If it costs more to max out a build this year, I’m not buying it simple. $200 for a video game is ridiculous and you are not “broke” for not taking part in it.
As a father of 2 teenagers that are looking forward to 2k25, I look at this game a bit differently. I enjoy playing with them. Proud watching them hustle chores for cash, but just to try and keep them from wasting their money on crap day one builds is hard and stressful. lol thank you for all the good info
Offline gameplay always looks good. It’s the online gameplay with latency is what we need to be concerned about. Don’t waste your attributes points for legend badges they will eventually get patched cause it’s overpowered.
I had a dude tell me online play was the same as offline and online didn't have latency and I was just bad for thinking that lmao bruh couldn't have had 2k shaft further down his throat
ur not paying any extra for it if your gonna pre order the game which most will then you get it automatically... games have been doing it for years like Fifa and COD.. dont act like its something 2k only does and that its an extra cost cause it aint
@@PQTCHIII right other games have done it but that doesn’t make it a good thing? I personally know a couple of people that have e pre ordered, i asked them why. They said cause it’s the new 2k? Like wtf. We don’t know anything about the game, we haven’t seen a real gameplay trailer yet. We have almost nothing to go on and people are buying it because of FOMO. People want the game 2 days early and then when they play it it’s like “oh well this is buggy or this is laggy” whatever it is, the game will not meet expectations and people who bought it early will no longer get to return it because it’s passed the dead line. Now you have a game that isn’t what you expected, you didn’t get any info on the game, didn’t even get to see the gameplay until weeks after you bought it. Nothing, and now you can’t return it. It’s a predatory marketing strategy that preys on people that love basketball and have FOMO just so the company can go to their share holders and say “look people love us so much they are giving us millions with out even knowing what they are buying” Any game that does this does not have my respect. I may love a game but I’ll never respect the decision makers on the top for doing this type of stuff. It’s low and scummy, don’t fall for it.
Miss the old days when it was just a trailer a magazine article and we fount out stuff when the game come out cause everyday it’s someone new ready to complain and cry about everything smh
Most of the badges do multiple things in 2k25 instead of their counterparts from previous 2ks. That is why the badges seem to cost more attributes in my eyes, however ankle assasin breaks that theory since it has nothing new in it I guess. They don't balance stuff correctly.... they needed to put a little more thinking into that before just jacking up attribute costs on the badges.
This might actually be good for balancing so people can’t have every badge and be good at everything because badges tend to bail people out through certain animations
@slumcitykidd9576 I agree but a badge that does 1 thing vs the others in the game that are gaining multiple buffs shouldn't cost the same amount of attributes to unlock.
@JohnnyValencia-y1y I guess it used to be OP but it doesn't really do anything anymore. Maybe the buffed it for 2k25 and made it good again, but break animations don't really do much and the defenders recover quickly from it nowadays. And I'm not saying they should/could add effects to the badge, just that since it doesn't do as much as others it shouldn't be so taxing to unlock with attributes.
I definitely hear what you saying about badges and if your attributes are super high anyways what’s the point of having a takeover system that increases attributes if they already high.
I guess will be that the takeovers ability at level 5 will be like takeover in past games and still boost you. The levels below that tho I can see people choosing a takeover that boost a secondary stat to be more versatile. Like let’s say I have 99 3 ball. A shooting takeover would be useless until I hit level 5 and get the ability. Maybe instead I get a playmaking takeover that boost my handles and speed with ball instead that way I can be faster and hopefully break ankles to get open to utilize my already high 3 ball. Or maybe if you have a build that has finishing in the high 80s you can get a finishing takeover and once you heat up, you’ll be deadly from the 3 and inside.
They just need to update the passing lanes making the ball faster reaching your teammate instead of people spamming x when the ball is getting thrown across court. In a regular basketball people dont gravity towards the ball in passing lanes defenders allow the ball to get received
In my opinion it sounds like instead of ghost contests it'll make it so late contests are less effective against shooters. I think that if implemented correctly (🤞🏾) it'll better penalize bad defenders.
Im buying it for pc for my league for mods and trying different rosters. Im over half the community requesting and getting patches that ruin the game. Tired of builds being patched. Tired of paying so much per build. Tired of sellers. Tired of animations being locked behind seasons and not knowing their attribute requirements until released. Tired of the limited jumpers for each position. Tired of jumpers having different green windows based on attributes attached to the animations (offline jumpers are cosmetic in nature). Im buying 25 and only buying a basketball game every other year
Remember in 2k19 cap breakers was different for every build and depending on your archetype build, you could unlock 1-2 cap breakers at a time at different overalls. I’m curious if they will make it the same for all builds / overall or do it like 19.
