Happy Friday everyone! We hope you enjoy our video on Navy SEALs vs. Navy SWCC! As always, if you learned something from this video, make sure to give us a like, and subscribe if you're new! We will see you next week. Have a great weekend!
For those who are really trying to go for this, they’re really looking for the same standards out of all NSW and NSO candidates on the PST. Numbers you want to be hitting on a bad day is a swim under 10 minutes, 75+ push ups, 75+ sit ups, 10+ pull ups, and under 10 minute run. Seal officers, get that swim and run under 8:30, and push ups and sit ups both 95+ and pull-ups 15-20+. These numbers go for NDs, EODs, SARCs, DMTs, and SAR.
Basically there are 6 ODAs in a company. So they specialized in infiltration techniques, every 1 or 2 ODAs will be specialized mountain terrain operations, combat diving, freefall. But now all Green Berets are required to be freefall qualified, so I'm not sure how's the arrangement now.
I had a very successful Air Force career, and I was always the best athlete in my units. But I's sure I could never qualify as a SEAL or SWCC. It takes a special breed.
You forgot that CAG, Rangers and ODA's would rather work with SWCCs than seals. And that they augment them regularly. The only people who like seals are seals and people who don't know about seals.... ask any SOF enlisted. For the most part officers say the same ol officer shit!!!
If you’re in middle school right now, the best thing to prepare for special operations would be swimming, wrestling, track/cross country, and football. The harder you train for those sports, the better off you will be. Don’t even focus on training for a specific job until your last few years of high school.
And don’t forget to have fun in all of these sports! You don’t have to do all of them, nor do you have to be the best at them. It’s all about being 1% better than yesterday. Focus on the long term goals while taking baby steps.
Is there a separate special SWCC team that operates only with DEVGRU, like the way DEVGRU is different than SEAL, or how SOAR is the special aviation group for special operations?
@@carycoller3140 yeah it really should thats why you can sign a contract where you just get sent to the special warfare pipeline and with that contract it can be on a dep which stands for delayed entry program so if you fail you don’t have to be stuck with a normal sailor job and you can go to another branch and try something
They do the same selection then get asked which you want to go to when u pass and have largely interchangeable skills just specialising in jumping and maratime respectively, all you really need to know if you're not in them
@@olivergjika2943 Yh but i think the SBS does a little extra training compared to the SAS, i think they teach them how to cannoe for long distances and under water demolitions
@@fazestewart9844 SBS will go on to attend swimmer canoeist training, also known as combat diving, while SAS will go on to attend their troop specialty training, boat troop (combat diving), air troop (freefall) and mountain troop (mountain warfare). After that SAS will continue to attend other specialized trainings.
I know this is supposed to be the last vs, but it would make sense to do Navy Corpsman vs 68W because there are significant differences. Also i'd like to see DoE's NNSA covered.
It stretches my imagination that there are people among us who have this much drive, this much determination, this much motivation...It's so alien to me personally that it's hard to comprehend.
You are born one way or the other. These days, it is almost incomprehensible to people. Back in the day, we were just built for shit. Generational differences. Even our fat kids in high school were less than 200 pounds. Today? Pfff. 400 pounds is fat? lol.
Hey GD, prep has now been reduced to 5 weeks instead of 8. It is also held in Coronado but for SEAL/SWCC. Divers and EOD still do prep at Great Lakes and go thru a different prep with different drills. Source: my buddy is in BCS week 3 now 😎
Just came from coronado. I can back this up. All phases for SO including prep are 7 weeks long. BO is only two weeks now, and it is the final two weeks of prep. SO and SB do prep and BO together (although they do different test outs in BO) then split when they phase up. Also as you mentioned prep is now is coronado, which is contentious as it was more focused on fitness in great lakes, while in coronado it is more about acclimation with more being wet and getting beat.
They also removed BCT from the mix, the two week course that was before all OPS selection. Somewhere in the early 90's. So sad. They also removed parts of training, like wearing boondockers in the sand instead of sneakers, tons of other shit. Anyone can complete BQT these days. Sad days for America.
Amazing Video ! I thought that both SEALS and SWCCs were alike, I never knew they were that different. I'm learning a lot about my favorite heroes on your page. Keep Up The Great Work !
I was a different kind of SEAL. I was black ops behind enemy lines as a submarine door gunner. I was lucky to get that job directly after Ranger school of hard knocks where i did BUDs. So thats why i hate stolen valor
@@grampagamingguy6833 stop the lies . Stop gaming so much and actually research. I get it Trump your savior for the answers to America but don’t be ignorant man. Information is free. Obama signed that stolen Valor Act in 2013 making it a felony . Hate him or not I respect that . Plus he pushed the Bin L. Hit. A W for America in the whole ordeal . Don’t forget Bush started the war. Respect the veterans 🫡 easy to hate the leader in war but not the person who started the war.
