A couple of years ago I was trying to decide which kit to buy. Then the FLGS decided to sell off all their Necromunda stuff at 50% so I just bought both. ETA: Both the Ambot and the Ogryn that is.

You have somewhat misjudged the Storm Welder weapon. Ok, maybe on an expensive Ogryn, it is a bit risky. It definitely works better on Goliath Prospect, which does not cost so much, and its loss will not be so painful. On the other hand, the weapon provides a ton of fun; on top of that, if it hits, it can knock down even half the opponent's gang. Rapid 3 can hit several targets at once and with S5 easily injure them, even more, if you roll a 6 to hit it automatically injures everyone it hits! In one game, carrying a gun, it will kill itself.... in another, he can knock down 3-5 fighters at once, which happened to me more than once. Its greatest strength is the psychological effect. For in Zone Mortalis, just put such a single Ogryn or Juve around the corner, and it can keep the whole corridor from the opponent who will be afraid to take the risk of sending some fighters there.

We were perhaps harsh on it - I think it's less the Unstable rule being a problem on a Prospect and more the Reckless, which has to select all possible targets in front of you. I do agree it's better in Zone Mortalis where it's easier to lock down a hallway! Goliath is also just really short on cash due to their fighters being so expensive. We actually discuss this a great deal in our next video... I STILL want to try one when I next play Goliath though!

Hey guys I love this game and I love that you guys are reporting on it You are my favorite, however, I would love a video or maybe even a comment to get your opinions on something. The internet tells me that this game is unbalanced for a reason and that it's so drive is to have fun and make memorable narrative plays, so I get confused when you guys break down a ranking structure to optimize a gang because in my mind if you are optimizing a gang you're telling me not to take other pieces of equipment or gear in an effort to always win... But that goes against what I've been told for how necromund is supposed to be approached That is not about winning

A good observation! The people saying the best way to approach it is fun are right - we feel that you can kind of unlock "more fun" by knowing the options and how they stack up. I think there's a misconception that playing for fun means not weighing options at all. It's also very much that a person's idea of fun can vary drastically and we want to help as many as possible!

Thank you so much for the response! That makes sense. I would love to see a video on how you guys approach the ways you guys have most fun. For me it's all about the story and the narratives that only dice rolls can make lol

Great point. I think it can be useful to know how effective various elements are so that you can tailor your gang to not be too oppressive or struggle too hard. If you have a good mix of competitive options along side more "fun" ones, than you should hopefully avoid becoming too weak or overpowered, albeit this is something that may require regular adjustment over time.

Its not all about winning but you also wont be having fun if your gang sucks too, so finding that balance is the key.
