Old Ewing holding his own with peak O’Neal. Kinda just proves Ewing was the better player when you want to get technical about the whole thing. But Ewing doesn’t ever get the recognition because he never had a Hardaway or Bryant like teammate in his career, not even close.
@@AnthonyScarpa-er3sq better post moves, Ewing. Better mid range shooter, Ewing. Better shot blocker, Ewing. What Shaq did better was be about 50 lbs heavier and muscle his way 2 the basket. What he also did better was win championships with the 2nd and 3rd best shooting guards in the history of the league with Kobe and Wade. Those r all facts sir.
Prime Pat was a more talented big man on BOTH ends of the court for sure, but Shaq was simply a more dominant and powerful force, the likes we had never seen since Wilt Chamberlain. Also, this was NOT Shaq's peak. He was in his young prime but not his peak. He didn't reach his peak until the 1999-2000 season, where he had one of the greatest single seasons in the history of the NBA.
No excuses Ewing got embarrassed by a kid Shaq who honestly was just a regular season player at that time. Peak Shaq was 1998-2002. The fact Ewing allowed a 21 year old Shaq to do this to him was embarrassing.
@@JayYo21oh ok; Ewing just scored 38 pts from various positions in the post and he should be embarrassed that a younger dude with fresher legs that easily outweighs him by 50 lbs can muscle him and score inside also. Coach, how do u suggest he should’ve slowed him down?
@@andresdelportillo9917 If they met in '94, the Knicks would've won in 4 or 5 games. If they met in '95, it would probably go 6 games, but the Magic would've still won the series.
@@SpikeShooter92 AND PPL KNOWN 80% SUPERSTARS NEVER PLAY LIKE ZION , JA, KAWHI, AD, CURRY, PG13 OR EVEN BRON AND EMBIID. I ONLY WATCH WESTBROOK LAST DECADE. HE NEVER CHEATED ME.
People got social media and other things in this society now. Back in 1995 people were more invested in going to a baseball, basketball and football game than today with more distractions.
This video shows some pretty excellent defense by a much older Ewing on a much younger Shaq. Really shows how underrated big Pat was. Makes you wonder if there is no Jordan in the 90s would it have been Ewing and the Knicks the dynasty?
The elite 90's big men had the versatility in general to make Shaq work hard on both ends, he still got his #s but they were doing the same thing to him on the other end too. Then there were players like Rodman who wasn't considered a scorer or even a big yet had extreme stamina and could wear Shaq down towards the end of games, it was slower players Shaq usually dominated because he was also much more effective as a team defender.
Crazy to think that those 90's Knicks never won a championship with those teams they'd! Ewing a top 5 center of all time, Derek Harper greatest point guard behind Magic Johnson, & the rest of that supporting cast, J. Starks, Oakley ect.. Sad they never won.
@@PIP...33 On 4:46 this is Wilt signature fadeaway he scored over 20.000 pts on similar shoot. Tho we agree that Magic Shaq is best version ever considering mobility and shape and speed, he proves he cant score other than dunk or his babyhook near 2 feet around rim. He cant score at all. My Hakeem will always be better just like your Admiral. Also Jabbar and of course Chamberlain. They are simple versatile better scorers.
@@perditadurango9699 IT IS 1 HIGHLIGHT MISS ONLY, BUT AS WE KNOW THAT IS THE EXAMPLE OF SHAQ CAREER. HE CAN ONLY DUNK AND STEP THROUGH USING CHARGE ELBOW INTO CHEST. WILT USED TO SAY THAT MOVE WAS CALLED TO HIM AND KAREEM EVERYTIME THEY DIP SHOULDER.
@@PIP...33 He had good footwork around his fav area. All 5 best centers are kind a different tho. Wilt use fadeaway and vertical likewise unhuman abilities. Your Admiral use quickness and incredible athletic body. My Dream just use best skills and IQ. Jabbar is just pure talent and Shaq is power. The other day I was argue with ppl on other channel to put Moses in top 5 and Ewing is also very close, people forget Malone is best offensive rebounder in history and older fans called him NEVER MISS when he get ball in paint (similar to McHale). Moses also won many games vs some of best centers ever like Hakeem, Kareem, Ewing etc. Russell cant be top 5 because he need better scoring and offense since he was 4th option in the team at least if he was 2nd, we could put him higher. Question is where to put healthy Yao Ming, or Willis Reed and Unseld or Walton tho he had only 2 years Walton was best player ever by some metrics in that time because he won ring without any superstar 75 members, and his blocks, passing and overall impact to the team is matched only by Hakeem and Bird. Walton injuries cost him top 10 for sure.
