted surprised to see that my MRSA had cleared up even ask me so why did you come to see me if it heal up I told him because the urgent care told me to do a fallow up. I had also mention to him that ever since I got on the medication I was having light diarrea and he explained that antibiotics would do that. So we got thought that and all I got prescribe that day was some Fluconazole for my athlete foots witch is working great. So that fallowing week my diarrea was getting worst and it didn’t make no sense because I had finish one of my medications and I was expecting for my stool to be back to normal. Gosh I was so wrong so. On Monday November 18 my diarrea was really bad I think I used the restroom probably around 5-6 times I knew something wasn’t right then so I went to my doctors clinic and this other doctor suspected that I might have C.diff since I was on antibiotics so he did some blood work witch came back normal and then he sent me home with some containers for me to bring me back some stool samples. The next day I drop it off and a few hours later they called me to tell me it came back positive for C.diff. Now I’m on medication for C.diff and I’m doing all the research I can to get better and to prevent this from happening again. Hopefully I don’t have to go back to the doctor I’m to afraid of picking something else up.
@Prieto 323 what medication for CDiff? I heard doctors treat it with antibiotics...doesn’t make sense to me...it’s an antibiotic resistant infection that’s usually caused by taking antibiotics??
Mary Schriver, yes, c diff is an antibiotic resistant organism but it is not resistant to all antibiotics. Vancomycin is typically used to treat c diff but labs usually check to see which antibiotic is best per case. The medical understanding is that you need to kill the c diff to then be able to restore natural microbiome because c diff is like a weed and will keep growing and overtake the good bacteria if left untreated; this will eventually kill the patient from dehydration and/or malnutrition.
@@prieto3235 Wow! You really got the run around treatment, and have been put through a lot!! The doctors were treating you for MRSA with an antibiotic that's known to cause C_DFF!! The go to antibiotic, for treatment of C-DFF, is Vancomycin and also Dificid! I got C-DFF from being on the antibiotic, Clindamycin, for an abscessed tooth. If you ever get any type of infection, again, be sure to tell the treating doctor you've had C-DFF! They need to know so as to be able to not put you on another antibiotic that can cause C-DFF. I hope you are fully recovered now! Check out the Peggy Lilis Foundation. It has lots of info on C-DFF, and treatments for it..

Hi Dr Berg, As always, good and a learning video. Ca you also bring a new topic: Testicular varicosele. I heard that is very common... more than expected. Can you talk about it and if Keto may help? Thanks
EXCELLENT Video Dr Berg!! If an antibiotic seems appropriate for a medical condition, is an injection of an antibiotic safer than an oral antibiotic to prevent the possibility of C Diff? Would love to see you do a video on this topic. Keep up the great work. I use your Wheat Grass Powder everyday. Love the taste of your product.
The antibiotic Vancomysin, which is usually tried first does, not work if injected or in an IV. Not sure about the other antibiotic, Dificid, which is also used to treat C-DFF.

*BLACK SEED CAN'T REPLACE AN ANTIBIOTIC* - antibiotics can penetrate body tissue but can natural antibiotics like blackseed do? I suffered from C-Diff for over a year and was hospitalized twice for it. Vancomyacin was the culprit for the several reoccurances. Well worth the extra out of pocket cost to see the homeopathic.

What do you say to recent studies that show that probiotic supplements are basically useless? Like the one article in newscientist from September 2018. Very interested to hearing your thoughts
Can you get this other places besides hospitals, etc? And can a person have this infection for years and no doctor recognize it? I have ALL those symptoms, but no doctor knows what's wrong. The carnivore diet keeps it mostly under control, but I still have very occasional symptoms if I try to eat anything but meat.
I think c. diff is easily diagnosed in fecal samples...Plus I don't think you'd have it for years and still be surviving. Probably something else. (I'm no doctor though)
Mr Berg if ur trying to help people this is not the best way. c different is a very serious medical condition, specially in elderly and children. I cannot believe ur advertising home remedies for this disease when it needs urgent medical professional attention right away. u should go to medical school Berg
I have cured several life-threatening illnesses with home remedies. The first was a case of giardiasis that kept me up all night, with stuff pouring out both ends every half-hour until I took slippery elm in coffee in the morning and found that it needed hot water to dissolve and be effective. See my reply to Nopehahalolwut above for what it did for antifreeze poisoning in cats and parvo in dogs. I read a book called Organic Garden Medicine that had three case histories of cabbage poultices curing gangrene. Having used it for over nearly 40 years, I can well believe it. After all that use, it became ineffective as an antibiotic, but it still takes out inflammation--except for C. diff.
If the infection is not severe.. no need for medical treatment. Plus if it isn’t severe giving antibiotic treatment would be counterproductive. Conventional medicine is becoming more and more ineffective as the years pass. I’m a nurse and see it in the hospital everyday… ppl are getting worse not better
Medical places literally cause this, and they can't even get treatment right. Antibiotics cause this by killing off competitors. The toxins it emits are glucosyltransferases which means they transport glucose. It makes sense to INCREASE competitors enough to overcome this bacteria and also DECREASE glucose in your colon. If you're in dire situations you're obviously not going to be able to consider just altering your diet and upping probiotics, but IN RECOVERY, absolutely. You must think about the bacteria and out compete it so much that it almost becomes nonexistence inside you.