This channel deserves all the love it needs. I always look forward towards the next versus video as its always packed with a fuck ton of information and intel about both components. Not only that, but the great background music keeps you focused on the video. Only thing I wish I knew, is that damn intro song for the versus videos. I tried searching for it but found no luck. Would you mind sharing the link/name? :)
• US Navy Maritime Expeditionary Security Forces (MESF/Formerly known as Coastal Riverine Forces). • USN & USMC VBSS (Visit, Board, Search, & Seizure). • US Navy Master-at-Arms • Office of Naval Intelligence • NCIS undercover and counterespionage
Navy SEALs missions are more on direct action, counter-terrorism, special reconnaissance, amphibious reconnaissance, hydrographic reconnaissance, VBSS, ship and GOPLAT takedowns, sabotage of coastal bases, facilities, harbors, ports and other maritime related operations. Force Recons are more focus towards reconnaissance operations such as special reconnaissance, deep reconnaissance, long-range reconnaissance, amphibious reconnaissance, hydrographic reconnaissance, close surveillance and few other reconnaissance operations. Other additional operations they are also capable in conducting are limited direct action raids, unconventional warfare or foreign internal defense, counter-intelligence and counter-surveillance of MAGTF, VBSS, port and harbors sabotage. Navy SEALs focus more on direct action and other operations that deal directly with the enemy while Force Recons deal mostly with reconnaissance to provide intelligence to the MAGTF commander on the enemy's status.
SWCC sounds more rewarding & interesting than the SEALs. An added plus is that you don’t have to deal with diving stuff or Officers as much. Also, if you quit or fail BUD/s, the instructors can recommend you to the SWCC or EOD programs. I imagine some SEALs want to become more well rounded & leave the SEAL community to become EOD techs or possibly SWCC & viceversa.
You have mentioned SWCC being more rewarding because of things you do NOT deal with and the pluses of LEAVING BUD/s, not the job of SWCC. If you want to operate a heavily armed boat to engage the enemy, be a SWCC. If you want to engage the enemy in combat operations on land or the water with a rifle in your hand as a thinking shooter, be an operator(Not a boat operator).
Bruh if you drop from buds the instructors will not recommend you to SWCC. You will be put into a basic navy rate and have to wait 18 months to have a chance to go back to spec war
Yaya I dont know who lied to you but if you fail BUD/S you get sent back to your old MOS and can retry 18 months later. SWCC require more training on boats and crew served weapons and how to use them
@@axlbublitz2310 In my days 20 years ego the ABE rate was SEAL, SWCC and EOD eligible. My command was so bad I know guys that didn't want to fail training because they would have to come back to the shitty kitty.
Thanks for everything general discharge I have gotten my sb contract and heading to boot on July 12 u have been a very big help into helping me achieve my dream and goals thank you for everything
You should do a video about U.S. Naval Aircrewman Candidate School in Pensacola. You go through this school so that you can have an enlisted flying job in the Navy. I went through it and ended up a P-3C Orion crew (anti submarine warfare aircraft that only shore based). The P-3's have been replaced by P-8's these days. I had a great time flying in the Navy for 5 years without ever stepping foot on a ship. My boss did 30 years in the Navy without ever being on a ship. Because P-3's/P-8's count as sea duty as you do 6 month deployments. So they would just go from P-3 squadrons, to shore duty, back to P-3's etc.
Trying out for SB, my fastest swim was 12:32 but still failed i got told it needs to be under 10:30 to even qualify and it was my last pst but i can still pst during bootcamp i ship march 1st
@@LuisAlvarez-pb1wj how long have you been in the challenge program for? My last pst swim time was 9:56 but I wanna say I got contracted in December at like 11:15 ish. That is true about giving it a shot in boot camp but you need to be even more competitive to be considered. Shoot me your phone # or insta and I could help you out with some stuff to help improve pst numbers 💪🏼
8:15 Far from the most difficult military training gin the entire world. Israel is more difficult. French Foreign Legion more difficult. For 20+ year, China has a large scale outfit that is more difficult
I know you said it’s a lot more difficult to become a SO or SB once active duty navy but Could you please do a video explaining how to get into? I’m a GM hoping to try out for SWCC one day.
I really wanted to watch this through but it was so hard for me to comprehend what the narrator was saying over the background music. I would’ve loved to be able to finish the video but the music was too distracting:(
When you say SWCC capabilities includes “strikes”, do you mean that they undertake their own offensive operations independent from other SF groups? The only reason I lost interest in SWCC is I didn’t want to just be on the combat craft. I wanted to take part in VBSS and littoral raids as well as direct action fire support during major operations in a riverine environment. Essentially, a modern day river rat. Is that what they do? Or do they primarily just do insert/extract for other SF groups?
@@masterchimichanga117 idk maybe, but a video could highlight the difference ie underwater/dive school, or even just the different career opportunities for someone debating which one to join
@@jamesthornton2198 Navy EOD has more opportunities to work and deploy with SOF units and is generally considered the highest level of EOD/Operational experience and training.
