Necromancer vs Heidrun Thaig(Solo, Nightmare, No heal on hit) - Dragon Age Inquisition 

Yeah, somehow they still haven't figured out how to include resistances that make sense. They got them right in Origins, but ever since DA2 they are just throwing them around senselessly - they are basically playing musical chairs with the immunities and whoever picks a chair gets a random resistance. I would not be surprised if Rage Demons in the next game would be immune to cold, or Revenants would be immune to fire...

@@AKisHerceg implying the next game wouldn't boil the complexity down to the point it's just melee, ranged, or magic damage. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they did that.

@@StarMarshal they've already reduced the number of elemental damage types, As far as I'm aware nature damage is completely removed, they've been cannibalizing the existing spell lists to create specializations. I'm honestly not holding out much hope for the franchise from a writing or gameplay standpoint.

@@AKisHerceg Amusingly enough, the DA:O mage is already a better necromancer than the DA:I necromancer. The entropy and spirit lines have everything the enterprising necromancer needs, and it's still mindboggling that the capstone necromancy spell in DA:I is haste instead of something like Death Cloud or Animate Dead.

Not really for the Emissary, I think that is just a side effect of cold damage coupled with my fav spells: Energy Barrage and Winter's Grasp. My character is very cold oriented(since that is my favorite element in every DA game). :) This is why the Ogres are so annoyingly tanky against me: they are immune to spirit damage so no Walking Bomb proc from Fire Mine, they are immune to the Chilled effect, so no damage bonus from Winter's Ruin. Literally the only thing that can deal decent damage on them is the Fire Mine, but since I don't use RoD they see me coming so they can grab me as soon as I'm near. Actually they can even grab me sometimes while I'm Fade Stepping away... Plus as I wrote, their grab is not a threat, since they drop me as soon as Mana Surge activates after losing the Barrier, but those freaking Emissaries(they re-spawn so useless to kill them)can "fire spray" you while you are getting up - and since you just lost your Barrier, that can be fatal. Yup, RoD is definitely a killer. Actually this thaig would be much easier with that ring, but I really wanted a build that would work without it.

@@AKisHerceg well you certainly achieved! This builds can grit its way through the Thaig in incredible ways (and probably anything in the game)! When it came to the emissaries, I had a lot of luck just keeping them frozen while I dealt with the ogres-admittedly the ogres also went a whole lot faster dealing 14-20k per fire mine on that mostly fire/glass cannon, so this was more of a sprint than a full marathon I had to run!-and then I dealt with the emissaries relying mostly on ice mine into winters ruin (usually with a hit between to get flashpoint to double up winters ruin) with the occasional fire mine to explode a nearby genlock (I did get very lucky here landing a WB masterwork on both of the emissaries that ticked for 3-4 thousand and I think was glitched because it just kept going and never detonated). Heidrun in particular I think is in general more vulnerable to fire. Also just the sheer value of a spell that deals 16x AoE weapon damage 3x and the potential for getting WB and explode on kills of it is beyond broken even if you can’t flank with it.

As far as I can tell, no, nothing bypasses Guard when it comes to the player. Even if you get poison or burning damage, the OTD has to first burn through your guard.

I purposefully don’t use the Golden Nug. And since in the main game you can only use it with the Golden Nug, I don’t have access to it. But yes, it is totally broken(just like the Ring if Doubt). So personally I don’t think there is a build out there that would not work with these equipment, so I find no challenge in making builds with theses items. :)

Only one WB can be active on a target as far as I know, so whoever procs it first gets to have it basically. Both are chance based so nope, no priority whatsoever - if Dorian procs it first, he gets to have it, if you, then you can have it. :)

To say I never die would be a lie, but I die extremely rarely. With this build and this specific fight, I died a few times thanks to the broken Grab skill of the Ogres(they kept gabbing me while I was Fade Stepping away, which should not be possible for them). With my KE I did not die, since it is easy to activate Fade Cloak quickly before something happens. With other videos/builds, I would say that only the Hakkonites can floor me sometimes. Against any other enemy, nope, I don’t die. :)

Fav class is Warrior, but fav spec is Artificer(Champion comes right after). :)

I used the Dalish Warrior Armor schematics, the Battlemage Cowl, and the Avenger blade. If I would not be a dalish then I would change the armor to the Griffon Plate armor. :)

if you're on PC, there is an unofficial patch (mod) that fixes this issue. however, it would also removes very strong exploits like Necromancer's Simulacrum dmg resist and Champion's War Cry armor stacking.

Ouch. Might want to restart with tomes…

@@AKisHerceg nah im masochist. 2 tries already, skellies just break me. i guess ill put my dwarves somewhere distant, so that they only start fighting when i kill the body.

Not really fun- at least for me. I only do it for the challenge. Stealth rogue, dex rogue and Arcane Warrior are the best for it - W&S and TH warriors are the worst.
