Will Muslims accept if a muslim is shown cooking pork and tasting it too? If no, how could a temple brahmin girl is shown eating chicken that too cooking chicken biriyani after offering namaz? The freedom of art must not be used only to demean a religion while ulogizing the other. Respect everybody's faith.

I am a brahmin girl, I very much love to follow the traditions taught by my family. I have lots of Muslim and Christian friends, some are best friends. We have never disrespected each other. In this movie it is projected as if We are oppressed by our family traditions and values. And as if the movie advises us to stop following those beliefs. It's very hurtful. Did We ever complain about our traditions, We love it. Did Muslim girls ever complain about wearing Hijab all the time? It's similar. We are all good with what We have been taught. She wearing hijab while cooking Briyani actually didn't hurt more, she actually cooking and having non-veg foods and teaching other Brahmins to do so was hurtful even more. Kindly don't hurt our sentiments in the name of preaching or reformations. I had always taken Nayanthara as an inspiration, NEVER ever will I watch her movies going forward! Precisely , She says not to follow brahmin traditions, contradictory to the above statement she herself follows some other community traditions while cooking Briyani. Imagine if the story had had a hindu brahmin boy convincing a Muslim girl to remove Hijab and cook pork to be successful in her career. Or wearing Madisar and cook Puliogare! To all political parties or public that hurt Brahmin community, answer these 1. Gowndar, Nadar, Naidu everyone is very religiously following his or her own traditions, none is ready to give his daughter or son in marriage to other community people. 2. Muslims have traditions and they follow it as religiously as us Now, why only target Brahmins?? For years some political parties have been thriving on speaking against us and getting votes. So the hatred should be on these politicians that cause the chaos in society and not those that follow traditions. This country was ruled by Christians for years, people were treated as slaves then. But You have forgiven the community. Muslims invaded as well. But because of these politicians the public still carry grudge only against Brahmins! Forgive, forget and move on. After all, We are all too non- violent to carry so much grudge against! Guys, realise something! the more You're gonna speak or act against us, the more We are gonna emerge out of such controversies and shine bright and high!! You keep hating us and wasting Your time. P.S. I love my friends, some are Muslims, Christians, or any community I don't even knoew. We love each other. They have never hurt me. The others, You keep hurting our emotions, see us succeed, Good luck🤞

Its easy to mock Hindu faith in India because Hindus are very tolerant. Every time a movie has such scenes, the question to ask is "can the same scene be showed mocking other religions?" . Most Tamil directors will easily mock Hindu beliefs , but never do the same for other faiths. Not saying they should mock other faiths, but use the same standards when hurting sentiments of any faith. If you would not do it to Christianity or Islam, don't do it for Hinduism also. Don't take advantage of tolerant nature of Hindus, specially Tamil Hindus.

As a Christian I cannot emphasize with our Hindhu friends, but what I learned in my life is to respect others faith in any aspect, eg: Once I was traveling in train my next seat was Ayyapan Swami Bakthas was there, but unfortunately I had non-veg lunch packed, but knowing their faith I switch two cabin away and had my non-veg lunch. This is called showing love ❤ as co-human. When a religion takes violence over love, in my pov that so called religion is meaningless. Now its time examine our religious activities 😇

Religions are very sensitive, so keeping it out of entertainment as much as possible is good. I can understand your feelings. Though I don't follow any religion. It's totally bad to disrespect the religious beliefs of others. Suppose if a scene was portrayed in a way that Muslim woman wear their dress code and cut, eat pork meat. They also will get offended for such scene. Irrespective of religion and caste, movie should be entertainment without hurting anyone. Freedom is always given only for us to enjoy, not from enjoying in hurting others. It's everyone responsibility to maintain harmony especially media.

It 100% hurts. Lately lot of Tamil movies are subtly hurting Hinduism and showing high of other religion (especially Muslims).Since we ourselves aren’t too religious like others and accept everything without raising our voices, movies show whatever they want in the name of freedom of arts.Few examples of Tamil movies are Ayothi, Maanadu, Sembi, now Annapoorni. I am sure there may be many others too. The reason why we Hindus are lacking knowledge about Hinduism is no compulsion to visit temples or take religious classes.Gurukuls got closed , Nalanda university was destroyed by fire and now if we wake up and question it becomes communal but if others question it like they are nice and religious people. Really is this fair? Lots of things are done subtly and by the time you realise, it becomes too late to pass on our culture to the next generation and children lose their identity People in north are awaking now, especially after the m*rd** of SSR. Hindi movies right from 80s have been showing Hindus in negative shade very subtly and after all these years people are awakening and realising how films have been corrupting and poisoning Hindu culture and history and we in turn were celebrating them too much. Now along with Hindi actors and producers all these ideologies are creeping into Tamil cinemas as well. There is no need to celebrate movie actors but in TN they become the chief ministers. Now with DMK ruling politics, television, movies, everything is monopolised and they say Hinduism should be wiped off. This is dangerous. No point in only Hindus being secular and other religion people are not.Congress has played their role in conversion, in most of South Indian states and continues to do so which needs to stop!

Whatever it is, Our Hindu fellows should protect and respect your own religion like how others protect and respect theirs....

What hurts the most is that no Muslim is coming forward to raise their voice against the portrayal of the Muslim hero persuading the heroine who hails from a devout vegetarian family to cook meat. I'm a Tamil Hindu from Malaysia. I just watched the movie yesterday. I myself felt so hurt watching it. One of the stupidest movie i have ever watched. A girl, growing up around the temple where she grows up listening to our vedas and sastra shown as an ignorat girl who doesnt know whether or not she suppose to cook meat to become a chef. Doesnt India have a line of study who can become a chef by just focusing on vegeterian cuisine???? Than why this stupid drama. And at the end of the movie, a scene showing the final competition where Annapoorni wears burkha to cook Briyani. I ner=ver felt hurt at that scene, but was lauighing out loud at that particular scene. Howe many muslim women's out there have bnecome a chef? Why not potray a muslim womens journey in the race of becoming a great chef when they have so many obstacles in achieving so?

I also studied Sanskrit and my schooling taught me full of slokams and meanings. What they told is during vanavasam of 14 years, Lord Rama had taken honey, rooted vegetables (kilangu) and fruits.. this is my belief.. Honestly, I would have been fine with this movie if anyone had the freedom of expression to hurt sentiments of all religions equally but sadly only hinduism is targeted. The nayanthara character can be shoed as orthodox girl from muslim family and and her father can be showed as mouli(priest). When she is pursuing her dream carrer to become top chef, she has to cook beef. She is confused, thete comes a cherstian guy of foreign origin and help her cook beef with the help of his mother. Her mother says I will pray to Jesus before cooking beef, the girl follow the tips first pray to Jesus and cook beef, and become a top chef. How would you see this script, as a creative cinema. கருத்து சுதந்திரம் OR HURTING OTHER RELIGIOUS SENTIMENT. REGARDING RAM KAIGAIYE TOOK PROMISE FROM THAT HE SHOULD LEAD A LIFE OF SAGE OR RISHIS.
