This is my first time porting a throttle body myself and it turned out great. I didn't think it would make a difference on a mostly stock 5.3 as the throttle body is not really a restriction yet. As I get the truck ready for LS Fest West I'm excited about the changes that are coming quickly. I need to get this thing ready for the scheduled dyno tune.

I ported and polished my throttle body to a funnel shape, and very jumpy. I gotta do this.

This worked great. I don’t know about power gain, I did long tubes, a cam, and dyno tuned right after this. Every little bit helps though. Makes great power.

The only thing I didn't like was not polishing. I get just making it functional, but those micro pits from cleaving off material definitely can affect the air flow. Basically the same reason you're even porting but on a micro scale. But other than that, sweet job

I'd bet there is a slight difference in low-throttle situations (both torque and MPG), and slightly more gains after a couple hundred miles of stock computer tune 'learning' new airflow. Tuning will further help it, but even stock tune will compensate over a couple hundred miles if you don't have too extreme mods. It appears this throttle body is more restrictive than other LS's such as the LS2, so it might have leaned it out more until the computer catches up. Was there slightly more power as the computer relearned? I have a 5.3 in my Envoy XL (and 4.10 gears), so it's relatively peppy.

Why do you need the connector for coolant tube just connect one side to the other and remove one of the tubes? Unless urs is to short? Pause.

No clue. I did long tubes, a cam, and this and had it dyno tuned all at the same time. Probably no gains on a stock engine but the cam probably needed more airflow.

Thanks for making the video. I will be doing the same mod on one of my extra throttle bodies. I am going to do a comparison of 0-60 on my 78MM turbo 6.0 AWD RCSB sierra. I have a draggy that ill do the test on. I bet a forced induction truck picks up some good power versus your untuned relatively stock truck (from what i can see in the video)

I’m sure it will make a larger difference on a boosted build. I don’t know what it did on mine. I did this, long tubes, cam, and dyno tuned it all at the same time. So it’s hard to say. Your truck should be a good time.
