On vacation in Florida I guess 2012 or so I saw a gentleman in a motorized wheelchair his wife and son was beside him walking … son was around 70 and a special needs son , his wife was dressed to impress and the old man had a red hat on that said D day paratrooper and the sides of the cap was covered in pins and both sides had antique class a colored patches…. I told my wife and daughter I needed to speak to this man … I stuck out my hand and he grabbed onto it I then sounded off in my NCO voice as I pulled him forward… I am so sorry sir you had to jump into combat with such a piss poor unit…he sounded off louder jerking towards him let me guess your one of those pos pucking chickens, guilty as charged sir… he responded sir hell son I worked for a living and I sounded back that’s why your still a hard mf. He laughed and said damn straight … he then said to my wife you and your daughter go with my wife and son , we’re going to sit and talk for a while come back later … one of the best conversations of my life …
