@THETOYOTAable he isn't a gimmick like current announcers. he's an old school guy from an old school era. a guy like the detroit PA announcer would get booed out of the building. As Tanter says himself, its his job to introduce the players, not be over the top. players that the fans like will get cheered on their play alone. true laker fans realize that he is the best in the business
@Lkr721993 Yeah, here in Germany in Soccer games we don't do a big show during the starting lineup. It's just the annoucer calling the first name, the fans shouting the last name and some clubs play music in the background. Wow, how big was this file just for a 4 minute video? It must have taken you awhile to upload. It looks super nice even without clicking on "HD". Nothing beats the '96 Bulls team and their introduction and PA announcer. Oh, and also NBA on NBC! ABC/ESPN sucks.
@Colidape I like the Intro. It has a classic touch and the way it's presented it feels confident. They don't need to scream around and make a big show out of it. It's just basic, 5 players and the ball and that's the show. Still I prefer the way the player are introduced in European Soccer games.
Michael Biamonte thinks it's all about himself! He is a nuisance. He gives reputable P.A. announcers a bad name! Lawrence Tanter is legendary! I'll take him over that goofy guy in Cleveland too! Oh yeah, Biamonte belongs in the circus with his style! Lawrence has a smooth voice. Those other posers can learn a lot of class listening to Lawrence!

Why must everyone have to argue about petty stuff? Just zip it!! If you're referring to the song,the year was 1971 and yes that was a long time ago. Seems you misunderstood the true meaning of the song. That's the song they use for intros. Nothing wrong with that!
@2009rockchalk hey my favourite team is lakers and i don't want an announcer like cleveland cavaliers cause that announcer is too vulgar for me, but i think an announcer like ray clay when the chicago bulls were nba champions could give a little more of spirit.
NBC fell off when Bob Costas stopped doin commentary ABC is where its at come on now Mike Breen and Mark Jackson and Van Gundy and wussup wit this weak ass intro he said the names of the the home town Lakers like he did for the visiting Magic
The music & Lawrence Tanter are SOOOOOOOO BOOOOOORING. Fans wanna be PUMPED UP, NOT PUT TO SLEEP. NOBODY BEATS Cleveland Cavaliers announcer Olivier Sedra and Miami Heat announcer Michael Biamonte!!! THEY know how to get a crowd PUMPED!!!
i honestly almost fell asleep watching this. is this seriously the most energetic announcer they could find? If you wanna see a good announcer who actually gets the crowd into it and gets the team fired up, check out mason who does the pistons intro
I don't like this intro...although I respect the lakers it's not something for today's NBA. Ray Clay changed the standard and by far he's the best of all time!
i had the biggest exam of my life the day after this and i dident know anything i had a 53 and was on the brink of failing i watched this whole game and winged the exam...i passed :D
laker annoucer is suck, i mean he dont had any speacial annoucer skill like the boston annoucer, or chicago,miami.... i mean he dont have a speacial skill that mean everybody,or even i can annout like him too.
If you have so much class and respect towards opposing teams why did you throw foam fingers and water bottles during the Christmas game against the Cavs? Or where you throwing them at the Lakers?
