Lakers had a weird 1998 playoff run dominating the Sonics and then getting owned by the Jazz immediately after.

perfect example of the immaturity they displayed through the mid-to-late-90s until Phil Jackson came

@@oliverqueen444 Very True. Lakers had absolutely no accountability or leadership in their locker room back then. Del Harris could never effectively command respect from his players the way Phil Jackson did.

@@chrisuncleahmadit’s was ostertag with Karl Malone help defense. That lakers team was not so good at that time. Kobe was not developed

Gary Payton won this matchup against Eddie Jones, particularly in the rebounding, passing, and efficiency departments.

The 1998 Lakers…… what could have been Can’t believe they got swept by those Utah geezers

Well they didn’t have Phil Jackson yet and Del Harris wasn’t the right coach

Most embarrassing playoff loss ive ever seen. The Lakers had too much talent to go out like chumps. Especially vs that utah team that was almost eliminated by 8th seeded injury riddled Houston in the opening round!

@@FuShengAlex Utah had practically no talent outside of 2 players. But the pace was so slow it favored older teams

I'm surprised about the Sonics that series...blowing out the Lakers in Game 1, then losing the next 4 games

@@Armando316 idk how the Sonics got destroyed like that 4 straight games. They were rolling going into the playoffs. Vin Baker was on another level that year

I really liked Eddie but he was too soft in the playoffs when needed. LA was right to ship him outta town.

@@chrisuncleahmad George Shinn messed up big time and he chose not to resign Vlade and decided to go with Coleman because he was cheaper and ask for the Hornets they were not able to extend Rice’s contract But the hornets let a lot of star players go in either trades or free agency from mainly not paying market value