Me personally we shouldn't have badges like that in the gane period , badges is the worst all it does is make pplm better than what they are , when u get your takeover now your a super saiyan
I’m going to treat the builder day 1 like Legend badges aren’t worth it. I hardly can tell the difference between HoF interceptor and Gold interceptor.. I’m averaging 4 steals a game with Gold defensive badges so I might be able to make more well balanced builds this year going off what I know.
idk why they just don’t make badges scale exponentially. the gap between gold and hof shouldn’t be damn near the same or only slightly smaller than hof to legend
Im so tired of hearing how much a build costs. Theres other game modes to play beside MP. You dont HAVE to spend any money on a build unless you're impatient and choose to. So what if 2k16 cost less for a build, literally everything is going up in prices.
I’m definitely not buying early access especially since I haven’t even heard a word about current gen, I’m stuck on ps4.. I wonder when they’re gonna start talking about current gen 2k25
As a old head - I had called that level skips years ago and I’m not mad. I would’ve paid for it years ago with mascots but now this game is so recycled. I don’t want anything now because I’ve already had it.
Tbh just don’t buy builds until you know what builds are good for sure. Grinding builds out early on and no money spent will let you make any build and won’t be a waste of money but folks ain’t gone do that 😂
Until the “thresholds” are found, I’ll be rocking with a NMS build. Think I’m going to make: 2-Way Curry, KD-like, and prime Westbrook builds this year. My NMS build will more than likely be a Shooting Center
I’m passing on this one I’ll wait on 2K26. My spending on 2K24 has me thinking why move on to the next game when I’ve basically brought another one on this same game 😢
You say that it takes more attributes to get a badge in 2k25 compared to 2k24, but you fail to mention that there are less badges in 25 and the badges that are in 25 have more impact then 24 badges..
I think cap breakers shouldn't be available to get a legend badge. It should be HOF max. You should Only be able to get legend badges in the builder. Gives people more incentive to go for the legend badge instead of trying to tailor their build to try and get the badge later on with the cap breaker.
Courts look bigger because the player models are smaller… ppl call me a stickler but I don’t like that it’s gonna look weird when players are dunking and moving around but ig it’s not something a lot of ppl care about 😭
That vc glitch finna go crazy I’m not spending a dime on nothing until probably a month or two into the game last year they patched tf out my day 1 build as soon as season 2 came out nah won’t be doing that again
If you look at 2k tutes recent video on this subject he talks about how because there’s less variables this year and less badges, the effectiveness of attributes and badges will be higher compared to previous years. Also the higher threshold for badges is not the same for every badge, intercepter in 25 at silver level only requires 75 steal. Thats way less than in 24
You gotta take what 2k labs and tutes do with a grain of salt, they dont test these bages or animations in live game modes where the sliders are different.. Kinda wild they got a subscription service too and they are affiliated with 2k what so ever..
They should release the demo and a video of them playing a full 12 minute quarter game showing us the new things they added without forgetting to play defense.
I started playing 2k on 23 when it was free for ps. It wasn’t very fun and I stopped almost instantly. Then 24 came out. I got it on release and saw the issues, stopped playing for a bit and came back. Now I really enjoy the game after some fixes. With that being said I already know for a fact the same thing will happen with this game, they have all this great stuff on paper. Then you get into the game and there are about 1000 different bugs people are abusing. Pay to win is creeping into the game. You won’t even have a chance if you aren’t playing whatever is meta. It will be a shit show as it is every year. I’m going to wait till I reviews are out from trust worthy people and when they say the game is in a better spot then 24 I will move over. I have no problem paying for a build, I have a very specific playstyle anyways and won’t really feel the need to make another before I have used up the first one. I recommend anyone on the edge, do not buy the game when it releases, wait for a couple days. Take some time to research builds, figure out where you’ll put cap breaks, and badges. Wait to hear from your favorite content creators to know what’s worth getting and what’s not. And then get the game. Don’t just rush in and waste your money on a game you’re not even 100% sure how it works. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve bought due to hype. Or watching a content creator who has been “bought” by the company to push players to buy. Then actually gotten on the game and hated it. Be smart with your money please, don’t become another number on 2ks board when they go to their stock holder meetings.
I only play offline for the most part and I enjoy playing the my career nba games. These updates suck for me. You can’t get cap breakers without online it seems.
@@RubySigmal no $150 not everyone who plays 2k lives in USA. It's $150 in NZ plus $142 for the most vc, that will get you maybe two maxed players. So over $300 for a basketball I lied sorry it's more 😂😂
Ngl I’m make all around builds I usually go for 93-94 perimeter, 91 steal, decent block & interior… 80-85 3 & middy a decent handle a block I’ll be perfectly fine with gold and HOF badges ngl seem like you gone have to give up a lot for the legend badges I’ll make my build better with the cap breakers 💯
This is the first year that I won’t be purchasing 2k. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on these games and it’s about time to boycott this game. Save your money.
So builds will be more expensive. Ppl that automatically buy level 40 every season will have the advantage and a different version of badge regression ??? 2k has outdid themselves
i think my favorite part of beinf a play now online player is that all the problems oeople have the game in park dont reqllt exist in that game mode BSBSBSB p.s 2k offline modee are alwwys really good too qnd i think we're all a bit too negative on the game
