My steal percentage when up so far after studying tour 2K19 steal tutorial. You really break things down so well. You were actually the first 2K player I subscribed to and I've been playing since 2k on Dreamcast. Respect! People actually feared my defenders on 19 because they knew I could take advantage quickly. I had a 7' PF with 99 steal and block. I'm working on a lot of new builds but I always make defense a serious priority. Thanks again for your help. Cheers! PS, do you speak Cantonese?
Great video ! But what badges do you recommend having on my career for better steals? Obviously pick pocket but does any other badge help with getting more steals or is it just an I.Q. Thing ?
Sam you have a big voice in the community and this is something that needs to be addressed for us big men! I see no videos about this being posted and someone like me who doesn’t make videos doesnt have as much of a voice so hoping that people see this especially for the bigs out there. RIGHT STICK DEFENSE IN THE PAINT THIS YEAR DOES NOTHING. I dont understand whats the point of HoF intimidator. The meta’s to big man defense last year was perfect. You didn’t have to jump in order to play good defense all you had to do was put your hands up. THIS YEAR you cant even stick your man or get in good positioning in the paint 80% of the time which forces you to jump! That’s not good defense!! Dont get me started on the flagrant fouls that are constantly being called in the paint in proam/rec for just having your hands up! (Right stick defense). This NEEDS to be patched asap. I love the rebounding this year but the defense needs to be buffed and moves more smoothly. 2k Community please share this comment especially you big men out there suffering from the same issue
If you are in the paint going up on right stick you are dead. This year it puts you in bad position and Huge animation disadvantage. I believe 2k wants us to time our jumps. When I jump correctly is stops 24/7
Sam Pham NBA 2K20 Tips and Tutorial do you think that sounds logical? I understand timing your jumps, but we can’t get good animations by putting our hands up? You jump 50% of the time it will Be a foul no matter which badges you have. Right stick defense in the paint was way more effective last year and the right way to play defense (Good contests > jump timing) jump timing only makes sense to me if you are trailing your opponent or have a bad angle to right stick. I should’t HAVE to jump. This has to be patched smh

Sam I love using the 94-95 New York Knicks but it is very difficult for me to play defence against my friends because 2K has made the Knicks defense very slow and ineffective.... can you make a defensive video with the Knicks using your techniques Patrick Ewing and John Starks PLZ!!!!
I made a 2way lockdown build. I get slashing lockdown and playmaker takeover. I’m not a good playmaker I’m mainly a defender and slasher. Idk what to choose for my takeover. Like which one would be more beneficial

After watching this video and the other one you mentioned, I still don't understand "tracking" and trigger taps. When people are coming up the court, what are you doing with L2 And R2 in order to track them. My character is sliding all over the place. Good video though man. It's filled with information, I just don't understand it.
L2 n R2 shuffles yours feet that’s why it feels as your sliding everywhere. Only time you would use L2 n R2 is when the ball handler is attempting to blow by you.

Hey Sam Pham, so yesterday I was playing this guy in MyTeam where he was playing an off-ball zone and he was camping Shaq in the paint...... any way you think I can counter that? I subbed in Porinzigiz and Kat but you know how 2k is I was hitting 1-4 3's with them. It's tuff cuz shooting is so broken where a good player playing zones+offball is hella OP. Any plays, backdoor cuts, or freelance that can defeat those type of players? (I was 10-0 btw til I played that cheesy ass defense lmao)

Hey, how fast do you shuffle tap? Can you make some video where your pressed keys are shown. I'm struggling to get shuffle taps working, cannot stop blowbys...
I must be doing the shuffle tap wrong. When I just hold turbo to get back in position then hold L2, I have more success. But when I alternate L2/R2, it slows me down

Sure I can do that for future defensive vid. It sounds to me tho you are angling you left stick wrong as you are trying to cancel the blow by. Try to aim your LS as you shuffle tap L2R2 to where you think the handler is heading to
so when pressing both L2 and R2, will get your player to shuffle his feet an move with the guy he is checking?? I kno this tutorial is for nba2k20, will this same thing work in 2k21??
Can you do something for trash players who do not understand the importance of passing the ball during half-court possesions and another video geared toward rotation/floor spacing. Too many players run to the secret location waiting for catch and shoots. I WANNA SHOOT FROM THERE TO FOOL!!!!!
no , mike wang , ronnie 2k and the developers mentioned it numerous times. NO MORE my career 99s. once you max ot at 95 you HAVE TO PLAY park , rec , pro am to continue to move forward.
What defense settings do you set to protect the paint on 2k20,every time they drive to the hole it’s wide open and the if there is a man there he runs away from him leaving him open for a dunk or a lay up
Set your Center to stay attach on and off ball as Leave him. Don’t do this if opposing C can shoot. If he can shoot use my all switch defense. Make sure your screen rules help and drive help is on automatic. Watch tutorial 15 and 18 for details
Ughh idk how every archetype is able to steal the ball even if your steals is not higher than a 75, and why is that, every year it’s becoming easy to steal but a little difficult to shoot especially if u don’t have the right jumpshot or know it then its keys😂😭but I really don’t like this spamming era shii is really getting out of hand at this point
