Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless discuss what Michael Jordan and the Bobcats should do with the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft. Watch more videos like this at www.espnamerica.com
+Nohavenameiwant i never said he was, but he is not a slasher, rim attacker like DWade in his prime, he is more of an outside shooter like RAllen, never said Beal is equal or better i was talking about style, about game...what is wrong with you?
Harold G Kemba and Beal compliment each other. John Wall kills Beals shot creating and slashing capabilities. Kemba and Beal is a worst Harden and Chris Paul. Which shits on Wall and Beal
CT Runner You’re an idiot if you think Kemba is better and you clearly don’t watch Wizards basketball if you think Wall is similar to Westbrook, you’re only saying that because they’re both athletic and not great shooters...but Wall is very efficient and actually makes his teammates better. Westbrook is stat-padded with empty rebounds who shoots his teams out of games
I let youtube atuo play while I'm asleep. Ive woken up to nfl drafts from early 2010s, kobe vs celtics finals. I didn't know all this stuff was on here
Dejuan Wallace Steph know what he talkin bout. Imagine what Beal and Kemba would be doing now if they were together? Heck, they should go after him NOW it would still work!!
The irony of it all. But maaaan could you imagine a back court of Kemba & Beal. The Hornets would just need to get rid of some of the dumb ass contracts they have and they'd have the space to get themselves a good big man and really kick it up a notch.
gilbertjarenas Wait for what? MKG isn't getting any better and he's not nearly the best player on his team. The wizards got to the playoffs and the hornets didn't. Beal is great, MKG is bad.
Srijesh Panth how could mkg ever project to be a 3nD player, he always had that jump shot which is beyond broken, and is a career 19% 3pt shooter and that’s is just terrible.
John Murray yea i dont agree about the 3 and D part. people thought he could be an elite slasher, amazing on the fastbreak and d tho. which is honestly still very possible especially if he moves to PF
@@yvans. you mean like Kemba and Lamb? Or Lillard and McCollum? They both ended up paired with just as bad defensive guards. The best defense is unstoppable offense
I followed this draft hard that year, and man it’s crazy to look back at the analysis. Only a handful of guys in this draft really had skills, and were just athletes that handle limited offense. Cleveland really thought Dion Waiters, and Kyrie would work, and reached. Charlotte only really picked MKG for the culture change, because he was a limited jack knife player with a horrible jumper. Washington got it right. No question.
Ill always remember this draft for people saying Lillard could play and saying the rookie of the year race would be between him and AD. But nobody wanted to take him because he was from a small school and was older than everybody else
Skip probably doesn’t even know who MKG is anymore lol, should’ve taken Barnes, MKG isn’t bad but he isn’t anything else other than a defender, but hindsight is 2020
Zeller isn’t the best but he’s solid and you made the playoffs with him so, and they drafted kaminsky with hawes which didn’t allow kaminsky to develop. But vonleh and mkg are busts tho.
@@jayh9725 and? He has a ring cause his team was very good, u can make a HEAVY case that one of the biggest reason the 73-9 warriors lost in the finals was because of how fucking awful Harrison Barnes played that whole series. Go look up the numbers they’re terrible. I get that MKG and Robinson were total bust but don’t act like taking them over Harrison Barnes was some sort of travesty cause Barnes is not a difference maker in the nba
@@jayh9725 and in all honesty, his numbers in the finals were really bad but it gets worse when u watch the actual game cause he was throwing up a lot of bricks during critical moments. So yea chill with the Harrison Barnes talk like he’s some sort of nba great
@@supremegoesviral9922 ya and he started on the Warriors team that won the chip. What’s ur point? What are u even arguing about? Haha The point is he was a better pick then MKG and Robinson. 2 guys out of the league. If you had to pick between the 3 resumes. Harrison Barnes wins every time. Haha
Idk why the team drafted who they did? bc there were players to be had and a pretty good team could have been built right away with expansion draft and their first ever DRAFT. They had the 2nd overall pick, or was it the 4th but they moved up? i forget, but come on. Stick with NC, Jerry Stackhouse? Christian Laettner? 04-05 was Laettner's last, he could have been a good vet presence. Stackhouse was in the league for 9 yrs, so another good 4 left. Looking at the list, i would have gone with: SG: Jerry Stackhouse, Dahntay Jones PG: Devin Harris (draft) , Dan Dickau PF: Lorenzen Wright, Marcus Fizer SF: Gerald Wallace, (2nd round pick) C: Primoz Brezec, Vitaly Potapenko
Maybe not everyone should, but MJ really should hire SAS to be his drafting adviser, including this, I remember many times SAS called out MJ not to draft certain players and he was right about a lot of them. If they had beal instead of MKG, we wouldn't be screaming freekemba now, and frankly Beal is the better fit for Kemba even at that exact moment.
I never saw the hype about MKG when he in college or when he got drafted. Harrison Barnes was the better SF and I couldn’t believe he fell down to the Warriors. Bobcats should’ve took Beal or Barnes easily.
I was born and raised in Charlotte and still here today.... on the other hand Mr. Smith was right imagine Beal and walker in the hornets back court 👀👀👀
So SA said the bobcats should have drafted Robinson? Glad MJ didn't listen. Actually it's interesting that Skip promoted MKG. MKG is precisely what he predicted him to be. He's not a star but he is a solid defender and hi energy player. He is Charlotte's 6 th man now and is a perfect fit for that role. MJ finally made some good decisions to bring Kupchak as GM and Borrego as coach. They finally have a good young bench with a number of players who can really excel with the proper development. They are going to surprise people who don't follow them closely.
Harrison Barnes or Bradley Beal would have been leaps and bounds better than MKG at that pick. People were so high on him but his shooting was atrocious so his ceiling was always going to be low.
I mean MKG isnt a totally bad player. His offense may never be on point but he is a great defender. But im pretty sure if what they knew now of them then they would have picked beal easily. Hell even the kings are looking stupid since they basically picked michael robinson over lillard.
I think the bobcats shld take damian Lillard, he could develop to a great PG and become an on court general for the Bobcats. In the PG dominated game crrently in the NBA Lillard would be a great pick.
The reason this might be on all of our recommended is because Charlotte is considering trading for Bradley Beal ,maybe that’s why. a bit of a stretch but only reason I can think of lol
