I’ve only just found your channel but I find you the most down to earth genuine recovery influencer. I can relate to your experiences especially the ‘washing machine mind’ and shop-hopping with extreme hunger. No one else has described it as well as you have and it makes me feel much less alone, thank you

thank you for this video Emily, what you mentioned about indecision is very clear. It's important to recognize the ED voice and to act in the opposite way. Your videos are so helpfull ! Please continue posting them!❤

@@emilyspence2961 I wish I heard your words and advice earlier in my life! My ED started in 1973, when I was 8 years old. There was not much knowledge about it then so I had to deal with it on my own😥

Thank you for the video and TYSM for all your helpful content, just wanna say that to me recovery channels like yours are literal everyday heroes; saving so many lives and being the remedy for so many of us. I'm very grateful for your content and your videos are very comforting and helpful, I just fell really guilty as I know I'm definitely in quasi with the process but I am trying to challenge myself each week. Apologies for such a long comment but I always get this fear that ever since I've had anorexia and this extreme OCD, I feel as though my intelligence has really suffered and I've lost a bunch of it, and my actual humanity. I know it sounds so silly but I often feel as though I have become somewhat primal, it's like everyday I only feel a reward system from movement compulsions, and when I'm, not being active I'm just thinking about food or eating food, like a primal hunter or something lol. I guess my question is did you sort of feel the same/instances where others have felt this way, and would I regain a bit more of my humanity and I guess civilized ways when I'm recovered. I just really wish my mind could be more focused and invested in my uni work; before all this I would be quite happy being behind a computer all day studying/gaming, but when I try do this now it's as though I cant focus and my thoughts are just "FOOD, EXERCISE, FOOD, EXECRISE", it's really causing me to be behind in Uni work and I feel so guilty and ashamed because of it

Hey there, thank you again for your support and I am pleased to hear that you are finding my sharing helpful. I resonate deeply with the primal state you are describing and encourage you to hold onto the fact that it is very normal and natural for a body and brain in starvation/survival mode to feel raw, and primal and centred on the actions aligned with healing. And that with nutritional rehabilitation this naturally subsides to leave more space for the non-survival aspects of the human experience. I hope this helps and I will also add this topic to my list to cover in a video as its an interesting one and something that I know many will relate too x

@@emilyspence2961 thanks Emily, I appreciate the reply & support very much; the disorder makes me feel so lonely and outcast sometimes, but channels like yours truly make me feel less alone through the recovery journey, and I feel as though I speak on behalf of most others there too. Keep up the great work, you’re an excellent coach! :D 👍
