They have to choose between either better lighting or perfect player models because the processor couldn’t handle both of those things at the same time.
Can't describe my happiness right seeing this. Just amazing, looking back at previous titles and consoles, how much the technology evolved. It amazes me, can't wait to finally play this baby. I couldn't play 2k14 on the current-gen, don't get me wrong, still looks stunning and beautiful to play but...it kinda feels the same as the last one, and i feel that the next-gen will be a truly new experience when it comes to realism. Stunning. Brilliant job 2k. Brilliant job Sony. Kudos!
It's looks truly amazing and I can't wait to get this game and my PS4. I'm so happy with what they've added and can't wait to play My Career on the next gen. I'm also excited to see other 2k games on next gen like WWE 2k.
I haven't ever been a huge basketball fan although after watching just how amazing this game looks, I think now's the time for me to give it a go! Amazing detail, amazing engine! totes gon' get this!
people please notice the passion/urge to WANT to make a game that truly represent the game in real life. these guys don't have that "oh its just a game", or "we got a three year plan" to make the game better type attitude..NO..these guys are really in it to satisfy general and hardcore gamers!! This video is the very reason why 2K need to get back into the football arena of gaming because I know we will get the same level on commitment!!! Man i love the cats approach at 2k Excellent video !!
This game still shines today. The transluscence in the skin , the real time lighting in the sweat. the cloth movement. the weightiness of the bodies. Models today feel a little to plastic and stiff. fabric barely moves. lighting just doesn't feel like 2k14.
Dude the realism is insane!!! at 1:12 his beard litereally gets caught on his jersey pulling up on the neck part of it!! 0_o crazy attention to detail thats awesome!
I am really happy (and envious) for all of those who are die-hard basketball fans. This game looks absolutely stunning and I can only wish that 2K was allowed to remain in the american football arena so I could have a game that made these kinds of strides at the launch of a new console.
2K14 was released for the 360 a month ago. And it's being released on Xb1 as well. But if you've been following the interviews, 2K has not been shy about their unanimous favor of the PS4's specs in this development cycle.
My current dream is to see a Football (soccer) game that is made by 2K on next gen, with the exact same technology on nba2K14, and to have all of the possible leagues, and international leagues. Would rock the world of sports games. I would wait for 3 years, by the time 3 years have finished, you'll have learned everything you need about fotball(soccer)
Quick question: Is it going to be the same on the Xbox One(graphics and all the stuff they are talking about) or is this exclusive to the PS4? It might be a dumb question, but whatever.
Wow what a great video some nice insight into the game and the goals of the developer. Only a few days now and we can get our hands on these new machines and games. Can't wait. Happy gaming everyone!
I take that back actually. I bought all of the NBA 2Ks on Dreamcast each year. I got rid of all my Dreamcast stuff in 2003 and then rebought it over the past year. It just dawned on me I had those at one point.
Developers have preferred Sony's console for a little while due to the fact that pre-order sales have been more on the side of Playstation. As things settle down a little we'll see more balanced coverage. It's all about numbers. It also helps that some developers have been talking to Sony for two or three years now and have even had input into what goes in the PS4.
it looks nice and this trailer was nicely made, pretty dope and it's nice to see something that lasts more than a minute. I wonder how the game will play though and how online will be
It's just a shame they don't make a football game, with the attention to detail and care they put into this game, imagine how good NFL2k would be right now
What Charles Samuel said, remember the same thing happen to the PS3 last gen. You have to be friendly with the devs and listen. PS4 is easy to program for from what sony has told us. The GDDR3 is a pain from what certain people have said. Doesn't matter if its advertised on xbone or PS4 as long as they both get it.
and 2k19 gonna bring this kinda graphics back by using the same engine, im down for that, and pls improve the animations by the way, im done with the 17 and 18 animations
AND without any need of competition soon they will forget of quality. Competition is healthy because it makes pressure to make things of better quality
Ok i got to say that nba 2k franchise this year make the cod move and recycle the game with 2k14 but im really happy that this move was only on current gen..... This proof they work hard just for next gen i got to say that i never think buying 2k14 until now...... Im getting 2k14 for next gen for sure, they deserve it. Great job 2K
games that are developed for the PS4 first will generally look and perform better on it, on the Xbox One you'll get the same game, just a different look. For Example, CoD: Ghosts will be at 1080P for PS4, and 720P for Xbox One, for most people this won't make any difference, but for the people that really want to argue, it's because PS4 can output higher resolution graphics and X1 can't. Xbox has less power "under the hood", like comparing a V6 to a V8, both are fine, but the V8 gives more power
They basically opted to go for a cheaper game engine instead of building on the foundation the Eco-motion engine provided. Pretty much every game after 2k15 was the same graphically, they did at least change the player models every now and then I'll give them that.
for 2k15 on the current they really have to improve it. and the hand needs to interact and touch the ball and ring. they also need to add grip to the ball cause they didnt do that on next gen too. plus change kemba walker and cp3s face. also gordon hayward.
