For me, the big difference is that the WNBA dunks are all uncontested. The fact that someone is trying to stop the NBA dunk, and gets posterized anyways is what makes them iconic(enough that they invented a term to describe it). The women, meanwhile, all look like they're just standing around, letting it happen. No grit, no toughness, no pressure As much as I enjoy the WNBA, it will never come close to the product the NBA puts out until they enforce a tougher style of play, and expect them to play like professional ballers that are women, instead of female professional ballers
They’re not being paid less because they are women. They’re being paid less because their games are much less entertaining and the WNBA makes a fraction of the revenue the NBA does.

The girls already play with a smaller basketball, why not lower the rim? The rim height was created for men who are on average 6" taller than women. Why not lower the rim to 9.5' or even 9'? At the end of the day it's about entertainment and if the crowd wants to see dunks, why not make the change...
@LoS 3sT good for him! It's always good knowing short guys got bounce! I am 5'7 my self ran D1 track so I def know the struggle of being vertically challenged in stature but blessed with grabbing the rim. Which is why laugh at anyone who can't dunk if they are 6'5 man or woman
Honestly, these woman are incredible. 6 foot 3 Derrick Rose weaving through defenders to throw a dunk down over 6 foot 9 Joel Anthony is not even close to as physically demanding or impressive as 6 foot 9 Brittney Griner barely getting the ball over the rim on a fast break
That’s not what we are getting at. It’s that when guys make actual dunks that take some form of athletic ability, women just think it’s a walk in the park. But when a woman makes a dunk that a high school player, and not a great one, could make, they think it’s so amazing.

It’s crazy because I feel like female athletes should be better than that. Isn’t it crazy how the best, most athletic female basketball players in the world are only about as athletic as the average teenage boy? Just doesn’t make sense to me. If you look at someone like Serena Williams, even if her athleticism isn’t really on the level of the elite male tennis players like Nadal or Thiem, she’s still a very good athlete and decently strong. I’d expect the best WNBA athletes to be better than this.
Sorry if this is gross but Female Pornstars get paid wayyy more than male pornstars. It’s not sexist it’s just fact that woman bring more eyes to that field. Just like men bring more eyes to Basketball in this case.
its definitely true. of the top ten most viewed pornstars of all time only 2 are women. they are riley reid and lisa ann but the reason women are getting paid more is because no one is watching because of the men, they watch because of the women. a lot of the women have websites where they sell stuff and people buy it.

@@trentwise3762 correct, until women can move like men then their games will always be inferior. Part of the attraction with nba is how competitive it is. Part of the competitiveness is how physically dominant alot of players are when they dunk. Women have to know their place in sports, but I understand, you can't hurt their feelings.

One WNBA player (Tina Charles) said it would be a "slap in the face" to lower the rims, BUT... the ball is smaller (28.5 vs 29.5) they play less minutes per game (40 vs 48) they play less than half the games per year (40 vs 82) playoff format (3-5-5 vs 7-7-7-7 not including play-in games) HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE: NBA makes $8 Billion in profits & WNBA has a $12 Million loss The WNBA has NEVER made a profit or "broke even" in it's 25 year existence, they lose millions every year it cost $70 million to "break even", but they only make $60 million 12 teams / 5 million each/ 5 million divided between 12 players, coaching staff, trainers, executives and keeping the lights on they want a 50-50 split like the NBA, instead of the 80-20 they currently have if they received 50-50 they would shut down he next day pay the players and you can't keep the lights on in the arena and pay for day to day operating cost to run a team They could always ask for more money from the NBA on top of the 10-12 million they receive every year from the league

They're not getting paid less because they're women. They're getting paid less because the revenue is dramatically less than the NBA. Blame the consumers, not the league.
Nope...you mean blame the players. People don't watch for a reason. WNBA is boring; their defense is non-existent, and their technique is the bare minimum. Watch a game and you'll see, better yet don't waste time doing that, just look at the dunk clips again, no one on the opposing WNBA team goes up to block/defend any one of those dunks.
I don't know why they want the same amount of money that the men get, they get less views because women don't like watching Basketball and men aren't gonna watch WNBA and money comes from views so it isn't fair to ask for more money.
They should be happy they get paid at ALL considering it all comes out of the mens leagues pockets. They make zero money, and are only allowed to continue because they are women. If it was other men, the league would have been done after the first year.
The reason women dont make as much as men in basketball, is because they don't bring in anywhere near the same revenue as the NBA. It's like the D league best players asking for the same money as the all stars in the NBA. It's not discrimination it's just business.
Agreed. But like most minorities these days, its easier to just blame all their issues on sexism or racism, rather than admit their own faults and just work harder
